What is a link preview? I just want a definition, please. Not other people's questions.
I am a desktop user. You keep making changes to make me safer, which is good. But I really need a clear definition of all your terms. I do not know a lot of them. LINK PREVIEW. Task bar. None of those bars are labeled. I DO NOT necessarily know what they are called. Things are covered up with one bar on top of another a lot of the time. I clicked on all the bars and never found the one in your explanation. Q? Is there a dictionary of terms? For all the terms, ie. all the nouns and verbs in comupterese?

Do you recognise the id e.g. has anybody else used your iPad and downloaded and/or synced apps from their account onto it ? If so then those apps will be tied to that person's account, and only that account can download any updates to those apps.
Otherwise you can log out of the currently logged in account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with a different account. -

What do I have to do to convert a file from JPEG to PDF?
There are any number of image editing software products that can convert an image in the Tiff, Jpeg, etc image formats to PDF. Some are even free.
Another approach would to insert the image into MS Word or MS PowerPoint and save the document as a PDF. There are even free office suites that can process MS Office documents and export them to PDF.
So many free options to accomplish this task. -

I have searched the whole internet for a solution no one seems to know what im talking about.
I have a HP Pavilion DV7 Notebook with windows 8.1 installed 8 gb ram and amd-a6 processor overclocked to 2.30ghz and my pride Beats speakers. For sometime now ive been playing music on my laptop very loud so i believe that one day the song was too loud that my front left speaker kinda blew. My pc has 5 speakers: 2 in front, 2 on top and 1 subwoofer under. All i want is to disable the front left speaker only and it seems that there no way. I know how to disable both front speakers but that will make my speakers ordinary as the subwoofer will also be disabled and it wont sound like beats speakers again. Please there should be a way to just disable one speaker and retain the services of the other speakers without meeting a technician or opening the laptop. There should be an app or something that would help please because now when music is playing it sounds disgusting. Any help will be appreciated@jpeezy_dv7 ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forum. The only way you will be able to disable that speaker is if you disconnect it.

tanxJust delete the files in your download folder regularly. Ten seconds once a week isn't too bad.
Although I have a question. It sounds like this is something you experience with attachments in email. Are you using Apple's Mail or some other program? I just tested opening an attachment from Mail and it did not save to my downloads--it just opened up in Word and disappeared when I closed it. If you're using a web-based email program, your attachments probably follow the default for any internet download, which is to put it in the downloads folder. -
I duplicated it impropelry. I didn't want to duplicate all the reference files etc... I deleted it...and perhaps went too far in deleting other items. Now my project is gone from my timeline. Is there anything I can do to retrieve my work?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

Preview will combine some pdf files, but not others, what gives?
After years of PC loyalty, I switched to a MacBook Pro four years ago and found heaven. Most of that time I've blissfully worked my arse off at my office on a powerful, simple, wonder of a machine/OS. However, the latest update to my Preview app seems intent on ruining one of my favorite programs. Often I take a pdf file (a cover sheet) and add technical data pages to the pdf by combining other pdf files (drag and drop). This used to work seamlessly without hitches. After the latest update however, I cannot add certain files without an act of congress! Some files stubbornly refuse to combine, in which case I must duplicate the host file, or the files being added (often several times), saving and removing versions before it magically works! Granted, I'm no wiz and I'm quite sure I'm overlooking a simple step that will clear this confusion. Can anyone help? The lovely cash vampires at Apple refuse without payment. Thanks in advance.

They could be added to iTunes but iTunes converts them as iTunes cannot play WMA files (as Brett mentioned).
You can first add them to iTunes on your Windows computer, which will convert them to AAC & then copy the converted files to the new computer. -

I just want to sync photos not video from my 3gs. Possible?
Everytime I sync my 3gs with my computer videos from my 3gs that have previously synced to my computer sync over and over again. My computer / itunes is not recognizing that it already synced the video. It is taking all of my computer space!
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
Type "move itunes library" or similar into the google search bar to learn how to copy the itunes library.
Your computer should have a method for moving everything else (pics/docs/files/contacts/calendars/etc). -

You can take the following steps, if you have ios 5 installed:
1. Go to settings,
2. Choose store,
3. Tap on Apple ID: (on the right pane)
4. Sign out
5. Tap on Sign In
6. Tap on Use Existing Apple ID in the modal dialog box
7. Enter username and password
8. Tap on OK and verify your payment info - Enter security code and then tap on Done
9. Go to Store (in setting) again
10. Turn on Apps -
Need to deauthorize sharing on computers I no longer own. When I look at the instructions, I'm unwilling to hit "deauthorize this computer"...worried it will deautorize that particular puter. Don't wanna do that....just want to eliminate sharing on other puters.

You can safely deauthorize and then reauthorize the computer in front of you. You can't deauthorize individual computers you can no longer access, but if you have 5 authorizations in total you can remove them all, then authorize the computers that you want.

It uses data to play the podcasts which, once downloaded should not reqiure wifi to play!
Fix it, otherwise stop forcing us to use it and allow us a choice!They do. There's lots of podcasting apps in the store, and you can erase the podcasts app and go back to the old way of playing them with the music app. Biggest downside is that you can't download podcasts on the phone without the podcasts app, so either do it on your computer or download the app, get the podcasts and erase the app. There's a few topics on here on how to do this. Search is your friend.
