What is chapter id

hi sap gurus,
what is the relevance of chapter id in sap r/3
regards,
balaji

The excise tariff is divided into chapters 96 of them all. The chapters are divided into sections and the sections are subdivided further.
If you are familiar with the ITC-HS code, then it uses this. ITC HS by the way stands for International Trade Classification- Harmonised system. This is a system where each and every product is classified much like the doey decimal system in a library to out it simply.
This is an 8 digit classification something like 9999.99.99
The first four digits stands for the chapter, the second two to the section and the last two to the material classification,
So Every material is identified this way. Each section in a chapter or sometimes the chapter as a whole has a single rate of excise duty. This is the way excise tariff is made by the CBEC.
Now in SAP the chapter IDs are maintained and so is the material.
Especially in exports, ITC-HS is used universally so every country knows what material and what customs code they are dealing with. hence in SAP when you define the Chapter ID , the excise rate is maintained against the material and a chapter ID combination.
Hope this is clear. The same can used in outputs in relevant places.
Any questions?

  • What is chapter id in Excise? why we maintain the chapter id in SAP?

    Hello,
what is chapter id in Excise? why we maintain the chapter id in SAP?.
    Regards,
    Ramrathode.

Go to J1ID, place your mouse on the first box Chapter-Id and click on the blue lens from top left.  Now place your mouse on any chapter-Id and press F1.  The explanation given therein is self explanatory.
In short, based on this chapter id only, excise duties will be calculated in SAP.

  • What, no chapter markers?

Can't seem to figure out how to insert chapter markers into my iDVD 08 project.
Help led me to an asinine solution of assigning markers according to a predetermined "time." This is useless because it has nothing to do with the scenes I'm attempting to link to.
Help also suggested using an image editor like Final Cut to assign chapter markers. I don't have FC, and iMovie 08 doesn't seem to have this ability either.
I've spent two days making this little 9 min movie for my son's trumpet audition and am now unable to complete the project.
    Any help out there?
    Thanks,
    John

iLife made some changes in the way things are done. If you use iMovie '08, you should take your completed movie into Garageband '08 for audio editing and adding chapter marks. (I know, it may not make sense to you, but there really is some rational for the change.) As an alternate, if you installed iLife '08 over iLife '06, you will still have iMovie HD 6 in your Applications folder ( iMovie (previous version) ). If you didn't already have iMovie HD 6 installed, it can be downloaded from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html if you have iMovie '08.
iMovie HD 6 will let you add chapter marks in the 'old' way.

  • Chapter ID of materials.

What is Chapter id for materials? what is the need of this?

    Hi
The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) framed Acts and Tariff rates for different material. You will find each type of material group together in chapter (01)with Heading and subheading. with 4 digit no (0103-Live swine) and 8 digit no.(0103 10 00-pure bred breading animals) respectively.
Chapter 1-4 : Live Animals; Animal Products
Chapter 5-6 Live Animals; Animals & Vegetable Products
Chapter 7-16 Vegetable Products, Fat, Oils & Waxes
Foodstuffs, Beverages, Spirits, Vinegar & Tobacco
Chapter 17- 27 Foodstuffs, Beverages, Spirits, Vinegar & Tobacco
    Mineral Products
Chapter 28 Products of Chemical & Allied Industries..... till chapter 98.
Bcoz the dept is not aware of the product mfg.
This is only for easy reference /index to know the exact duty of the material.
The materials  also have ITC-HS code to recognise exact specs.in international markets.

  • Chapter Marker Sequence

    Hello, I'm back.
Hey is there any tick box for auto-chapter sequence?
See, when I click and add a new chapter before a previous marker, it still follows the last marker sequence.
For example: exsisting markers are 1,2,3; when I click between 1 & 2, it becomes 1,4,2,3. How can DVDSP auto-correct the sequencing? or should I just leave it? What are possible implications?
    Thank you!

DVD SP will not "auto-correct" the sequencing. What the chapter markers are actually named is irrelevant to the order that they are played, or how DVD SP links to them.

