What is changing in the nightly builds?

I've seen a lot of new commits go through svn with commit monitor. But when I download the nightly builds and do a file compare there are few files that are actually changing. I'm stuck on a couple of bugs that I think I've seen the fix be comitted, but it's not the nightly builds.
Are the beta changes being included in the nightly builds? (I thought I read a post somewhere that said the trunk would contain all of the beta changes.) Even if the changes are being committed to the trunk and not the beta branch they aren't showing up in the nightly builds.
I am just missing something?

I can't find Mac PPC in the nightly builds.

When I go to the nightly builds web page all I find are builds for Mac Intel machines. There are no builds for PPC. What’s up? Is Firefox going to quit supporting PPC architecture with the advent of version 4.0? I hope not! There are still a LOT of us PPC users out here!

PowerPC Macs are a thing of the past, Mozilla will probably never support that architecture again.

Why is the Nightly build so much faster and has better looking features than the final Firefox product ??

The Nightly build is so much faster than Firefox, and the download feature is much better than the download feature in Firefox.

The Nightly build (22.0a1) is updated daily and has the latest code fixes and thus may be unstable.<br />
This version is meant for experienced testers only to check out new code and to see if it if working properly before it will be added to a release version, so it may be faster to some extend.
You should always install such an alpha (Nightly or Aurora) or beta release alongside of a the current release in case of problems (a lot of times websites may be broken).

Just found out off the owner that the DVD drive doesn't work..
SO! The DVD drive doesn't work and it seems like the only way to install Win7. I have a feeling that this model doesn't do USB very well....
will an external DVD drive work for this? or some I find someone with a toshiba that has the same model dvd drive inside and swap them for an hour while I do it...
or should I try LAN... havn't one LAN install in a home environment before..

What happened to the nightly builds?

I've noticed that as of late there have been no nightly builds on the Flex 3 or 4 SDK. This is odd to me, simply because these used to get published on a relatively regular basis. However, there hasn't been a nightly build of the Flex 4 SDK since May 12, 2010, which was before the latest milestone release. Does this mean there's not much active development happening around the SDKs at the moment? Looking at the SVN, it seems there has been some work being done, and it would be nice to see nightly builds again.

What happened to the file numbers after switching to Photos. It would be nice to still have the file numbers show.
You mean, the filename with the number on the card?
Photos does not use the filenames as a title, when displaying the thumbnails. The filename will only show in the Info panel.
Copy the filenames to the title field in the Info panel and then enable "Metadata" in the View menu.

Bookmarks bar garbled in the nightly build (2/19) of Minefield x64

[http://i.imgur.com/IQ66p.jpg Here] is a screen shot of what it looks like. This is for 4.0b12 and has been great until the most recent update. Even in safe mode it's the same thing. Beta 11 (x86) works fine though.

See if tomorrows update fixes that glitch. I have seen similar glitches with the trunk nightly's that appear one day and are gone the next day, happens at least every month or so.

In version 3.6 I can not open a website link from original page, I keep getting a new window that is blank and asking me to put in a web address. What has changed with the new version?

When on a page if I click on a web link I get a new window that is blank and asks me enter a web address. This started happening with the new 3.6 version. It seems to have something to do with what I choose for the location in my privacy settings as the window changes with each setting but I still cannot get to the new site. Any ideas? I have no problem with this in IE and I have to keep opening IE when I encounter the problem on Firefox which is annoying.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

What has changed about the glass edge around FF4 in Win7?

I generally don't have my FF4 (RC1) window maximized so I see the glass trim around the FF window. However, I've noticed that Microsoft tweaks that glass trim by having a lighter shade on towards the top of the sides and a darker shade on the lower part of the sides. That doesn't appear to change on anything that has the glass trim....except as of right now on FF4, it does. The darker shade will move up or move down. I can't tell what triggers it but, the same behavior in other browers does NOT re-produce the problem.
I hope this is clear to understand, lol. Any input would be appreciated.

The aero trim moves when a status message or URL is shown on mouse over in the tooltip style box on the bottom left of the Firefox window. There is a bug report concerning this.

My mac book air no longer supports the audio speakers on my panasonic tv when playing movies? what has changed in the last week for this not to work any more?

