What is cd service

After upgrading the drivers for my soundcard I have experienced repeated aplication hangs playing a game called Operation Flashpoint.
The log file shows the same pattern every time:
An aplication named "Creative CD Service" starts. This program then starts some windows based aplication and the end result is an aplication hang in Operation Flashpoint that freezes the entire computer.
Neither Ctrl-Alt-Delete nor Alt-Tab works. Only solution so far is the reset button.
What is "Creative CD Service"? How do I remove it/disable it's
It?s not in the list of programs that can be removed under the controll panel and all searches on the HDD for "Creative CD Service" produce a zero result.
The problem started after I accepted a recommended automatic update from Creative two weeks ago. I have tried to install older versions of Creative drivers, without success. (I simply can't locate any older drivers.)
System specs:
Pentium 4, AMD processor, 2. GHz, 52 MB RAM
Soundblaster Audigy (latest drivers)
nVidia GeForce4, 28 MB graphics card (latest drivers)
Lot?s of free space on HDD (recently defraged and not damaged in any way)

Ok, I?ll try that this evening. I?m pragmatic, but I?m still curious about the original question: What is CD Service?
Even if I can find a working solution I?d like to know why this solution is/is not working.
Also, this aplication doesn?t seem to start up when Windows start. It goes into effect some 0-5 minutes after Windows and only when the computer loades/saves large files in Operation Flashpoint.
And there is no cd involved in this loading/saving process. Everything is based in directories on HDD.

I need to check what SQL Server services are running(engine, agent,IS,AS,RS,browser and Full text) and what is the present status and what service accounts are been used by them on several servers in a single shot.
Could any one help me in finding a good script for the same.

so Far I have the following:
    DECLARE @ServiceAcount NVARCHAR(128);
SET @Service = 'No Return Value'
    --MsDtsServer100 (SSIS)
    EXEC master.dbo.xp_regread

  • What is "Directory Service" and why does it "use up 194%" ?

What is "Directory Service" and why does it "use up 194%" on my istat CPU app monitor?
Ever since I installed Leopard I've noticed this happening more and more - especially when I install an external hard drive or unplug my ethernet line - this is plainly weird and never happened under Tiger - the temperature shoots up to 84° also - I always to a restart to get rid of it but it's kind of worrying....anybody have any ideas?

    Had this happen myself.
It does have something to do with Spotlight/searching. Should go away after a while, or so I have heard from other users, 'cause it hasn't stopped driving me and my fan mad yet.
Am going to have my MacBook index and follow-up on indexing and whatever else it feels is necessary to finally allow me to search in peace over the weekend while locking it away where I can't hear it.
    Hopefully that does the trick.
If it wasn't for things working better/faster and most things looking better I might actually consider taking Leopard off again ...

  • What does a service assembly consist of?

My boss is looking at the feasibilities of adopting servicemix. From reading the documentation I understand that servicemix can deploy a service on-the-fly when a "service assembly" is dropped into some designated directory. So what does this "service assembly" consist of? Is it a .jar? .zip? Does it come with .xml files? Please help ... my eyes are drying out from reading off the screen. Thanks !!!

    A service assembly consists of:
    - zero or more service units
    - a deployment descriptor, jbi.xml
all packaged up in a ZIP archive.
Each service unit is deployed to a particular JBI component, as described in the deployment descriptor.
The service assembly is used to hold in one deployable package all the service definitions needed by various components needed to compose an "application".
A service assembly is generally created using tools, which generate the jbi.xml deployment descriptor, as well as the assembly ZIP file itself. Service units are generally created by tools as well.
The service assembly is not unique to serviceMix; it is a standard feature of any JBI implementation. In general you can deploy a compliant service assembly to any JBI implementation that is appropriately configured.

  • What is web services in Java?

i have searched Google with the word of "web services".I could only find out some general information about web services but not specific.
Could you please explain me briefly?

    makpandian wrote:
It describes about web services in common .I want to know what web service is in java platform..
Thanking You.That is a slightly odd question.
There's nothing special about web services in Java against web services in any other language...there are, after all, several web service frameworks in Java, so it's not as if there's even a single answer to it.
Do you understand what a web service is and the associated standards around one? If you do then you should realise that your question doesn't make much sense...unless you're actually asking what ws packages there are around.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary BB/RIM services, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have access to whatever level of services you subscribe to from your carrier.

  • What are the services will cover in extended 2 year warranty for g6-2301ax?

    Hi all,
I would like buy new g6-2301ax laptop. I got to know about 2 year extended warranty.
    My doubts are
What are the services will cover in that extended 2 year warranty?
Will they liable for any internal device failure like HD, RAM, Display and Chipset?
    Thank you

    Hello MRSrinivas,
I see that you have questions about an extended warranty.
All the information I provide would be concerning an HP extended warranty.
If you purchase a warranty from a retail store or online from a site other than HP.COM then the information would not be relevant because the terms and conditions may differ for that warranty.
Here is a link with information on the extended warranty and the different kind of features you can get with an extended warranty.
A standard warranty covers hardware failures on the computer for the length of the warranty period. That includes hard drives, memory (RAM), processors, motherboards, etc.
It does not cover any accidental damage such as cracked screens or liquid damage.
You can purchase HP warranties with features like accidental damage protection which will cover a cracked screen and liquid spills.
This is basic information about the warranties you can refer to the document for in depth  breakdown of what the warranty includes and what features you can get with different warranty plans.

  • What does Network Service Inactive mean?

What does Network Service Inactive mean?

Back up all data before proceeding.
Open the Network pane in System Preferences. A list of available network services appears on the left. If Wi-Fi is in the list, select it, then from the popup menu labeled with a gear icon at the bottom of the list, select
              Make Service Active
    Click Apply.
If Wi-Fi is not in the service list, click the plus-sign button at the bottom of the list, and then select Wi-Fi from the  Interface menu in the sheet that drops down. Click Create, then Apply.
If there is a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your administrator password to unlock the settings.
If the above steps don't solve the problem, continue.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Restart the computer and recreate your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

what are web services in SAP for interface peoplesoft

    Hi,
For R/3 4.7 based on WAS 6.20, If you activate the /sap/bc/soap/rfc service in SICF, you activate the possibility to use all RFC enabled function modules as web services.
Suppose you want to test with function module STFC_CONNECTION
You will access the WSDL with this URL
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=STFC_CONNECTION&sap-client=<client>
You will call the web service with an HTTP POST to this URL
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/soap/rfc?services=STFC_CONNECTION&sap-client=<client>&sap-user=<user>&sap-password=<password>
    >HTTP 500 Internal server error occurs u2013 Page cannot be displayed
If you tested the call with a web browser and not a web service client, this is perfecly normal.
The browser sends an HTTP GET with no SOAP enveloppe...
On our R/3 4.7 production system we call up to 30 web services per second. It works great !

    Olivier
