What is difference between report programming and dialog programming?
hi,
what is difference between report programming and dialog programming? plz provide some example code
byeABAP programming
Basically reports are used to read database and represent the results in lists.
Reports are collections of processing blocks that the system calls depending on events.
We can use reports to evaluate data from database tables.
Reports are stand alone programs and controlled by events.
A report itself never creates events
steps in report:
Processing the selection screen
Reading the database
Evaluating the data and creating lists
Outputting a list.
1st u write simple logics, after that u can enhance the code as step by step.

Dialog Programming
Structure of a Dialog Program
A dialog program consists of the following basic components:
Screens (dynpros)
Each dialog in an SAP system is controlled by dynpros. A dynpro (DYnamic PROgram) consists of a screen and its flow logic and controls exactly one dialog step. The flow logic determines which processing takes place before displaying the screen (PBO-Process Before Output) and after receiving the entries the user made on the screen (PAI-Process After Input).
The screen layout fixed in the Screen Painter determines the positions of input/output fields, text fields, and graphical elements such as radio buttons and checkboxes. In addition, the Menu Painter allows to store menus, icons, pushbuttons, and function keys in one or more GUI statuses. Dynpros and GUI statuses refer to the ABAP/4 program that control the sequence of the dynpros and GUI statuses at runtime.
ABAP/4 module pool
Each dynpro refers to exactly one ABAP/4 dialog program. Such a dialog program is also called a module pool, since it consists of interactive modules. The flow logic of a dynpro contains calls of modules from the corresponding module pool. Interactive modules called at the PBO event are used to prepare the screen template in accordance to the context, for example by setting field contents or by suppressing fields from the display that are not needed. Interactive modules called at the PAI event are used to check the user input and to trigger appropriate dialog steps, such as the update task.
All dynpros to be called from within one transaction refer to a common module pool. The dynpros of a module pool are numbered. By default, the system stores for each dynpro the dynpro to be displayed next. This dynpro sequence or chain can be linear as well as cyclic. From within a dynpro chain, you can even call another dynpro chain and, after processing it, return to the original chain.

What is equivalent ASCP report for Planned Order&Order Reschedule Report
What is equivalent report for Supply Chain Planned Order Report & Supply Chain Order Reschedule Report
We are currently on MRP and running Supply Chain Planned Order Report successfully. We are planning to go to ASCP(Decentralized) next month ,what is the equivalent reports in ASCP?
Edited by: SanDan on Jan 9, 2013 1:57 PMHi ,
You can explore the Planning Detail Report which you can run against your ascp plan. However there are few standard reports available in ascp. I suggest you can explore option of building custom report which will be best suited to your business needs (i.e. using Discoverer or if you are also implementing obiee you can build a custom report based on standard views or noitex views (- for ascp)

What is an ageing report? What are the data sources used to develop an agin
Hello BW gurus,
I was going thru some of the BW resumes. I could not understand some of the points mentioned below. Kindly go thru them and please explain each of it.
Thank you.
TR.
Developed AR ageing report, created invoice layout and processed invoices.
What is an ageing report? What are the data sources used to develop an aging report
Worked on month-end and year end processes such as Balance Sheet Statements and Profit and Loss Accounts.
What data sources does one use to get Balance sheet and P&L accounts tables and fields.
Involved in the end to end implementation of BW at Reliance Group as a team member.
What are the tasks a BW consultant normally performs when he is involved in an end to end implementation project or
a full life cycle project?
Extensively worked on BW Statistics to optimize the performance of Info Cubes and to create Aggregates.
What do you mean when you say worked on BW statistics to optimize the performance of Info Cubes.
What are aggregates why do you need them?
Prepared design documents from the Business Requirement documents and identified the
relevant data targets for satisfying the customer requirements.
What are the design documents does one prepare, please give an example.
Is cube a data target? What is an ageing report? What are the data sources used to develop an aging report
Aging refers to values in different time period ranges. Example, the customer (credit) aging report can look like this.
customer (credit) for current period, 0 to 30 days, 30 to 90 days, 90 to 120 days. This is the way aging is classified.
What data sources does one use to get Balance sheet and P&L accounts tables and fields.
For P&L information, you may use 0FI_GL_6 datasource (or 0FI_GL_10 if you use ERP 5.0 version). This datasource reads the same information used in R/3 transaction f.01 (table glt0).
What are the tasks a BW consultant normally performs when he is involved in an end to end implementation project or a full life cycle project?
Requirement gathering, blueprint creation, development etc
Refer to posts on Sap Methodology and Sap lifecyle

What are the design documents does one prepare, please give an example.
Design document is basically a document to say how the design is to be developed for a particular solution ex: FI it says what is the data fow and what are the data targets to be used and how data shld be stored for providing the client a solution they need.
Is cube a data target?
Yes cube is a data target.
Hope this Helps

Dear salsa :
payment alignment report means Payments in regards to different vendors with different company codes.
In this report, Document no.,Payment methods, house bank, date of payment and balance to be paid is displayed.
you can use the standard report
FBL1N - Display/Change Line Items for vendor
You can also see the reports in General Ledger - Information systems .
If this does not satisfy the client requirement, you have to do customized report with help of ABAPer
Please let me know if you need more information.

