What is an Error -8961 that is returned when trying to export a .mov file as an MPEG-4 file
I'm trying to view some .mov videos on Windows using QTPro. I get audio, but no video. I am trying to work around this by exporting the file to some other format and perhaps using another player. MP4 seems obvious, but any attempts to export generates this error.
The files were originally generated by a GoPro, and uploaded to a MacBook running OS X

Premiere Elements 12...have you updated 12 to 12.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update?
When you open the program to the Expert workspace and go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, do you see
presets for QuickTime? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
Are you running Premiere Elements and QuickTime from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?

Can you tell us what video compression that Blackmagic Media Express is using with that .mov file extension?
Could you download and install the free codec utility named GSpot and tell us if there are readings for
Video Codec Name Status as well as Audio Name Status?

What does "rendering error -50" mean? I'm trying to export to an apple device (Itunes) and I've done it this way before but now I just get the error message. I'm not very technically savvy.
I had a bunch of video clips which I took on a point and shoot camera. They had been uploaded along with photos to Aperture, but putting the SD card directly into my computer. Every year I take all the clips, edit out the junk, and make a DVD for the kids and grandkids to enjoy. When in final cut, I just clicked on the camera to import from Aperture.
I also make DVD's though out the year of special events, using these same type of video clips taken with the point and shoot. I sometimes do slow motion set to music, etc. I have not had a problem before. And all the bad files came from one trip in October. All the files after it were fine as well. I'm not sure what I did differently for that trip.
The little video clips say DSCN1783 (or some other file number) and are 1920x1080. I try to "share" my project to a Master File on an external drive. -

Using imovie, I am trying to export a movie however it keeps flashing error code -50 every time I try. Doesn anyone know what this error means and how I can correct the problem?
Hi, one thing I discovered was that this error message was being given whenever I tried to export the project into iTunes as a Large file. When I tried to do the same thing in to iTunes as a Mobile or a Medium file it exported fine.
I tried a workaround which was to recompile the movie again by capturing the video as one file and the audio as another file and then to import them both in to iMovie and combine them as a new project.
Once this was done, I successfully exported the new project in to iTunes (using the HD format option!).
I used Quick Time to create both the screen capture and the audio for the above workaround.
The result was that the file was still a very good quality movie. Perhaps not as good as if iMovie had worked properly, nevertheless, it removed my frustration.
Furthermore, given that the Medium format movie exported ok, even that could be used to share on other social networking sites such as YouTube.

Why do I sometimes get an error message when trying to export as mp3 file?
I'm using a Intel Core Duo Imac 2 Ghz with 2 meg memory and just upgraded to iLife 08. I was excited to see that Garageband will now let you save/export your projects as MP3 files. But I sometimes get an error message, i.e., -46 or some such number, when I try to save/export the project to iWeb. What is causing this? If I save the same project as an AAC file everything is fine. Go figure. I was really looking forward to Apple doing this in this release and won't be happy until it works perfectly. For your information I record a audio podcast and export the recorded file to iWeb and publish the site to .mac. So I'm a loyal Apple customer. My site is a gay oriented website and the new features of iWeb , including Photo albums can be viewed there. I'll email the link to anyone interested.
I know man what your saying. I should have written it down when it happened last night. I figured if anyone had had the same issue they might know the reason. I'll try doing a test recording today and see if the same issue arises. Meanwhile, if anyone has this happen to them please let me know. Thanks

