  • Visual Composer and BI Consumer Services questions

    Hi experts,
Does anybody know if, with VC 7.1 EhP1, it is possible to use the BICS service on a separate BI java instance? The reason I am asking is that we have the following systems:
    BI (ABAP) 7.0 EhP1
    BI (java) 7.0 EhP1
    CE 7.1 EhP1
and most probably, both BI java & ABAP systems will evolve together at a different pace than de CE system. With that in mind, maybe it is recommanded to use the BICS services hosted on the BI java instead of CE.
If you have any opinions or recommandations on the subject, I will be more than happy to hear about them.
    Nathalie

    Hey Grace,
It is very much possible... to access BI Java (7.0 ehp1) you create a system in your CE 7.1 portal (system administration) and in query wizard of VC select this system... In this way you can access all queries of BI in VC CE 7.1.
to access BI ABAP system... you can create RFC destinations in your CE -> netweaver administration -> RFC destinations / Jco destinations.
we are also following same landscape.... let me know if you have anymore questions...

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Service Map Iview:The Service Map iView is an ERP-specific variant of the portal Workset Map iView. It serves as a central point of entry and guided access to the services of SAP service modules such as the Manager Self Service (MSS) module, or the Employee Self Service (ESS) module.
Workset Map iview:A Workset Map is the equivalent of a site map, providing users with explicit information on the functionality that is available in a given workset. It is based on an iView, and serves as a central point of entry and guided access to the contents of a workset.
if you want to more info pls go thr the below thread

i hope it will help you

  • Query as Web Services!!! What are its uses and why do we need it?

What are its uses and why do we need it.. if other tools like Dashboard and crystal reports and Webi can connect to universe and create reports and Analytics...

    Hello  Rajsan Madhavarajan
Query as a Web Service (QaaWS) is a SAP Business Objects (BOBJ)  client-side tool that allows users to create and publish Web Services that can be made available over the Web.  Once these web services are created and published,  they can be consumed like any other standard Web Service in software applications including Xcelsius and Crystal Reports.   But first we have to understand what exactly is a Web Service.
    Web Service
A Web Service is a software system that supports  interoperable interaction over a network from one computer or machine to another but is more commonly defined as a client and a server communicating data over the Web using the HTTP Protocol. Using Web Services along with Business Objects allows a live connection of data to be used in applications such as Xcelsius and Crystal Reports through a semantic layer called a Universe.
Query as a Web Service (QaaWS)
The two main components in QaaWS are the Client Tool and the Server.  The QaaWS Client Tool gives the end user an easy to use wizard that allows them to create Universe queries and publish them as Web Services.  Once the QaaWS is published, any user can securely access the data that the Web Service contains as long as they have access to that server. Have a look on  image below that shows the information flow to and from the server via the client.
    Advantages to QaaWS:
Very easy to use and intuitive interface Familiar look and feel for people who have used Web Intelligence
Leverages existing Business Objects Universes Shares metadata with Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence and Crystal Reports
    Maintains Business Objects Enterprise Security
Allows live data feeds to be incorporated into Xcelsius Dashboards and Crystal Reports

  • Disgusted after sales service and consumer service

    Hi,
Being sent on a business trip from France to Russia (to Bratsk) and having problems with my PC, I made a decision to purchase a smartphone Blackberry in order to be able to work on my emails and to be able to use a BBM with my colleagues for business conversations.
The official partner of Blackberry in Russia is Beeline. Before choosing the phone, I have informed the vendor about the options I need. He has recommended me a BB Torch 9800.
The same evening, having my new BB in my hand in the hotel room, I have discovered that Wi-Fi is not available for BB. This option didn´t simply exist in the phone!!!
Next morning I went back to the shop and wanted to return the phone and get my money back. No chance!
I was refused and another vendor gave me very long explanation saying:  I can use Wi-Fi only if I get the software updated via Inet.  That Wi-Fi option is blocked because of request of Federal Security Department, as BB’s server is based in Canada…that it is out of their control etc… that the customer service for BB doesn’t even exist in Russia. Finally, IwasadvisedtouseinternetprovidedbyBeeline (notforfreeofcourse) andthediscussionwasover.
It was very "kind" of him to give me all this information I did't really need after he received my money.
The software was updated after several trials, but the access to I-net is still limited, and BBM is forbidden for use in Russia no matter what.
After second unsuccessful attempt to return or change the phone I’ve contacted the Federal service for protection of consumers' rights. According to their answer, I have to PROVE the lack of information or the fact of wrong information given to me by vendor! Seems to be impossible, as normal and trustful consumer I don’t have a recorder in my pocket while shopping.
I feel that the aftersales/consumer service needs serious attention and I will not purchase another BB again.
I feel abused, deceived and deluded by Beeline, as well as by BB, choosing such a crook as a partner...

  • What is the  Merits and De-Merits if we choose Item or Service Items.

    Hi,
Please guide me what are the merits and de merits if we choose Items or Service Items when we are adding AR Invoice under AR Modules.we are using SAP B1 43.
Item: Item to create a sales document for items defined in the Inventory module
Service Item:Service to create a sales document for a service that has not been defined as an Item in SAP Business One, such as a one-time consultation. please share your points.
    Regds,
    Samapth Kumar Devunuri.

    Hi Samapth,
It is clear based on the definition you known.  Depending on you business process, the more of the item types, the better.  That is because you can do all kinds of analysis and breakdown the accounting details easily.  Service types are usually only applied to one time or small amount sales.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • HT204053 What are the pros and cons of 1) choosing to use the SAME Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or 2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides

All is in the title, so I repeat it below with a better identation.
What are the pros and cons of
    1) choosing to use the SAME
Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and
purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or
    2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides"?
    P.S.
I have loads and loads of free podcasts in iTunes in my iMac, that are certainly more thant the 5 gigas the iCloud provides for free, so I don't want those to go to the cloud. But this is perhaps a different question...
Also need to mention that I have itunes on a mac, a pc and an iphone.
Sorry to look so silly with this question, but I don't get the "big picture".

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

  • Error message saying this device cannot be used because Apple mobile device service is not started.  What does this mean and how do I start service....had these devices for over a year now??

When I tried to sync my iphone 4 and ipad in iturnes, an error message popped up saying this device cannot be used because Apple Mobile Device service is not started!  What does that mean and how do I start service?  I've had these devices for over a year and update and sync regularly and have never seen this message before!

I got that message yesterday. I'm new at this so don't know if this is the correct solution but it worked for me. I reset my iPod by holding the 2 buttons down until the apple appears AND I restarted my computer. After that everything worked.

  • What is business systems and services?

    Hi Experts,
What is business systems and services and where are they prefered? and tell me the diff between them...
    Regards,
    Mahakrishnan T.

    Hi
    Business System
    1) Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system.
    2) Also SLD entry is required.
3)It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
4)This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.
5(Business systems refers to the physical systems, for instance the R/3 system. You define the business systems in the SLD
    Business Service
    1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.
    2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.
    3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
    4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.
5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

    Hello DEstadt,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

  • What shall i do? I've done restoring my iphone 3gs and still stuck on cannot activate and contact customer service.

I've done restoring my iphone 3gs and still stuck on cannot activate and contact customer service. What shall i do? any help please.

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