I used to be able to plug my mac book air to my tv via mini dvi to hdmi cable to tv and watch movies.
The audio no longer projects through the tv? in system preferences, sound, driver for sound output is not supported for my panasonic tv.
Just a couple weeks ago this was not a problem. I just plugged in my computer to the tv and it worked. what has changed?

What has changed in the B1iC for 8.81?

Hi guys
Does anyone know what has changed, or is there some documentation floating around, with the B1iC Dashboards in 8.81.
I had managed to get everything up and running on my laptop running 8.8, I have since upgraded to 8.81 PL02 and the dashboards don't want to run, the services all appear to be running etc.
I've noticed for example, on the Cockpit tab of the General Settings you dont have the URL input box anymore, surely this has got to somewhere?
Can someone please point me in the right direction

However, I'm having trouble getting this resolved.
SAP Note 1549532 appears to provide more useful information - however it looks like you need a PhD in computer science to actually understand the SAP instructions and and find the data needed even for the temporary workaround.
Sadly I fear that if you are not a IT professional you will not be able to do this, I will have to wait until SAP release further documentation or the patch they talk about to make this work again so I can demo it.

So what's changed in the last 8 years?

Hello,
I used to be a Director developer, but due to a job change got away from Director in 2002. Now I'm thinking about getting back into it again.
What has changed with Director and Lingo in the last 8 years? If I dust off my memory banks, will I have a fairly easy time coming back up to speed, or is Director a completely different beast than it was in 2002?
Or should I just learn Flash and forget about Director altogether?

I've been using Director constantly for around 15 years. Prophesies of doom have been a recurrent feature in the last 5+ years, but its finally looking like they might be true. You would probably be better served by learning a different application, and Flash may be a good place to start - depending on your needs.

What has changed in the new XFi drivers vs the be

Before I go out to get myself a pair of new spectacles (or rather, go do LASIK), is there anything that is actually changed between the beta and the new release? I have been looking at the features and known limitations between the new and the beta, and really can't see any differences there.......

What's changed in the 1.2 prototype.

The 1.2 prototype has surprisingly little documentation. I started this thread to try to remedy that, in part. I'm going to start off by listing what's I've noticed changed in 1.2, gotchas to watch out for, etc, and I hope you all will follow up below w/ all the rest of the changed things which I haven't discovered yet.
1) THE COMMAND-LINE scripts/javac TOOL NEEDS THE '-gj' OPTION.
The previous release didn't. This is a big user-noticible change if you were using the older 1.0-ea prototype in makefiles and such. Note that the 'javac --help' information lists '-gj' as the default; it is wrong. '-nogj' is the default. I hope this doesn't reflect on the status of GJ in java 1.5?
2) THE COLLECTIONS API HAS CHANGED.
This is made more interesting by the fact that this release doesn't come with any javadoc and (as far as I know) javap still crashes when given GJ .class files. The only way to tell that the interface
has changed out from under you is the javac error message which you will sometimes get when you try to extend a Collection class
with a now-incorrectly-typed method. (Other times, javac will just crash.)
The changes I have seen have altered the signature of addAll, putAll, and similar methods from:
class Collection<V> {
   boolean addAll(Collection<V> c);
}to
class Collection<V> {
   <T extends V> boolean addAll(Collection<T> c);
}Note that this gives you much more flexibility and restores covariance in some ways; but it also breaks all your Collection subclasses which override methods with the now-obsolete signatures.
Are there any other similar method changes to watch out for? Post below; if the 'offical' javadoc for this 1.2 prototype release isn't forthcoming 'soon' I'll probably hand-edit the 1.0 prototype javadoc to be correct for the new release and post it on the web for everyone to use pro tem. (But it would be nice if the Sun folk did this themselves, so I wouldn't have to bother, hint, hint!)
3) NO MORE JAVADOC. Mentioned above; hope you've got a copy of the 1.0 javadoc lying around still.
4) BUGS FIXED. As pnkfelix noted in another post here, some type-system loopholes have been fixed in this release. Also, the bugs which prevented casts from Set to Collection and from Set to Set<T> appear to have been fixed. The bad-line-numbers-on-non-Unix-platforms bug is reputedly gone. Further, it seems that this release compiles non-GJ code better. I'll probably post more on these issues as I get a little more experience w/ this new release. Does anyone else have 'favorite' 1.0-prototype bugs which were fixed in this release?
5) ONLY WORKS ON JDK1.4. The last release didn't work on 1.3 either, as far as I can tell. But, regardless, this is the only documented change in this release (according to the CHANGES file in the distribution).