Error code 180 when trying to export HD movie
I have tried exporting two different iMovie projects, all with 1080 hd footage. One about 25min, the other about 10min in length. I have tried the "Large" and "HD" settings on both movies for export and receive error code 180 about 2/3's into the export. I can export to iDVD from the same projects with no problem.
I am using a brand new iMac (OSX v. 10.6.4, i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hd, ATI 5750). iMovie 09 (8.0.6). Any suggestions?iMovie 7 allows export to YouTube accounts that would generate a .flv file but I believe that conversion to Flash is still handled by the YouTube upload.
Long ago Macromedia (now Adobe) offered a Flash Exporter that, when installed, added the option to export to Flash Video from any QuickTime aware application. You may have moved that old component from a previous install to a newer machine.
I don't think it has ever been updated to run native on Intel Macs so you would need to run the app under Rosetta. -
Quicktime error when trying to export FCPX movie to YouTube
I have an established YouTube account and I'm having trouble uploading one of my videos to YouTube. It just seems to crap out at about 12% done, and I get a Quicktime error. I'm sharing it via Final Cut Pro X.
I haven't had this problem with any of the other videos I've tried to upload to YouTube, including a couple of simple test videos today. The test videos all uploaded just fine.
The video I'm trying to upload is about 5 minutes long and has a lot of still images and transitions. Maybe it's very data-heavy and that's why it's falling over? Should I do something like compress the file before trying to share it to YouTube? Or make it into a master file first and then upload to YouTube from my browser instead?IMO, using YT uploader is more reliable.
Although I responded differently to your other thread, based on the additional info here, it sounds like you might have a bad render file. I'd suggest you:
turn off background rendering;
delete project render files
without rendering, export a short section of your project to a Pro Res master file.
If that works. d the whole movie with the YT uploader.

I import video footage into Final Cut Pro 7, added some effects like motion blur and colour correction, and cannot playback the video whilst it is not rendered. I click the play button but it just says "general error". This also happens when trying to export to my desktop "general error" once again. Does anyone know what is going on?
My RT settings are:
Safe RT or Unlimited RT (I get the error on either setting)
Framerate & video quality - Dynamic
27" iMac i7 @ 3.4GHz
4GB Ram
2GB Radeon 6970mHmmmm it seems to be just that file. The rest of my files are fine. I tweaked some settings and tried other files and it worked, so maybe it was just me, I am very new to Final Cut after all. Turns out I'm OK now! Thanks anyway!

what does the error message that says " You are logged out because another computer is using this IP address." mean?
Some other piece of network ghardware on your home LAN (Local Area Network) is using the IP address your Mac is trying to use.
Reboot both your modem and router, or the Modem/Router combo box you have, and all pieces of networking equipment, computers and printers, you have connected to your LAN.
If you continue to get that error then it is a bug in OS X or you have your Mac set to a Static IP address that is being handed out by the routers DHCP server to some other device. -

I store any file that I save onto my external drives so that I don't fill up my main hard drive.....( I label each external hard drive by year + alpha, such as 14a, 14b etc.) Is that a problem? Any suggestions?
I know iMovie works from the main iMac HD and therefore needs to find the file that I want in the external drive, such as when I "import" a file from an external such as 14a into iMovie that has been previously downloaded onto the external 14a (I download all SD cards & tapes to externals)......and it sounds like you're saying that is causing iMovie problems because the file is not so easily accessible for iMovie?
I assume that iMovie processes the file that I have "imported" into an "iMovie Event" on my iMac HD. I label that version as say "NLGE 3000E" for my 3000th movie, Event version, "events" that is always rough.
After I have imported media as an event and have labeled an event, "NLGE 3000E," then I go to "new movie" that I assume is a "project".....and I label that version "NLGE 3000P1"...."P" for "project" and "1" for the first edition....also to help me keep track of where my movies go. I focus on "Projects" then when editing ...and watch which edition I am editing and which edition appears where.
I learned that I need to "share" all movies from "Projects" to save......and store my final versions on my external drive, 14a (eg) so that I am sure that I have a retrievable copy. I try to share to YouTube from iMovie and succeeded 1/10 tries.
Evidently a movie is not saved unless it is in "theater"?

Has anyone received an error message of "there is not enough disk space to complete this operation" when trying to export a photo from iphoto? If so, how did you resolve it?
How much free disk do you have? How many and what size of photos do yu have that you are trying to export?

how can i stop an error message that comes up when i am using word? the error message is "word is unable to save the Autorecover file in the location specified. Make sure that you have specified a valid location for Autoreover files in Preferences,…"
It sounds like if you open Preferences in Word there will be a place where you can specify where to store autorecover files. Right now it sounds like it's pointing to somewhere that doesn't exist.

I am trying to download the new version of itunes 11.0 but am getting an error message that reads "Feature your trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" Does anybody know how to resolve?
Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

When trying to open ITunes, I got an error message of msvcr80.dll can not be found.
Assuming that it was an iTunes file, I reinstalled iTunes.
Trying to open again, I got an error message of an appication is trying to open a library file incorrectly.
How do I resolve this problem.

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
