What is a HALO template?

Sorry guys i'm noob.
Can some one please explain to me the meaning of the HALO
TEMPLATE?
What is it all about and what is it for? any very detailed
and simple explanation please...
Thanks in advance.

It's something you should stay away from. It was included
with versions of
DW earlier than CS3, and it's definitely not for new users -
or anybody for
that matter. It's quirky and awkward, and ... well ...
broken.
I assume that's what you meant?

  • Using Halo Template

I need help with understanding why the menu bar in the Halo
Template that I am using to construct a web page does not show. I
experience a shift in the design under one of the "div" tags when I
attempt to customize the image tag under the Page Title tag and
when I go to save, the menu bar disappears, the small logo shifts
to the left, the page title moves to the top, the bottom navigation
overwrites the navigation at the top. I have attempted to redo this
page several times and each time I get to this section, this
    scenario occurs.
I have checked my syntax to make sure that I included the
necessary opening and closing quotations marks around my
customization preferences. I have also checked to see if I am
somehow deleting key code that was originally necessary (I printed
out a copy of the original template code and have went line for
    line.
Is there a tutorial that explains this Page Design template
that was included with my version of Dreamweaver located within
this forum or another section of Adobe that anyone can point me to?
Or has anyone used this template to design a web page and may have
some words of wisdom that would help?
Thanking you for your time and efforts,
    Sharon Tutt

The Halo templates were so quirky and inexperienced user
    unfriendly, that
they have been removed from DW, unfortunately. There is a
    tutorial about
the navigation, however, written by me, at this location -

You probably do want 'Other Standard LMSs' selected, unless you specifically want to track to one of the other options in that LMS drop-down, correct?
The issue you're finding is that it's using the 'MultiSco' path incorrectly?
It should be using the 'Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7\Templates\Publish\LMS\Standard\SCORM' path?
I don't have CP8 setup yet so can't duplicate the issue.
If you're sure that's the problem, just backup the '\MultiSco\SCORM\1_2\Default.htm' and copy over the proper path/files from the SCORM directory... So if CP is going to insist on an incorrect path, at least you can put the correct file where it's going to grab from.
Or, of course, you can just swap out after publishing, right?

  • What's the best template for notes in pages?

I have had my macbook for a couple of months now, but I only got around to buying iWork a few days ago.
What do you guys recommend as a template for notetaking?

Pages isn't a specific note taking application but rather a word processing and page layout application.
There is a note taking application called Notebook from CircusPonies. Check it out.

  • What is a good template engine?

I want your suggestions on good template engine. My project is almost done and ready to go to production in few weeks, I want something which is easy to learn yet good enough.
    Following are my specific requirements:
    1) We have like 150 jsps (not too many), but I want a template engine which lets me add a header, footer and other links easily to all these pages to start with.
    2) Later on I want a rule based template engine which changes the layout of page based on rules. For example UI for a role based web site, like Admin sees different tabs on the menu bar than a normal user.
    Thanks for your help

For what you are suggesting, I'd look at tiles.
If you were wanting to do something more sophisticated and data drive things, then maybe you would look at Freemarker or Velocity. Not much t choose between these.

  • What is the best template to use in xcode 5 to make a game?

I've seen videos where people mainly use "Single View Application" and I've also heard of "Spritekit". I aslo know there are others. Which one would be the best to use to develop games and why? Why would you use one over another for a game out of any of the templates?

I'm not really sure what Cocoa Touch is so I just looked it up on Google and went on Wikipedia. It said, "Cocoa Touch provides an abstraction layer of iOS, the operating system for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Cocoa Touch is based on the Mac OS X Cocoa APItoolset and, like it, is primarily written in the Objective-C language." I thought Cocoa Touch was a "language" but it says it is written in objective c. So then what is the difference between Cocoa Touch and Objective C, and what exactly is Cocoa Touch. I am so confused.

  • What is the User Template folder in the /System/Library? Can I delete it?

hi, looking for a little help. i was just perusing stuff on my macbook pro and came across this in finder:
macintosh>system library>user template. it's a folder with a little red circle and minus sign in the corner and the dates it was created, modified and last used were before we bought the computer. clicking on 'more info' tells me i don't have access to it. does anyone know what it is and if it can be trashed without adversely affecting my laptop? the size says 'calculating size' but it never gets off of that. thanks.

does anyone know what it is
The source files for all newly created user accounts.
if it can be trashed without adversely affecting my laptop?
No, and nothing else in System can be unless instructed otherwise.

  • R: how to, and with what quality, converting OVM Templates to VMWare

    Hi all
My customer wants to migrate from VMWare to Oracle VM for the Oracle products they have, but that will be a somewhat longer process. They need to stick to VMWare for their runtime platform at least for a longer while.
We are looking at what steps are possible now, and one of the routes the customer suggested is to start using the OVM Templates, and create OVM templates with a more or less "design" installation for Oracle VM. Then do a conversion to VMWare and run it as a VMWare virtual machine.
Is such a conversion possible, and will there be any quality left ? I assume the initial run scripts will not work for example?
Also we want to use OEM as the central point for provisioning. So somehow we would need to provision the VMWare images as well. But that will be for a different forum :-)
    Thanks
    Jan Willem

    Hi Dave
The runtime platform as a whole is controlled by a division of the organization that is not ready and willing to move to OVM yet. I have this discussion regularly and the discussions, also this time, are typically around supportability, standardization and maturity. OVM is favoured by the architects, but they do not have all the power :-)
The organization claims not to have the skills, the right monitoring framework (for instance a link to Tivoli) in place, no experience etc. so they cannot support the app in production. Also they are still on the concept of a standardized platform for all apps, not just the oracle ones. The non-oracle apps typically are supported on VMWare. Then they usually claim the huge market share as opposed to OVM to support their claim that VMWare is a more mature product.. In short many reasons for an admin organization not to adopt OVM. So they just will not support an app run on OVM in production..
In the meantime they also have decided against VMWare and go for Bare metals.
    Thanks
    Jan Willem

  • What is the login template?

    Hi Experts,
I need to change the login template for the client. But I could not find the login.html in their ITS system. What other template could be used for login and where can I find it. Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Johnson

    Hi Johnson,
there is no way to customize the login screen using the Internet Explorer.
I suggest to look to a possibility for accessing the file system of the ITS
server. Then you can search for a file named login.html and modify the
    templates with your text editor.
    best regards

  • Is there a way to turn the pattern matching example in Labview to instead of loading a rectangle around what you want the template to be you can use an image display , I've be trying and can get no where with it

What I want to do is , have two images on image displays and the pass them through the same setup as the pattern matching example to get the number of matches , I have attached what I have done and also given the pattern matching example program as well.
Hope to get answers back soon,

    Hi there!
The example used can be adapted for comparing two images, however the algorithm and coding for finding the differences is more specific to your actual problem. In terms of the loading and displaying of the images, this can be done in the same way.
Once you have some sort of algorithm, then you can automate the learning and matching by simply wiring them in order. (in the example, these are put in case structures as they are waiting on response from the front panel)
    I hope that this helps,
