What is a file called A240EEA0?

This file and another called 38EDDEA0 showed up on my desktop today.  They can't be moved or deleted and no information can be seen.  Anybody know what they are and how I can get rid of them?  Thanks.

I am a bit disappointed that after all this time I still don't have a good answer on what this file type is up to, why it is on my system and why it keeps coming back after I delete it.
It is a bit disturbing that it replicates with more files of the same type when left alone and not deleted every day.
I don't now or have I ever worked for the Department of Defense, (not counting more than 30 years ago when I was in the U. S. Air Force) and I have never had any software from them on my system.
All I do know about this file type is that since I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.4, the file stopped coming back.
Now I still don't know which program or setting allowed this file type to keep coming back into my system. All I do know is after upgrading, I deleted this file from the storage drive that it keeps popping up on, and it stayed gone.
Is it really gone, or is it hiding somewhere else?
And what is different about OS X 10.4 and OS X 10.2.8 that would allow this to happen?

  • Re-installed Windows 7/iTunes 10.7.  iTunes sees my iPhone 3gs.  Won't sync.  I have back ups to the cloud and my computer but moved my music folder.  How do I resync with a backup???  What's the file called that I need?

What is the name of the file I need to resync back to what I had before I reinstalled Windows7/Itunes?
I don't want to lose all of my apps.  iTunes does see the phone but either has miscalcuated and told me I'm over
the size of my allocated sizes for music/apps, but when I uncheck, it still won't sync.
Best way, I assume is to go back to the last backup.  So help me out here, what are the file (s) I need and
where are they best stored?  I have all my music now on my J drive, not my C drive.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Sue

I backed up to the iCloud and to my computer.  Only thing I seem to be missing is a couple playlists.  I just didn't want to lose my paid apps.
So what I see in my music folder and then another folder called iTunes and then files like iTunes Library, iTunes Library extras, iTunes Music Library aren't anything that is a back up, I take it, since you said the back up would be under programs?  If this statement is true, now I "get" it!
And just to be clear, in iTunes, in my apps, there are all the apps I have gotten for free or paid for.  But the problem there was that the Sync was grayed out and if I check it, everything goes crazy with saying I don't have enough room.  I unchecked the music folder, and still had problems.
Oh, I hate this part of the iPhone stuff!

  • What is a file call ZTE_P18E_111 loggingdameon 13-17-31? Cannot delete it - says its in use. Think its slowing up my computer!

Recently purchased a new smart phone and downloaded some relevant files. Now my My iMac is continually running. I've found there is a file titled ZTE_P18E_111 loggingdameon 13-17-31 that I cannot delete. (The phone didn't work out, but now I can't remove this file - says its in use). Not sure if this file is the problem, but my iMac never did this before. Can anyone explain how to remove this file?

If it's a daemon then, yes, it will be 'in use' since it's actively running on your machine, so you can't delete it.
Typically there are two approaches to this - one is to attempt to move/delete the file while it's active and then reboot - the premise being that it won't be able to relaunch after a reboot and therefore you'll be free to delete it.
The second approach is to stop the process first - this is probably the safer/cleaner approach.
Note that orthogonal to this is whether the OS will try to restart the process at the next reboot/login - removing the file, and even stopping it temporarily, doesn't necessarily mean the OS won't try to restart it later, with a continuous launch failure. For this reason it's sometimes better (harder?) to find where it's getting started from and nix it that way.
I'd start by looking in /Library/LaunchDaemons for a file that corresponds to the ZTE process - with luck it'll be obvious, and this would be the file that's triggering the process to launch at boot time. You should be able to move this file to the trash (or anywhere outside of /Library/LaunchDaemons) and restart your machine, and the process shouldn't restart. Then, of course, you're also free to delete the ZTE file as well.

  • I can not download any files, i think i by misstake put the download manager in the trash and then deleted it, what should i do? I am not so shore what the program is called in English( in Swedish:filhämtare) but it looks like a little grey box

Hi, i really need help... I think i by accident deleted the "download manager" i´m not shore what the program is called in English ( Swedish : filhämtaren), but its symbol looks like a grey little box and when you download a file it appears on a list and is then saved in this program. I don`t know how i didn´t see it in the trash, but somehow i deleted this program by mistake. And as a consequence i can no longer open/download any files. I just got my macbook pro and i do love the system but i am now unsure about what i should do with this problem since i am not that terribly good with computers.... Is there any way you can fix this?

    If it looks like this:
    It's called an "installer.app"
You can custom install the "installer.app" directly from your System DVD that originally came w/your computer.  It will be either inside the "Bundled Software" folder or inside the "Applications" folder.

  • Noobie question: What is the DW file called and where is it?

All the folders and files are showing in the window.
So  now when I open DW it automatically is opening my site. But is there a  file that is the new site? In Golive there was a file called  sitename.site that was the actual site file.
    Can't find one for DW.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick responses.
So there's not a file that is associated with the site. My site has the folders and index.html but I thought there would also be a file that DW makes for that particular site. On the Mac you don't need to open the program first. You can just find the file you want and it will open the correct program. However, if I just click on the index.html file it won't open the DW site. It'll open the index.html page only. And since every site I create will have an index page, how does DW know the difference?
Do I have to open my sites from DW only?
    Thanks.
In windows you can open web pages without having to open DW, but if they are html files and you have associated thos file types to open with DW, they will probably open DW and then load there. You can save the raw code in a text file and then save that text file as an .html file extension wich will, when opened, open your browser and you can view the page there.

The same problem is affecting me in a more serious way.
I think the problem you are having is that somehow you have a Servlet-2.2.0.jar in your classpath at the time the JSP is being parsed.
What is disturbing is that BEA claims WebLogic 5.1 supports JSP 1.1 Spec, but WebLogic "JspLexer" code tries to construct a javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo using (String, String). The JSP 1.1 Spec says the only constructor is (String, boolean, String, boolean).
My question is: What version of the JSP Spec does WebLogic 5.1 actually support?

What I've found is that somehow the jar file has been corrupted that it opens for everything except the web server. My fix is to delete all copies of the jar file and recreate it, then restart the web app server.
