This is not a non-issue.
When this data is collected, it can likely be extracted by specially-made devices connected to the phone. Police have been using such devices to extract photos and other data from phones of unsuspecting citizens who have not consented to or been notified of such a search.
Also, in the case someone does steal your phone or the computer you've been syncing your phone to, they can easily plot your movements over time to find out when you'll be in vulnerable locations or when you won't be at your home or office. This would be handy information for thieves, rapists, and murderers interested in doing away with you or figuring out when your wife and kids will be home without you.
And remember that someone doesn't need to physically steal your phone or computer to get this data. All they need is the data. If they can infiltrate your computer (which is more likely that infiltrating Apple, AT&T, or Verizon's computer systems) they can get all this data without having to step foot in your home. They can then use this data to plan their next move.
Storing this data is just a terrible idea and it really should stop. If you've ever had your personal information hacked, or your identity stolen, you might be more concerned than to call this a non-issue.

Any idea what could have happened to profiles that seem to have disappeared from profile folder?

I wanted to experiment with profiles so I created a new profile called "temp". This seemed to work but when I tried to go back and reselect any of the older profiles I received an error message saying that this couldn't be done while any instance of Firefox was running (none were).
Also, when I opened the Profiles folder I only found the "temp" profile I had just created but none of the other, older profiles even though they were listed in Profile Manager.
I've lost my bookmarks and who knows what else. I did a search of my C drive to see if perhaps the missing profiles might have been located in a folder other than the profiles folder. I even did a search for .sqlite files. I did find some very old versions of my profiles that I had copied over from a previous computer but these did not have my up-to-date bookmarks. Any ideas? Seems crazy, I know. Thanks.

Thank you, cor-el, for this information. It certainly explains why I was getting the message that Firefox was already running.
I can see in my profiles.ini file (see attached image) the (4) profiles that also show up in the profile manager. The the question remains, what happened to the profile file, which I now believe was the "Richard III" profile, that was in use prior to my creating my "temp" profile (that I recently renamed "Feb 2011")? No attempt was made to delete the "Richard III" profile either with the profile manager or otherwise. Simply creating the "temp" profile seems to have blown the "Richard III" profile out of existence, leaving not a trace.
As you can see, the "Richard III" profile's path leads, as usual, to the Profile folder. But only the "temp" profile is found there.
One of the specified paths, the one for the "Richard" profile, leads to a folder that's not directly related to Mozilla. The "Richard" profile (which I used as bases for the "Feb 2011" profile) is a profile that's over a year old. I assume it became the bases, way back when, for the "Richard III" profile, the profile that's apparently vaporized.
I hope this makes sense even if the loss of the "Richard III" profile does not.

Oh the ...olk14_message's. Do not delete them behind Outlooks back, i.e., from the finder. Those are the various messages that you sent, received, or deleted in Outlook. They are indexed by Outlook so if you delete behind Outlook's back Outlook will get confused trying to access those messages.
You can delete them however using Outlook itself. In outlook select a mailbox (Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc.) by clicking on the mailbox on the left. It will show you the messages in that mailbox. You can now select all or selected items in that mailbox. The click the Edit menu and select Delete. You will get a dialog asking if you really want to delete the selections. Answer "Delete" and the messages will get deleted.
The olk14_message's you are seeing are the actual messages shown the Outlook mail boxes. When you actually delete them the way I just described the corresponding olk14_message files will also be deleted.
Note Outlook's Deleted Items mailbox is where all deleted messages go when you click the Delete tool in the Outlook toolbar. Thus using the Delete tool from the toolbar does not permanently delete the messages. So if you been using that for months or years you are going to have a very large Deleted Items mailbox. And every one of those items in there is going to have a corresponding olk14_message file for that message.
So if those olk14_message files you are seeing are from the Deleted Items mailbox you can get rid of all those corresponding olk14_message files by selecting all the messages in Deleted Items and using the Edit menu's Delete.
Alternative ways to the Edit/Delete to do the permanent delete is select (all) the messages to delete and control (right) click to bring up the Outlook contextual menu and select Delete from it.
Finally if you use the Delete tool in the toolbar for messages selected in the Deleted Items mailbox you will be able to permanently delete those too. It's an exception since using the tool on the Deleted Items means there's no place to put those messages except to "oblivion".
So, in summary, using the Delete tool in the toolbar on messages in every mailbox except the Deleted Items mailbox just moves messages to the Deleted Items mailbox. But using the Delete tool on items in them Deleted Items mailbox permanently deletes the selected items in there. And only permanently deleting items removes the corresponding actual ...olk14_message files.

