What is better sky fire or flv for gaming sites

You cannot play flash games on the iPad.
Skyfire only plays back video from some sites.
Any browsers claiming to play flash do so by sending the video to their computer, transcoding it to mp4, then stream it to you.

  • What is better when converting analog video for FCE, Canopus100/110/300/or5

    All,
What is better when converting analog video for FCE, Canopus100/110/300/or500? I have a new MACPRO with FCE HD and I wanted to convert some of my older video that was recorded on a HI8 Camcorder... Thanks.

I have the ADVC-100 (older model) and ADVC-110. They are identical except that the ADVC-110 does not come with an AC power adapter. Currently sells for about $220USD. If all you need to do is convert from HI8 tapes, the ADVC100/110 will do the job quite nicely.
The ADVC300 adds some enhancements for video signal cleanup, but at a higher price. Currently sells for about $450USD. The ADVC500 is overkill for home use.

  • What app would you recommend to use for using sites that run flash player ???.

Want to start using some different sites that use flash player, any suggestions as to what app to install on my iPad 2 ????.

About.com has a decent list of browsers available for the iPad that will help you play Flash content.

  • What is code fix for Internet Exp. 6 and 7 for my site?

My posted site <cumccda.org> is not presenting
correctly in Internet Explorer 6 and 7. I was under the impression

  • Upgrading my MacBook to maximize its use for gaming

    Hello Everyone,
I have a MacBook I bought in Jan. of '08: 80 Gig HD, 1 gig ram, 2.0 processor speed. I have not played a game on a computer since my Apple 2E and need some advice. What upgrades would make this machine suitable for gaming?
    Thanx,
    JBN

You can upgrade its RAM to the maximum of 4 GB if it is a later Core2Duo (earlier ones with a 667 Mhz frontside bus only supported 3 GB of RAM), and you can put in a 500 GB hard drive that 9.5 mm and 2.5".
However, any games which require an ATI or nVidia graphics card will be nearly unplayable if they depend on GPU power. Unfortunately the MacBook depends on shared memory from its Intel GPU.

  • What is better for security?  WPA2 or Access control

I have a Airport express and 2 computers; a Mac and a PC.
When it come to securing your wi-fi connection so you don't get unauthorized clients on your network.
    What is better
A- Just using encryption like WPA2 or some other password based system or
B- Just entering the "Airport ID" (MAC) of the computers I want to authorize in my network on the Access control panel.
Seems to me like the later is easier on the clients since they don't need a password or anything, It's completely transparent for the client. And I believe encryption slows down the connection a bit and create overhead for the computer. But maybe I don't have the full picture of the situation.
Is there anybody who can illuminated this subject for me?
    thanks
    PowerBookG4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)

WPA2 is virtually uncrackable only really vulnerable if you use a real word as a password.
When using access control, MAC addresses are sent unecrypted can be read and spoofed and therefore do not add any security.
Unfortunately "Closed" networks, MAC access control lists, and reduction in transmission power are all more "feel good" security rather than real security. All these various approaches are dated and mistakenly lead to overconfidence.
WPA is your friend if you value wireless security.

  • What is better Mac Mini or Mac Pro and 4K 40" screen or iMac 5K for work with Exel

I am working on Macbook pro retina for around 16 hours a day,  it is ok but the screen is to small. I am opening about 25 - 30 EXCEL windows, 20 - 25 safari windows at the same time. Excel windows are small, they only show 40 rows and S column   Now I am considering buying  iMac 5k ( but the screen is only 27", however a very high resolution but I think that fonts and digits displayed may be too small ). I am also considering Mac Mini or Pro with 40" 4K TV ( 4k computer monitors are 27 - 31" , so better idea would be purchasing iMac 5k ) . The problem is that 40 - 42" TV don't have Display Port ( I can't find  it anywhere )
Please help me to choose what would suit my needs better. I need large screen to work comfortably with an Excel sheets.  What is better? Mac Mini or Mac Pro and 4K 40" screen or iMac 5K for work with Excel ?. The other problem I have is that when I spend  16 hours at work with retina macbook , my eyes are ok. Using the  30'' Dell screen 2560/1440 my eyes are tired after 2 hours.
Thanks for your help on advance
    Best regards
    David

Currently you can only get 4 K at 30 Hz via HDMI. Some users have reported jerky curser movement because of the 30 Hz.
I would go for the 5K iMac. You can add a second screen at 4K.
    FaceTime HD camera
Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on an external display
Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes
    The Mac Mini supports:
Support for up to two displays at 2560 by 1600 pixels, both at millions of colors
    Thunderbolt digital video output
    Native Mini DisplayPort output
DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (sold separately)
VGA output using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (sold separately)
Dual-link DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (sold separately)
    HDMI video output
Support for 1080p resolution at up to 60Hz
Support for 3840-by-2160 resolution at 30Hz
Support for 4096-by-2160 resolution at 24Hz
The 2013 Mac Pro can use three and more displays:
Mac Pro (Late 2013): Using multiple displays - Apple Support
I would go for multiple screens

  • So what is better - time efficient - Google Sketch or Strata 3d SE for ibooks author use?

So what is better - time efficient - Google Sketch or Strata 3d SE for ibooks author use?

Yes, but I doubt if my definition of ease-of-use is the same as yours.
As always with these types of questions, the best method is to work with both, on your machine, using your environment, your content, your specs, your resources, with your time and then decide.

  • I don't know what i need. I'am a mac user but i need to run quick books premier. This is the only software i need in windows 7. Could i have some advise in  what is better for me, Bootcamp or parallels

I don't know what i need. I'am a mac user but i need to run quick books premier. This is the only software i need in windows . Could i have some advise in  what is better for me, Bootcamp or Parallels

The Intuit rep said they don't "support" QuickbooksPremier on a "virtual machine." Do you know what I risk by using it, anyway? thanks for the advice about Boot Camp vs Parallels, BTW!
I use QuickBooks Pro for Mac, so I haven't had need to try any of the Windows versions in a VM. But I can't think why it wouldn't work. From within the VM, QuickBooks Premier would believe it is operating on PC hardware within Windows.
I would guess they mean that the multiple user support wouldn't work from within the VM. But I would think that would also work. Windows can see the Internet from within the VM, which means it can see your network. So if Windows can see the network, then QB Premier should be able to, too.
I know you can get Parallels as a demo, and maybe you could get QB Premier as trial software. So if you already have a retail copy of Windows to load into a VM, it would only cost you time to test what's possible.

  • What is better for flowmeter totalization

What is better for flowmeter totalization, a pulsetrain or current loop? I have the option of using a pulsetrain or a 4-20mA loop. Would I have to integrate if the current loop is chosen?

If you use flowmeters with switch-type sensing (flips over when a given fluid chamber is full), your input signal is digital: a pulse.
It is most obvious to use a counter (available on many DAQ-cards) to totalise the amount of pulses.
Integration of analog signals (like 4-20mA) may give trouble due to drift (non-zero inputs).

  • What is better for a MBP, shut down or sleep?? when you go to bed.

hi everyone, my question is, what is better for a MBP, to shut it down o sleep, i undestand to pun it into sleep when you go out for a time, or you need to move, but what shoul i do when i go to bed and the mac won´t be use for about 8 hours.
    thanks regards

If you don't have any documents or programs open that need to stay open for the night then give your Mac a rest and Shut it down.
If you're updating or have stuff loaded that you want to start back on right in the morning, you could just put it to sleep so you're all set for the morning(make sure you plug it in though). It's personal preference really.
