What is best encoding/sizing option?  Premiere Pro/Encore

I have heard some people say that assets should be encoded before being brought into encore, others say to use dynamic link.  If I am going to go the encode first route, I would do this in Premiere Pro CS5.
If I am taking a 720 X 540 (1.0)  30.0 fps 48000 hz Mpeg 4 asset and want to convert this to dvd what is the best setting in Premiere Pro?
Do I create a sequence which is 720 X 480 (0.9091)   29.97    48000 hz and then when exporting use the following settings:
Format  MPEG 2 DVD
Preset    Match Source attributes highest quality
Or do I change this to custom settings:
Format:  MPEG2
Preset   Custom
Change the quality setting to 5
TV Standard NTSC
Frame rate   Do I leave it at the default of 29.97 or do I change this to 30?
Pixel Aspect Ratio- Do I leave this at standard 4:3 (0.909) or change this to square pixels (1.0)?
Profile and Main do I leave these at the defaults?   Main
Does it make any difference if the ultimate output will be on a 25 GB blu ray disk?
Encore CS5
Premiere Pro CS5
Quad Core 2.4 GHZ
6 GB memory
Windows 7 64 bit
nvidia geforce 8500
700Gb free space on hard drive

Use an MPEG2-DVD preset.  DVD is very strict about the specifications of video files.  Using a generic MPEG preset allows things to be thrown off spec.

    Hi All,
I just wanted to point out some new video training, totally free of charge, called, "What's New and Changed in Premiere Pro CS5.5." Todd Kopriva flew all the way to Austria's "Video2Brain" studios to record these detailed tutorials and I think they're very good. Have a look gang, and see what you think!

Thanks, Todd, much appreciated. Such information is always welcomed by all users (at all levels), I'm sure.

What is best track pad for Mac Pro laptop with mountain lion

Honestly, the one right in front of your keyboard. It's hard to do better than that one, and the Magic Trackpad is just an external duplicate of that. In fact, my dad has one for his iMac, and I seem to recall that there are one or two things I can do with my built-in trackpad that he can't do with his Magic Trackpad... though my faulty memory means I couldn't tell you what those things are at this point.

  • What monitor best works with the MAC Pro

I'm thinking of buying a MAC PRO. What Monitor best works with a MAC Pro?

Whatever Monitor you like, exclusively. There are adapters available for everything.
Analog VGA is not a good idea. It's a Digital world. But it can be done if you want.
A TV set is not a Monitor. TV sets are for moving pictures, and may do badly with stable pictures, fine lines, parallel lines, smooth-edged text, and adjacent patches of bright colors.
Wider than 1920 needs special attention to details.

    Dear Mr. Smith,
I have since cancelled my CC Premiere Pro account.
Adobe sent a verification email to mbattaglia@1100kfnx_com. Since I am not that person, I had no access to that email account; therefore I could not activate the account.
The Creative Cloud exe file wouldn’t work. I opened it and it looked like it was going to run and then it just disappeared off of the task manager.
Since Adobe pulled an email address from my email account, I can only assume the Adobe is involved in the act of Data Mining and now they have all of my email contacts and more.
Five stars for Adobe and their Creative Cloud of Confusion.
    Very disappointed… but not surprised,

  • What is the best laptop to run Premiere Pro cc?

    Hi everyone,
I've been having a lot of problems with Premiere cc since I downloaded it a few months ago and am now realising the problem is with my computer.  I have a late 2012 Macbook Pro, 2.5 ghz, 8gb Ram, intel hd 4000 processor which just doesn't seem to have the juice to run Premiere pro smoothly.  If I do any kind of editing, even just colour correction, the footage gets very sticky when playing back in Premiere.  if I try anything advanced like adding warp stabilier the program crashes.  I also bought magic bullet looks and I can barely open it without the whole computer having a meltdown.
This has been extremely frustrating and has made working with Premiere pro a nightmare.  I am now planning to buy a new laptop/pc and am looking for suggestions on what to buy.  i am looking for best bang for my buck.  While I would be willing to spend over a £1000 I would obviously prefer not to if I don't  have to.  I thought my Macbook Pro would have more than enough horsepower to handle it and have been left dissapointed and frustrated so would really appreciate some advice from the wider Adobe community on this.  I am also open to suggestions on desktops, not just laptops.
    Thanks!
    Tony