( http://futureboy.homeip.net/frinkdocs/ , 194 classes with a mix of generic and non-generic code, 25000 lines) recompiled with the new compiler with zero changes. Of course, in the course of building this project, I worked around some bugs in the old compiler.
* I think that inner classes still don't work as expected. I don't know if this is a bug, but it's a shortcoming. For example, the following code still doesn't compile:

This isn't a particularly wonderful sample, but often you do want inner classes to be able to access data from the enclosing class (say, the inner class is an enumerator that enumerates over the contents of the outer class.) But you can't. Dang.
If nothing else, a better error message should be produced. To me, "T" sure looks like "T".
* The "README" file indicates that the compiled code only works with a 1.3 or later runtime. I've tested with 1.2 and (thankfully) found no cases where it doesn't work (but there may be some.) That would be a showstopper, as many people who use Frink haven't even installed 1.3 yet, and I've worked hard to make it compatible with 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.
Does anyone know why the documents say that the compiled code only works with a 1.3 environment? Let's hope it's a mistake. I thought one of the goals of the generic compiler was to create bytecode that could run in any JVM. And compiling with the new compiler shouldn't introduce dependencies on classes that the programmer doesn't reference...
I do compile with the -target 1.1 flag for maximum backward compatibility.

* The new batch file for Windows contains UNIX-style linefeeds. I think that's sorta bad form.

What has changed over the last weeks? ichat now does not work anymore

I could use your help on the following issue I have:
I have been using iChat in a three-way ichat video session for some months now.
Setup: Intel iMac Tiger to initiate the conferencing. My mom and sister have both a macmini Tiger.
I had some issues when I started back then, but with the help of Ralph Jones' webpages I had it working perfectly.
Since two weeks I have the following issues:
When on a simple 2-way videochat with my mom I found that my video did NOT work anymore. I could see her, but my video froze so she could not see me. ( I couls see my video froze as well)
So to check I did use an apple test account, it worked just fine. Same from my mom's mac min (I use ARD to control her mac mini so I also can test remotely)
To test more, I then setup a threeway videochat (using two apple test accounts) and then my own video froze.
I did do all the apple software updates the last weeks and I also had skype installed(which does not show video now either) and one thing that could be an issue is iGlasses (which I have removed to no avail)
Any ideas where to look and what to do?

What has changed in the Playlist Creation on the Zen Vision:M compared to the older Ze

Hi, I have a Zen Micro for a year now. It works flowlessly and I have have a lot of good time with it. But yes , there ist now the Zen Vision:M (sadly :-)).
I have read that the way to create a playlist on the vision:M is somewhat different compared to the Zen Micro for example. Can somebody explain what has been changed. In the review was said that it is more advances , but it is not as friendly as it it on the older Zens.
And one more thing: is the radio reception on the vision:m really a lot better than on the Micro? ( is was said in the article I read, just can't figure out where it was...) I really anticipated to be able to listen to radio with the micro, but hier in Hamburg (Germany) I can get a relati'vely clear reception of just TWO senders (from time to time). This is the point where the Micro dissapoints (my opinion ofcourse).

Tja, ich habe echt gehofft , dass man auch die option haben w?rde, Lieder zu einem beliebigen Playlist hinzuf?gen zu k?nnen, und nicht nur zu dem, der gerade abgespielt wird. Der Radioempfang, sagst Du also ist besser. das ist f?r mich eigentlich noch wichtiger, da ich gerne ab und zu Radio h?ren will, was mit dem Micro nicht wirklich gelingt.
Ich m?chte dich noch gerne Fragen, ob du die Videofunktion brauchbar findest, ob Du ggf nach einer Konvertierung deine Filme auf dem Player gut abspielen kannst. Wie ist die Qualit'st der abgespilten Filme? Ja, da ich es noch nicht gesehen habe, kann ich es mir nur sehr schwer vorstellen, einen Film auf dem Player in der S-Bahn zu richtig zu geniesen. Findest Du pers?nlich, dass sich die Anschaffung vom Player gelohnt hat?Der Kostet letzt?ndlich ?ber 300 Euro, und ich bin halt nur ein Student, und an Geld komme ich sehr schwer ran (daf?r bin ich aber ein gro?er Fan von Music, Filme und Fotografie :-( )
