What is Buffer allowed but switched off?

Sir in table attributes What is Buffer allowed but switched off?

Hi Saurabh,
All objects (programs, tables, function modules, transaction codes etc.,) developed by anybody other than SAP will have to start with either a Y or a Z.
You will not be able to change the tables delivered by SAP unless you have a special permission from SAP.
Now, if you have got a standard table which is delivered by SAP (which does not begin with a Y or a Z), then either it would have the buffering attribute set or it is fully buffered. And this should generally not be changed.
But if there's a table that you have developed, then you can choose the buffering type as you wish.
I can't think of a reason why an SAP table would be delivered with the "buffering allowed but switched off" option. It could <i>probably</i> be so in cases where the table is recommended for generic-record buffering, but SAP wants you to decide which key should be used. This is a relatively remote scenario, but seems a <i>plausible</i> explanation. And almost in all such cases, there would be an SAP note for the same.
By the way, hvae you been able to find any standard table which has got this option for buffering? If yes, then please gimme the name of the table and I will try to find out more details..
Regards,
Anand Mandalika.

  • ""buffering allowed but switch off", what is it for?

    Hi Gurus
I was wondering what does it mean in reality when table have set "buffering allowed but switched off"? What's the difference between "buffering not allowed"?
I'm asking because in Code inspector I'm getting errors about omiting SAP buffers in queries. Problem is that I'm accessing table that has set "buffering allowed but switched off". SAP told me that this is behaviour of code inspector is ok and I think it should be treated as if table has set "buffer not allowed" (so in result no warning from code inspector should pop up). Could you help me with my doubts?

    Hi,
    on help.sap.com is written:
"Buffering allowed but switched off: The application does not prevent buffering. Application programs accessing the table execute correctly both with and without table buffering. Table buffering is not activated in the standard profile because the table size and the table accesses are not yet known.
Table buffering can be activated at any time in the particular installation by specifying a buffering type."
I think that when Mark Gill in thread [What is Buffer allowed but switched off?|Re: What is Buffer allowed but switched off?; wrote: "Standard tables that have option one (Buffering not allowed) should never be buffered by the customer. Standard tables with option two (Buffering allowed but switched off) are tables that SAP have found can improve performance when buffered but can also cause problems when buffered for some customers, i.e. they can be buffered but it is very dependant on the customer's installation (perhaps very sensitive to different customising settings). If a customer's technical team believes buffering standard tables delivered with option two could be beneficial then they could switch buffering on. Standard tables delivered with option one should never be buffered at any customer site.
So, standard tables delivered with option two, are potential candidates for buffering after a thorough analysis by the technical team members.", he was right and he has explained it good enough.

  • Macbook a1181 starts to power up but switches off

Starts to power up from either mains supply or battery, but always switches off after anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes. Chimes, usually gets as far as screen coming on etc but then you hear the power cut and it just switches off  (sometimes gets as far as login screen). Any ideas? Have tried NVRAM reset SMC etc.

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X

  • My iphone 5 was working this morning fine with a full charge but switched off and won't turn back on. I have held the buttons to switch it back on and tried to plug it in iTunes but nothing. Any help?

    Please read title

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • System doesn't want to switch off(arch+notebook)

I just have installed the system. I have installed only base packages from new core image. System works good but doesn't want to switch off. After using shitdown -h now or poweroff or halt all as usally but after appearance inscription Power off nothing is going on.
If I nothing to do in the system then it swithes off good. But when I am mounting disks for example then the same problem. If I am mounting disk then unmounting all is good. With mounted disks which I didn't touch during installing system very  rare swith off correctly but without them always all is good. It seems strange for me... what relationship between mounting and switching off...maybe it's just coincidence..I don't now.
Maybe something wrong with acpi? While only base-packeges are in the system. Maybe it needs other packages for notebook?
What do you think? And by the way, excuse my english)

  • VBLOG Delete Switched Off

SAP 2T SD certification allows for "switching off VBLOG delete". I'd assume this reduces the overhead of deletion of records from VBLOG table at the expense of disaster/recovery.
I'd like to measure the performance impact. My question is - how can I switch off VBLOG deletes? Thanks!

Hey, same thing happened with me. my iphone was all black screen but if people trying to call me they hear its ringing but my phone is dead.
Just try to dial ur number from another device n listen wat it says. If its ringing but ur iphone is still black screen. keep calling ur number till the battery of ur iphone is all drained. when u hear it is switched off, put it on charging, it will come up to life.
    tell me if it works.

  • IPhone should not be switched off when screen is locked

Why we can switch off iPhone when it is locked? when phone is locked it should not allow to switch off.
Is this a bug or desired functionality?
Also I just found that if someone else register my iPhone with his/her apple id then it will never show any alert. So find my iPhone app is total waste. This app is good only if your phone is registered with your apple id.
Hope apple knows this problem, if not then this is really hopeless and not acceptable from them.
    Thanks,
    Yogi

1st of all, tyvm for your reply, really appreciated
question though, are you 100% sure about it ?

  • Mini Mac Switches Off.

    *Wits End,*
My mac mini 2009 model has recently started switching off I have tried the SMU reset with no success, the unit is stubborn to switch back on and I have to hold the on button in for sometime, it may then stay on for 5 mins or 2 hrs but switches off again I have removed the outer case and dusted the unit but I don't think its a overheat/fan problem.
It seems since I used an external hard drive the problem began, has anybody experienced a similar problem could it be software problems.

I'm sure something is overheating. Could be an accumulation of dust, or a malfunctioning part. I would make an appointment with an apple genius bar at your local apple store.
