What is Apple's criteria for submission of independent music?

Our independent label filled out the online application for iTunes. It was rejected without any reason provided. What is Apple's criteria? Anyone know? Or know how to find out? Note: we tried replying to the rejection email and it was returned as undeliverable.

Sorry, but we're all just your fellow users here, so none of us have much in the way of insight into the iTMS criteria.
I also don't know of any contact where you could get more information about the rejection, though I suppose you could try the iTMS Marketing link:
[email protected]
I would guess that the iTMS just gets too many applications to be able to customize a rejection message to the specific circumstances.
You might want to consider signing up with an indie label or marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.

  • What does Apple mean by "For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete."

I just recently returned an IPad air and exchanged it for another. I first set up this new one as a new IPad but then deleted all content and settings right away (since I wasn't getting the progress I had made in apps and games) in order to restore it from my previous IPad Air. I then checked after on how to backup via icloud and saw this line under the subtitle of how to restore from a backup, "For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete." What does Apple mean by "for best battery performance"? Im just a bit worried of issues.
p.s. And yes I did have it connected to the power. And the ios is the default ios for new IPad Airs.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It only means you should restore whilst it is connected to a power supply, so that your battery doesn't go flat during the process.

  • My iPhone 4G won't pair to my Acura TL after an update. Others are also having the same proble. What is Apple's fix for this?

My iPhone won't pair to my Acura TL's Bluetooth. It worked fine when i first got it, and my iPhone 3GS paired flawlessly. Other on the 'Net have posted that their 4G won't pair with Bluetooth devices after the 4.0 update. What is Apple's fix for this?

Actually, I don't let the phone discharge as a matter of habit. But you know you cant always get the charger to the phone in time, especially if you leave the house for more than a few hours. So now and then the battery dies. And doesn't Apple recommend completely discharging then recharging the phone from time to time.
Anyway, the network here is solid. Like I said, this is a problem since I updated to ios7 and only occurs when the battery is discharged. It's a phone issue, not a carrier one.

  • What is the strict criteria for a Pure Object Oriented Language ?

Can a fully object oriented language qualify as a pure Object Oriented Language.fF not what are the exact criteria for qualifying a language as Pure Object Oriented Language.Any examples of both would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

I guess you can check the link
    http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=31&threadID=725662 for this.
I have no idea what point you're trying to make by posting a link to that thread.
Again,if someone thinks that something does not exist, what's the point debating on it.There is no point in debating this.
    I don't care,Me neither.
tell me the definition,Like I already said many times: there exists no widely accepted definition of what a "pure OO language" is!
So, I ask you yet again: what is YOUR definition of such a thing? ANd don't go posting links to articles or other threads: just explain in your own wording of what YOU think a "pure OO language" is, and I'll answer your question by telling you if Java fits that definition.
search on google, why do you need that are not answers to my questions I see it has no use arguing with you: you don't seem to understand me.
,but more irrelevant questions on my simple question.I see a chain of irrelevant question, starting with your original post.

  • What is Apple's substtute for Adobe Flash Player on iPad?

What is Apple's substtute for Adobe Flash Player on iPad?

Until Adobe can develop a version of Flash that works for mobile devices that is stable and doesn't hog memory resources or ***** up battery life, there isn't much anyone can do about this!
Android devices claiming to run Flash are having these issues, too. Steve Jobs and Apple simply won't allow Adobe Flash to with their mobile hardware/software with the state of affairs with Flash, now. If Adobe has a breakthrough and can develop a version of Flash or some sort a content providing software that works and plays well with mobile devices and platforms, the situation may change. For the foreseeable future, Flash is going to be absent on current and future Apple mobile devices.
On another note, PPC Macs are obsolete technology that is, at least 6 years old. OS X 10.5 was the last Mac operating system to still support PPC Mac architecture. This OS is , at least, 3 years old. OS X 10.4 Tiger is, at least 5 years old.
You can't expect either Apple or Adobe,or any hardware/software manufacturer/developer, at this time, to keep supporting older technologies. Especially, anything 5 or 6 years old or more. It's just not cost effective or practical.
Technology marches on. There are many of us, probably, still using PPC Macs, including myself. We're all in the same boat.
At some point, we're going to have to play catch up to the latest and greatest to be able to stay current on the grid and to be current with new technologies, hardware, and software.
I do not think this is a rational reason to jump ship on a company who, arguably, makes the best technology hardware/software integrated devices and computers in the world.