    Hi Jim,
I am using it solely for wedding videography so it quite basic stuff.  I am filming on a canon 7d and really just looking or something that I can edit the footage with and put on some light effect/colour grading.  I am not able to say what level of effects I will be needing to use as at the minute when i try anything other than basic editing the programme has a stroke.  Like I mentioned I have Magic Bullet Looks suite sitting waiting for me but I haven't even had a chance to try it out.  One effect I really like but know that it is processor draining is some warp stabiliation .  There are certain shots it really lends itself to but I just bought myself a nice monpod and fluid head so shouldn't need that anymore.
Last night I tried downloading Premiere cc onto my girlfriends £500 basic desktop and to my great surprise everthing ran like a dream! (compared to my computer anyway).  Is this normal, that a cheap desktop would so comprehensively outperform a 12 month old Macbook Pro?  I am wondering if there is an unresolved problem with the macbook itself.
To give you an example, if i have put warp stabilisation on a clip on my macbook I have to put it at 1/4 resolution for it to playback and even then it is extremely choppy and sticky and sometimes crashes the programme.  Last night on the budget desktop I was able to put it to full resolution and it played smoothly, just like it would if it had been exported.
Any advice you could give on this would be much appreciated.  ive been round the traps with apple and adobe tech guys and neither of them can find anything wrong with the computer or the programme.
    Thanks,
    Tony

  • H.264 encoding issues with Premiere Pro CC 2014

After updating to Premiere Pro CC 2014 yesterday, I see encoding artifacts on my H.264 exports.
Same source video imported into CC v2014 and v7, and exported using the YouTube 1080p 29.97 fps settings. The artifacts manifests itself as softness/blurriness in parts of the image every few seconds, especially notice the area with a red circle below.
Here are the source file (GoPro HERO3 Black Edition), the v2014 render and the v7 render.

This is a known issue introduced in CC2014.0. Some h.264 encodes have blurriness or noise periodically in some areas of the frame. The problem is most pronounced in regions of the frame with very little detail, like grass or pavement--or the T-shirt in the sample frame. We are working on a fix. Before you ask when the patch will be forthcoming, I'm not authorized to even hint at the timeframe.
Unfortunately, the only real workaround is to export to a format other than h.264. If that's not an option for you, then your best bet is probably to keep working in CC7.2.2 until the patch is released.
Sorry, but thats not completely true and by far not the correct answer:
The problems with random artifacts occurred with the introduction of a new version of H264 in CS6 but there you still had the option to export with the previous H264 Version via Media Encoder.
Since the previous H264 version is not available in CC, using CC7.2.2 is not a solution either.
    BTW
Updating to CC and using the new Mac Pros with Mavericks is currently a total mess - no open cl rendering, random crashes, no usable h264 ... thanks adobe!!
... but we can track masks in premiere now ... wow!

  • What is best BD-R option for price

I just upgraded from DV to HDV and am getting used to a new AG-AC160A camcorder and Premiere Pro CS5. The learning curve is becoming more costly than expected with the price of BD-R disks. Any thoughts on what the best option is for least expensive, but reliable disks Blu-Ray disks for practicing? I have used Verbatim 25GB 6x. I thought I read somewhere that I should not be using rewritable disks for video. Thank you.

its just that some video PLAYERS ( home dvd and blu ray players ) CANNOT play RW discs...
I have a pretty new polaroid TV ( 720p ) flat screen with a built in DVD player. It cannot play RW discs.
So if you make discs you have to know if the player can play it... like, say you make a disc for you brother.. ask him if his player can play RW or etc....
the lowest common denominator is just simple .... no RW....and then the most players will be able to play that disc..
    thats the only reason.
computers can more or less play everything in comparison to the home stuff...know what I mean ?
I like verbatim too.... from what I hear most people like that brand.
    good luck

  • Use Media Encoder CS5 in Premiere Pro CS4?

Is there a way to use the Media Encoder CS5 (64bit) with CS4 Premiere Pro (32bit)? The problem is: I only have Premiere CS4 (and not CS5), but I have Adobe Design Premium CS5 (which includes the new Media Encoder, but not Premiere).

but to automatically open up AME CS5 ... hmmm.. maybe a hack?
No, that will not work. Even if you have Audition 4.0 installed (beta), edit in Audition from CS5 will only access Audition 3.0.
The only way to try it is to open AME CS5, go to File/Add Premiere Pro Sequence and select the CS4 project and then the correct sequence.

  • Best Training Materials for Premiere Pro?

I'm a long time pro veteran of Photoshop, but fairly new to video editing and a total noob w Premiere Pro CC  (and after effects) I want to get on the fast track learning Premiere Pro and guess that taking an online video course is the most efficient path.
I don't know if there are any courses yet for Premiere Pro CC 2014, but I suspect that I can make do with a good CC course. There's Lynda.com, and the Pearson/Adobe Press/Peachpit series (perhaps others that I haven't found yet) I'm not seeing much in the way of online reviews for these. Any forum denizens have useful opinions to share?
I have only used iMovie, and GoPro Studio2. I prefer video training for general learning, with printed books (or PDF) for reference.
    Thanks!

    I second Lynda also.
    These are for free.

  • What is it like to run Premiere Pro on The New MacBook 12 inch?

I like the MacBook 12 inch but I don't know if it would run Premiere Pro well.

Since the hardware in the new Mac Pro is so radically different from the old Mac Pro, the chance of it running anything older then what ships with is probably zero.