Yes, but then it all has to be done using a script. You can't use the built-in Open A File command.

What is is about the .swf file that is generated from the InDesign CS5 interactive workspace that someone would get the following error message when they go to view the site I created?
"This file may contain newer information that this viewer can support. It may not open or display correctly. Adobe suggests that you upgrade to the latest versions of our Acrobat products blah blah blah."
The site doesn't seem to work for four Mac users, but works fine for at least one PC user.
I'm trying to figure out how to save the .swf file down to Flash Player 9, which I've done by exporting a .fla file, then adjusting the Publish setting in Flash CS5. But that throws a wrench into the works...all the animations go haywire by continuously looping and the scale of all the text elements on the first page is much larger than it should be.

My computer which is a packard bell vista operating system, recently stopped working as the power supply overheated and blew up and it has recently been sent back to the Know How team at PC world and it seems to be since it came back I now cannot open iTunes. I have also tried to search for iTunes in the search bar, I can see several files, but can't seem to open any of these either. I think that quicktime isn't working, either.

I would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

What exactly are these parts that they replaced?

Okay, so I just got my MacBook about 20 minutes ago from a main logic board replacement. Only, it says all these other things that were replaced as well. Can someone tell me WHAT they are?

Any ideas? I am clueless. The only thing I could really make out was that the main logic board and the topcase were reaplaced as well.

(blushes) I would love to for sure, but I don't have the internet on my Mac yet. You see, I've been in the stone ages with my PC, using AOL...dial up! Yes, I know, who really usues dial up anymore? But it's so easy, and I never had any real need to have wireless. Anywho, I cannot seem to configure AOL to work on the MacBook with a dial up, so I am forced to use my PC (which I am on right now)for my internet needs until I start school again in a couple of weeks (have a free ethernet connection in my dorm room).
Is this something I can download onto my PC, burn to a disc, and THEN transfer it to my MacBook? Or is that totally unheard of and crazy?

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)

Almost every time I open a new page, and that page has an ad with movement or video, the browser page hides behind other open pages. This is really annoying.

I don't see any evidence that this is malware. For instance i opened a page that was for a major newspaper from Dallas. As i reached my cursor to the page, it hid behind the other pages, and i had to now reach down to my taskbar to find it again. When i did, i saw an ad on the page with movement (flash?). Anyway, the ad was for breast cancer awareness, and was made by that newspaper, which is why i think it has nothing to do with malware. Same thing happens everyday with normal sites like Yahoo. Anytime an ad has movement or video, the page is only visible for a second, then hides behind the others. This has really become a major annoyance.

Very strange behavior. Don't entirely give up on the "Manually Added Items" category ... I have seen things magically appear there even after I've checked and seen nothing there. I think things got real quirky when Apple released iCloud ... I don't remember extra copies of purchases lingering on my iPhone once transferred to my library before that. Sure, if I bought an album directly to my iPhone it would stay on there even after I sync to my library, but if I deleted the album from the iPhone it stayed deleted. Now it seems that there are some phantom copies that come and go with no explanation.

If you're re-downloading an album to iTunes and your iPhone, that may perpetuate the problem. What happens if you completely delete every copy of the album, then just download to your iTunes library and then sync the album to your iPhone from your library? A few other things to try:
1- Completely sign out of your Apple account on your iPhone, then re-sync to iTunes, then sign into your account on your iPhone again. Maybe throw in a Reset or at least a power OFF/ON somewhere in the middle.
2- Go to Settings/ General/ Usage, then select Music and when you see All Music, swipe your finger across it and tap the Delete button. Before doing anything else, Reset your iPhone.