  • What are apple's specifications for acceptable performance

I sent my ipod in for service because it's freezing up on me; on a daily basis... and all i get back is a letter telling me that my ipod is within apple's specifications for acceptable performance. In addition to telling me they've done everthing I've already done to try to resolve my problem. But for some stange reason they never stated what apple's specifications for acceptable performance are. Not to mention you can't find any information on thier website. Anybody know where I can find this information..

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If the iPod is doing as you say, then it is not fine and Apple should repair it.
However, Apple may not have found something in the hardware that is wrong with the iPod.
Have you tried updating and restoring the iPod before?
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
    Updating iPod's Software
    To Restore...
    Restore the iPod
If none of the above works, you may want to call Apple and explain what is wrong and what you have tried. Ask why it was not repaired...

  • What does Apple TV show when you are playing music in iTunes?

I'm considering purchasing Apple TV so I can enjoy my music away from my iMac, and also watch something on the TV screen as well. Does it show cover art or some sort of screensaver?
    It's too old for mirroring.
    Many thanks.

    Hello Winston,
Many thanks for your speedy response. Do you have any control over how long it takes for the screensaver to kick in? Many of my playlists have different cover art for each track.

  • What's apple's plan for preordered iphone 4 customers w.o confimation email

Many people have pre-ordered the iPhone 4 using the Apple website and reached the end to the confirmation page saying what to bring and that we'll receive a confirmation email soon, but hours and days later, handfuls of us have yet to receive the confirmation email. Does that mean that we don't get our pre-ordered iPhones, or will apple come up with a plan that will make the iPhone 4 available to us too? It would not be fair for those of us who thought we have successfully pre-ordered the iPhone 4 and end up not being able to get one on launch day.

I'm not just speaking for myself, but other people on some of these forums have checked everywhere they can and their pre-orders did not go through. I'm wondering what they would do for them. I have not checked myself and will do so tomorrow morning. If I'm one of the unlucky ones to not have their pre-orders go through, I'll be extremely disappointed along with the rest of those people, so I'm just wondering what they will do. If any one knows, I'm sure everyone with the same problem would like to hear about it.

  • What does Apple Care+ cover for accidental?

I plan on getting the extra coverage, what does it cover? When they say it covers accidental coverage for $79 fee, what damage is covered under that?
Note: I plan on buying the coverage for the iPhone 6

    From http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplusnaen.html:
    3.2 Accidental Damage from Handling
If during the Plan Term you submit a valid claim notifying Apple that the Covered Device has failed due to accidental damage from handling (“ADH”), Apple will, subject to the service fee described below, either repair the defect using new or refurbished parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, or (ii) exchange the Covered Device with a replacement product that is new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability (both individually known as a “Service Event”). ADH coverage will expire and all of Apple’s obligations to you under this section 3.2 will be fulfilled in its entirety before the end of the Plan Term when Apple, as a result of ADH claims, has provided to you two (2) Service Events. ADH coverage only applies to an operational or mechanical failure caused by an accident from handling that is the result of an unexpected and unintentional external event (e.g. drops and liquid contact) that arises from your normal daily usage of the Covered Device as intended for such Covered Device. ADH coverage does not include (a) protection against normal wear and tear, theft, misplacement, reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct associated with handling and use of the Covered Device, (b) protection against any other act or result not covered by the Plan, as described in Section 4.2 below, or (c) any resultant damage to the Covered Device that arises from one or more conditions described in Section 3.2(a) or (b). Apple may ask you to provide an explanation of where and when the accident occurred with a detailed description of the actual event. Apple will deny your claim if you fail to pay the service fee or fail to provide information relating to the accident when asked.

  • What is Apple's explanation for the non-working Mute switch?

Somewhere in the thousands of messages I see posted about this astonishing fault, has anyone with more patience than me seen any word of explanation please?
    More important, any proposed fix?