Specifies whether a yield variance is to be expected when the finished product is delivered to stock, as the result of confirmations that have already been entered.
A yield deficit occurs during final confirmation of operations, as soon as a yield quantity is confirmed that is smaller than the planned order quantity. The confirmed scrap is not taken into account.
A yield increment occurs during partial confirmation or final confirmation of operations, as soon as a yield quantity is confirmed that is greater than the planned order quantity. The confirmed scrap is not taken into account."

What is replacing the Report Model
Hi
Given that from SQL 2012 onwards it is no longer possible to create a Report Model for use in the Report Builder, I was wondering what is taking its place?
The scenario is that I want our end users to be able to create reports using Report Builder to query the live transactional database. I thought I should create a Report Model to help them, but now I'm not sure what to do.
I want to build a solution that we can take forward and not base it on something that is deprecated.
IS the recommendation to move to Analysis Server? If so, what about real time reports.
Thanks for your help.
GrahamThink of a Shared Dataset as a view. You can create them and users can use them in the same fashion, though the data is flattened out. A Shared Dataset works through a Shared Data Source and is direct connection to the database, however when
developing against a Shared Dataset, users typically do not have to authenticate like they would with a Shared Data Source.
There really isn't anything to expose the raw schema or specific set of tables like you can with a model anymore that i am aware of other than using a Share Data Source and trying to limit security on the database side. -

What is Record to report?
Hi friends,
What is record-to-report (R2R) in SAP FI? If you have any documents relating to this please send me to [email protected]
I will reward points for helpful answers.
Thanks
Ramno no I don't want to display all.
You got that right, I am getting range from 1 to 99. What I want to show in the header is the last number which appears in the report and the first.
So if the report shows records from 2 to 80 then Start code and End Code on the header should display
Code Range = 2 to 80.
do I make sense here?

What are types of reports?
what are types of reports?
could plz explailn clearlyHi
From a theoretical perspective there are two type of reports
Classical Reports , and
Interactive Reports .
The classical reports are simple lists that display the data entries
in a simple format on one screen ( also called as basic list).
In case of Interactive reports , it is possible to transition/ move from the basic
list to secondary lists on triggering a command event like double_click ,
at line selection .
In interactive reports , on display of a secondary report , a new header can be
specified , as a different select query is executed for it .
The ALV reports are an expample of interactive reports .
ALC are of two kinds :> list and grid display .
These r basically used for customized data formatting and display.
Gris ALV has option for header details and provies a faciity for summing numering fields , or performing certain arithmetic oprns on it.
Alv reports can further b interactive where a secondary display is possible.
plz specify if u need further pointers on it

Hi,
On Production server, we use window 2008, 32 bit machine, the application is visual studio 2010, sql 2012, what version of crystal report should I install for this production server?
I should install CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_5 or CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_5?
On test server, we use window 2008 R2, 64 bit machine, the application is visual studio 2010, sql 2012, I install both version in order to make the crystal report working correctly on the application. if I miss one of them, there are some crystal report function doesn't work..
For production server, we want to install only one, so, could you give me suggestion which version is correct version to make the crystal report work totally correctly on the VS application?
thanks
KelvinHi Kelvin
First, you should really be using SP 10.
next, if your app is compiled as 32 bit, deploy 32 bit runtime.
If it is compiled as 64 bit, deploy 64 bit runtime.
If it is compiled as Any CPU and deployed to a 64 bit OS, install 64 bit runtime.

Hi Srinivas,
SD REPORTS
Reports: Reports consist of data, which is expected to be reveiwed or checked the transaction taken in said period. Reports are useful for analysis of decision taking for future activities.
Some of the standard reports for SD & its configuration guide is as under:

When you generate statistics in the logistics information system, the system uses the combination of specified statistics groups to determine the appropriate update sequence. The update sequence in turn determines for exactly which fields the statistics are generated.
Configuration:
IMG --> Logistics Information System (LIS) --> Logistics Data Warehouse --> Updating --> Updating Control --> Settings: Sales --> Statistics Groups -->
1. Maintain Statistics Groups for Customers
2. Maintain Statistics Groups for Material
3. Maintain Statistics Groups for Sales Documents
4. Assign Statistics Groups for Each Sales Document Type
5. Assign Statistics Groups for each Sales Document Item Type.....
All Standard Reports which are available are as under:
SAP Easy Access: Information Systems -> Logistics -> Sales and distribution ->
1. Customer -> Incoming orders / Returns / Sales / Credit memos / Sales activities / Customer master / Conditions / Credit Master Sheet
