What is a full charge?

ok.. here is the deal ig to my 5G pod for about um... lets say a week....and i have to charge it everyday, because it's always empties in less then 8 hours ( just music with no back lights)
so i connect the USB to the pod and after 2 hours it's charged
and after 8 hours or less it's dead
here is my question....
when you charge it when the plug icon shows up is that the 80% charge or is that the 100% charge?

5 hours of continuous playing (ie, not you selecting tracks etc) after a full 4 hour+ charge would be defective in my view.
But first, you need to ensure you are fully charging the iPod by charging it from a sufficient source (ie, high power USB or FW port or power adapter) for 4 hours from fully discharged, regardless of what the battery meter or the charging icon might say.
Then set it to play continuously with no backlight, mid volume and EQ off, and see how long it goes before it switches off. If it's as little as 5 hours doing that, call Apple!

  • What is the Full Charge Capacity showing for your 11.6 MBA

Mine started out at around 4675 and is now at 4539 with 16 Cycles. I'd like to see if I'm in the ballpark and if not, what the users with higher capacity are doing: charging, conditioning, etc.

Q: How can I have a 'Good' Battery Condition instead of 'Normal'? I've seen a lot of other users 'Health Information' and theirs says 'Good'.
I've seen it displayed both ways over the years..... depends on where the users are reading it, from the About this Mac, or an application like Coconut Battery. I use iStat Pro and About this Mac. As long as it says Normal I'm happy

  • What is the Full Charging time of asha 305

i want to know in how much time its get full chargedup from  0 to 100

don't have 305 so don't know it's charging time. one thing that I have noticed is that USB charging is a lot slower than using the real charger (round plugin). 4hours sounds really long time, my x3-02 charges up within a hour or so (haven't really measured)

  • Full Charge Capacity

What should the full charge capacity on the Air be?

This is normal. You will see some fluctuation around the number, it's nothing to be worried about. Mine has fluctuated between ~5100 and ~4900 with it most of the time around 4980.

  • MBP 15" - Full charge capacity

    Hej,
since two weeks I have a new MBP 15", 3Ghz with 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM.
I compare the "Full charge capacity" with my old MBP.
The old one has 5347 with a three months old battery and the new MBP has only 6790. Currently I can work with it between 3 and 4 hours.
So my questions is: *What is your "Full charge capacity"?*
And yes I have reseted the SMC and calibrated the battery.
It would be nice to get some comments from other 15" MBP owners.
    Thanks in advance

The 15" MBP has a 73 watt-hour battery. Assuming it has the same voltage as Apple portable batteries have had for years (10.8 V), the calculated full charge capacity of a new battery is 6760 mAh. That's a nominal value, and real new batteries will vary within a range of that value. So, your battery specs are fine. I know 3-4 hours seems a far cry from 7 hours, but keep in mind that the 7 hr estimate isn't 'real world', it's marketing. The biggest power consumer is the display, so turning down the brightness to the minimum level you need is the best thing you can do to increase battery life.

Sounds like you need a new battery.  Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

Restart device: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue?  Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?

  • What does 'usage' under "Time since last full charge" indicate?

At present, it says the standby since last full charge is 17 hours and usage is 5 hours. I am sure I haven't talked on the phone for 5 hours. So what exactly does this 'usage' indicate? Anyone please care to explain?
Also, is there an app that would display how much each activity is using my battery since the last full charge or even simply how much time a given app/service has remained active.
    Neerav

usage is the amount of time you have been actively using the phone as opposed to standby where it is just sitting in idle

  • 18 mo old battery with only 83 cycles full charge = 64% ... what!

The battery in my 18 month old late 2008 model MacBook (unibody) has had only 83 battery load cycles yet will only charge to 64% (2651 mAh vs 4100) at full charge.
Needless to say, this is disappointing when the local Apple dealer tells me it should be fine to 300 cycles. As an Apple user since the late 1970s Ive been able to fix most of my problems on my own ... but doing all the usual battery fixes does nothing. The battery is crap.
Very disappointed in Apple battery quality. No way I can pay $140 to replace what should be still fine. Ugh. And $49 for a tech support phone call, Apple. Come on.

Relax. Technology's not perfect. You have regularly calibrated it, haven't you? Maybe you should have bought AppleCare...
Oh, and Apple doesn't make the batteries.

  • Hello! I'd like to know about the battery. Can it lose the capacity? What can i do to prolong it life time? Full charge? How to proceed ? Thanks.

    - See:

    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.

The unit was purchased on Saturday and right out the box it had an FCC of 5618. After the first full cycle (condition) the FCC read 5542 and and now it's gone down even more. When I was at the Apple store they had 4, 13" MBP demo units and they were all scattered between 5300-5700 with all less than 5 cycles.
I think your battery is fine, from what you've said. I also wouldn't read too much into the 3rd party battery health monitoring tools, from experience what they judge as "95% of full charge capacity" is typically not entirely accurate.