Well, I replied to this several hours ago but it appears to have vanished into electronic limbo.
    In brief:
OK, my slip, hundreds. There were 480 posts at the time of my query, and growing. Some 99% of them appeared to be complaints. Add me to that list.
I asked because I'd hoped someone by now would have the explanation and happily save me the effort of finding it myself.
I have now done so and found what seems a mere footnote:
+"Beginning with iOS 4.2, the switch previously used for screen rotation lock functions as a silence switch for notifications and system sounds. It does not mute audio or video playback."+
Apart from the bad decision to change the switch function, I think that a prominent switch which displays a large symbol widely recognised as a Mute symbol should do just that: *mute everything immediately*. The Settings screen would be more appropriate for configuring non-global options, such as muting on certain events.

  • What is BT's criteria for self installation of Inf...

    Hi,
I'm thinking about getting infinity, and am told by BT that some customers can self-install, but some need an engineer's visit to install.
    Mine needs an engineer's visit
    Does anyone know why I can't self-install?
Also is there an alternative yet to having the face-plate on the phone line socket changed, to incoporate the line filter...which then needs 2 wires coming out of it....one to the router and one to the phone. This would require lots of recabling and wall drilling at my house which is a problem. Why can't I just use an in line filter, as I am doing at the moment?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was actually looking to get 20gb infinity, which I guess is infinity1, and was told that I could not self-install....don't know the reason for this.
When the engineer [not BT employee, but a contractor] came to the house and looked at the job, he said he was going to have to run a second wire from the phone socket, after changing the face-plate. this would have meant running an extra wire around various door frames and drilling through a wall, which I was not prepared to accept as we have just moved house and had new carpets, redecorations etc.
Moving the phone socket nearer the hub is not a practical solution in the house for the same reason.
What I can't quite work out is why the phone socket plate has to be changed, and the new system then needs two wires...one to the hub and a separate one to the phone...why can't it work with a spliter off the main wire to the hub,  with an in-line filter on it to the phone.

  • What is Apple's reason for not letting iPhone 4 owners have Siri??

    I was just wondering...

The iPhone 4S was really just a hardware refresh of the iPhone 4 but with the addition of Siri - the main new feature. I am sure that the iPhone 4 was denied Siri because it would have severely impacted on the number of people willing to upgrade to the new handset.

  • What's the best configuration for a 300+ GB music library?

I'm about to buy an iMac. I want iTunes to run seamlessly. Assuming I purchase the 20" what else should I include? 2 or 2.4 GHz? 1 or 2 GB of Ram? How much internal HD space? I am happy to consider purchasing external HD space. I will be using it mostly for word processing and some low-tech music/video editing. Thanks in advance.

Before I got my new iMac (20" 2.4 ghz) I had my music library, which is about 50 gigs stored on a LaCie external hard drive connected through FireWire 400 and had no problems. As for your other question your LaCie hard drive (like mine it seems, just checked system monitor) may only be capable of 400mb/sec. I'm not sure about their new hard drives but mine is a little more than a year old so this may be the case with yours as well.

  • Need latest Apple terms & cond for profanity in new music uploads

    Hi,
I'd like to know what Apples latest Terms & Conditions are for new music content containing profanity.
I am aware of the title, art or album art has limitations.... but what about the song lyrics themselves?
Can anyone (or Apple rep) weigh-in on this?
    thanx

iTunes Store represenatives will not reply here. The only responses you will receive are from those who, like me, are fellow users.
If you are signed up with the iTunes Store as a content provider, you should be able to log into iTunes Connect and get all the current terms and conditions. If you work through an aggregator, contact them for the current documentation.
    Regards.

  • Key Criteria for Business Intelligence Product Vs Hyperion

    Hi !
Can some one share what are the basic criterias for evaluating which product would fit for a customer site - Oracle BI Vs Hyperion?
    Thanks
    Amit

That's an extremely wide question. Check out these links...they give you a first insight.
    http://cobb.typepad.com/cubegeek/2008/02/obiee-essbase.html
    http://businessintelligencedw.blogspot.com/2008/07/siebel-analytics-obiee-vs-hyperion.html
Otherwise, check Oracles website for the detailled specs and capabilities:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/enterprise-edition.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/essbase/index.html
And here's a link on the evolution of the two:
    http://www.hroug.hr/hr/content/download/3749/52383/file/504_Perica_BI_novosti.pdf
Generally the decision between the two boils down to the actual customer requirements. And it's not unusual to find both products in use for the same solution.
    Cheers,
    C.
