Can anyone suggest an easy web-page creation program for use with MacBook Pro? I have used FrontPage with my PC, but am changing to a MacBook Pro.

It largely depends on your skill level. Do you want to write web page code, or do you want to just design something and have it turn into a web page automatically?

The reason is that these companies have fully operational, nicely designed web site templates that you just fill in with your words and pictures, and they are ready to go. They also give you these benefits:

Already designed to work on all browsers
Already designed to automatically adjust the page for readability on desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone screen sizes

It is not like the old days where you build a site in Front Page and you assume it will only be seen on a desktop computer. If you build it yourself with a web page program, do you have the knowledge to make a site that works on all of the different web browsers and mobile devices, and is friendly to search engines and social media? If you don't have those skills, working with a website company can be a lot better, faster, and more reliable than trying to hammer all of that out yourself using code in some app.

I have used it quite a bit for connecting to external drives, etc. with no problems. Have not done a tape ingest as we don't have tape based cameras to work with any more. It appears to emulate a FW800 port perfectly.

My experience with Lacie and Sony burners has always been positve and Toast is good to have around, it's always complimented iDVD well (in addition to having a host of other useful features).
Note:
I'm not familiar with any of Toast 6 lite's features, but I do know you can burn DVD's with it. It adds another means of authoring a DVD outside of iDVD.

EA4500 router web page not accessible for use.

I cannot login, web page pops up but its only a blue screen with help icon and privacy icon at bottom nothing is interactive. Have tried mylocalrouter.com, linksyssmartwifi.com. Hi mtebaldi, have you tried using another browser and computer? If you're using a wireless computer, you may also try to turn the wireless computer WiFi switch to off then connect it directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. Once done, reaccess UI again. You may also try to access UI using "myrouter.local".

Why all of a sudden is what I do on web pages being tracked for ads to show me?

I detest ad tracking and all of a sudden any page I go to as a consumer gets tracked. Ads showing in safari , products I have looked days earlier. Safari also has been on a crash cycle, closing it's self when I try going to a new page or follow a link. Have never found a way to get a fresh copy of Safari, this is most frustrating!

I'm a bit unclear on what you're seeing with regard to these ads. Are you seeing ads that are normal for the page in question, or are you seeing ads where there shouldn't be any?
Regarding the browser crashes, that's not normal. It could be a result of visiting a malicious page. There is a long-standing bug where a maliciously-crafted (or just plain corrupt) image file can cause Safari on iOS to crash. It does nothing more than that, though, so I'd be surprised if you see that sort of thing with any regularity. If you're seeing it on more than one particular page, this is unlikely to be the cause.
Beyond that, you probably just have something wrong with the system on your iPad. First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:

If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

What size should external back-up drive be for use with Time Machine?

I am very new to Macs.
My iMac has a 500GB hard disc - not much on it yet.
I want to back the hard disc up daily and automatically to an external hard drive using Time Machine. So that I could restore everything if the iMac failed.
1. Does the external hard drive that I buy need to be larger than the iMac's hard disc, e.g 1Tb? Or is 500Gb enough in my case?
2. Should it be pre-formatted for Mac when I buy it? Or do I have to do this?
3. Should it use firewire or USB?
4. Presumably I need to leave the external drive plugged in all the time? Or will this stop the iMac from switching on and off?
I really want the easiest solution possible as I am not very techie and I want the minimum amount of fiddling with it. So I am confused between whether to choose a Western Digital My Book Office edition or Studio edition, 500Gb or 1TB, firewire or USB, or maybe a Lacie?
Would be grateful for advice.

Welcome to the Apple forums. If you have a 500G external disk, that will work fine for quite a while with hourly, daily and weekly backups, but sooner or later it will fill up, but then it begins to delete weekly backups. The same will happen with whichever size of external disk you buy: sooner or later. . . . Nonetheless, that disk will be fine for most purposes. I have 250G and use a 200G partition for my MacBook Pro and while that was fine, it tends to delete weekly backups so I have about 6 months of backups stored. (I also make other backups of all data).
It may be preformatted, but that is unlikely. Use Disk Utility (in Applications>Utilities) and use MacOS Extended, which is selected in the Partition tab (you do this even if you only use a single partition).
The system works with either Firewire or USB 2..
You do not need to leave it in all the time. If it is connected, it will make the backups, if not, nothing will happen and it will indicate that the next backup will occur when the disk is attached. To disconnect, you would highlight the disk in a Finder panel and press the Eject icon (not while TM is running of course) then disconnect the cable.
I am not able to suggest which disk is best, although my LaCie one has not missed a beat. Others may have a different idea. Try a Google search with the disk manufacturer's name and "problems" or somesuch. No disk is perfect of course.

I am looking for a new monitor in the 27-28" range. I edit mostly HD content, but also some 4K. My price range is up to $1,200.

For HD you should consider the Dell UltraSharp U2413 it is a 10-bit monitor with 100% coverage of sRGB and has a built-in hardware 14-bit LUT. With just a little bit of work you can get it to a pretty much perfect broadcast output. It is only 24", but it is 1920x1200 so the output is true pixel to pixel, which I find is more important than size. You can get it for under $500.
For 4K you could go with the UP2414Q or if you prefer 27" over 24", the P2715Q. Although the P2715Q is not a "Premier Color" monitor, it still gives you a 10-bit display and 99% sRGB coverage.

You can get it in both USB 3 or thunderbolt....yes, thunderbolt is easily 2-3x faster than USB 3.

I just opened Aperture after taking the upgrade yesterday, and attempted to build a web page form a selection of images (which I have done dozens of times before).
Now, however, when I select a Theme (any theme, it turns out) and indicate to add the selected images to the web page (or journal, for that matter), all I get is a blank page - the "teme" stuff is nonexistant. What did the gang in Cupertino do here? Is there some new setting I cannot find?

Please check the name of what you subscribed to. You say "Acrobat" but that isn't $19.99/year. Unfortunately Adobe have products which do the same thing and need to be used in different ways.
