What is "Audible User Name"

I supposedly got the fix for my (-50)error. It came right from Apple. First step is to go into Advanced in Itunes and "Deauthorize Audible Account" I plugged the same user name and password as I always do. and it tells me that my username or password is invalid. Is your Audible use name and Password different from what you use to purchase music?

I have the same problem. I only have one computer and one ipod. However, I have had some problems with my computer and replaced the hard drive a few times recently. I now have 4 authorizations. I tried to deauthorize but it will not accept my itunes user name and password.
Just adding fuel to the fire - maybe someone can help.

I also found not being able to deauthorize the iTunes audible account strange. I have not opened or used an Audible.com account either, if anything i'd expect to see an option to set-one-up. So I went to their site to see if I could find out anything there and noticed right under their logo "An Amazon Company" .
I have shopped there in the past, not for audio books, but on a whim I tried my Amazon.com username and pass in the deauthorize audible account prompt (in iTunes). Yup! No clue why/how but that was it.
Deauthorizing your computer will only disassociate it from Apple stuff like iTunes Match, iTunes Store, etc.

By default the user is left blank and the passowrd is admin. Since you think you know your password try leaving the user blank with your password. Some routers depending on the model do have the default user as admin with a password admin.

Is there a way to access Time Machine files associated with an old user name?

My iMac was running super slow and there was a bunch of programs, etc. that I wanted to get rid of anyway so I thought I would do a "clean install" from my Snow Leopard disc. I moved items on my desktop to my Seagate external drive and then unplugged it. I have had Time Machine saving to it for a long time so I was confident I could just move a few items (pictures, music, etc.) back on to my hard drive when the install was completed. To my surprise, when I went to Time Machine I found the items I had moved from my desktop but no earlier versions of my other files.
In researching this issue a little bit, it appears that perhaps I created a new user name when I did the install and that my historical items are likely still on the Seagate but stored somewhere associated with my old user name. I understand that if I can change my user name back to the original that I may be able to access the items and transfer the items I want. To compound the situation, I have no idea what my old user name even was.
Does this make sense to Mac experts out there?
If so, is there a way to see the old user names and access the Time Machine files?
I've been avoiding telling my wife that I may have lost all our kid photos so I'm desperately hoping someone can help.

The problem is that Time Machine detects your new OS X copy as a new Mac and it doesn't let you access to your backups. To access to them, see > http://pondini.org/TM/E3.html
Another option would be to access to your backups manually. Open a Finder window, select the Time Machine drive in the sidebar and go to Backups.backupdb > your computer's name > one of the backups > your partition's name, and copy the data you want

You shouldn't need to do that. As has been mentioned a million times /home is controlled by the automounter. Most of use use /export/home for home directories which avoids the issue mentioned above altogether.
If i didn't do these, useradd utility does not work, I can add a user alright but that user can't log in and the solaris management console does not work too in my end, i did the installation several times, each time with a different behavior but one thing is common though, the issue I've mentioned.

Keep getting Incorrect user name or password when Binding

I have 24 eMacs at my school and I'm trying to setup a server. When I try to bind, it goes through the 1, 2, 3... then gives me an error message. How do I fix this?? What password and user name do I enter, the clients or the servers password?
Is there anything else I need to do to connect to the server?

Hi David,
Are you using DHCP on your OSX Server?
If so you can simpley check the 'add dhcp supplied servers...' box in Directory Access > LDAP config on your clients. Make sure you enter the LDAP info for DHCP service on your server.
Otherwise, are you sure the password server is running correctly on your server? You can check the server logs to see if there is a problem. It needs port 106 to be open... are you blocking that port with your firewall?

Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

Will apple ever clear an iphone that was purchsed legit but the user name and password is lost. The phone isnt on any black list. Apple should charge a small fee to clear such phones.