  • Preloading Chapter titles in a large online Quicktime file

I'm trying to use Chapters to provide a nice interface for users to access a long (18-minute) online Quicktime movie; I've suceeded except for the fact that the chapter titles don't preload, i.e. they only load once the relevant section of the movie is reached. So you can't see what, say, Chapter 9 is called, until the movie's almost all loaded, which, with a 70 meg file, takes awhile. The chapter headings are just blank in the interface, kinda dumb lookin'.
    Check it out:
    http://www.wholestorycoaching.com/worldview.htm
I've been playing around in Quicktime 7 with the positioning of the "Text" layer that contains the chapter names, with no success. Any other hints on how to get this to work? It was created with COmpressor from the latest Final Cut Studio.
    Thanks,
    philips

Sorry, no help; just commiseration. All my audiobooks are just listed as "Part 1 of 12", even though I've typed the chapter title into every field iTunes has to offer -- none seem to work. I'll watch this thread in case anyone can offer an answer though.

  • Need to turn off "modify assets"

Hi all! I'm new here, and need some help!! I made an awesome movie in iDVD 7.0.2. When I open the file to burn it, it says I need to modify assets. When I hit cancel, it will not burn. When I allow it to modify, all the chapters buttons lead to the same clip. When I close and re-open, the chapters work fine until I am prompted to modify. What do I do to make it stop???
    Thanks!

    Hello, penny251,
    Welcome to the discussions.
There is a bug in iDVD8/9 that happens when you put an iMovie with chapters into your iDVD project, and then go back to iMovie and make any edit---even as simple as correcting spelling on a title, or adding a short audio file. You will then get the usual 'assets have changed, do you want to update' message. If you select 'update' iDVD will look as if everything is ok, but as you discovered, all your 'scene selections' will default to the same scene(chapter). You can see this in Preview, as well as after burning a disk.
iDVD recognizes that you have changed your iMovie, but it does not incorporate the changes correctly and gets stuck with the chapter selections all going to the same one, often the one nearest the iMovie change, but not always.
iDVD 6 used to do this correctly, but the new iDVD version does not.
(BTW, iDVD 8 and iDVD 9 are exactly the same version).
The only 'fix' for this is to redo/recreate the iDVD project. Sorry Having had to do this several times.....I use 'Grab' to get screen shots of my iDVD project menus and the inspector windows so I don't have to try to remember which songs for how many seconds on are each submenu, and what the chapter titles were, etc. It does go faster the second (or third) time because you have already created the project once.
For the future, do NOT put iMovie into iDVD until you are entirely finished with your edits, but, if you just have to change something in iMovie after it is in an iDVD project, be prepared to redo the iDVD project.

  • Inserting variable data markers in tables on master pages

I have a two-cell table on a verso master page that is styled and set to hold my <ChapterNumber> and <ChapterTitle>. A one-cell table is set on the recto master page to hold my <A_Head>.<br /><br />The problem is that I can't seem to insert the variables into the table cells. They work fine when inserted into standard text frames, but I can't see the markers on the master pages, nor does the data associated with the appropriate paragraph styles show up on the regular pages, as it does when I simply insert the variables into standard text frames.<br /><br />I tested the default variables that are installed with InDesign CS3, and they can be inserted into the table cells on the master pages and display on the regular pages. The variables that I defined work properly in a text frame, but not in a table.<br /><br />Is there an explanation for this? The cells have styles associated with them, but there's plenty of room in the cells for the variables. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

This is so weird. In my original file, I did everything that you did, and even when I flipped back through the pages, the information wasn't appearing in the appropriate cells
(BTW, the chapter number actually goes next to the word "Chapter" in the green cell on the verso, and the A head actually goes in the white cell on the recto; chapter title will be in the white cell on the verso). The markers were showing up--thinly, as you pointed out--when I had originally inserted the markers, but the difference was that I did not see the results on the actual pages. Go figure. Everything looks fine now, and there were no problems with my variables.
I have avoided using the default Chapter Number variable because it doesn't reflect the chapter number based on what the chapter number is in the text provided by the client. For example, I changed the chapter number on the chapter opener just now to 12, and the variable you inserted for the chapter number did not update; it stayed at 10, because that variable is based on the Document Chapter Numbering feature, not on text. When I use a running header variable based on the CN paragraph style I define, my chapter number variables are correct, and if the text changes, the change is picked up without having to go to the Pages panel. It's just a different way of doing things.
    Thanks for checking the file!

  • Page Number problem

Using ID 5.0.4, WinXP SP2, I still can't get page numbering to work properly. I've added three chapter files to a book.indb file. The book tab shows:
    1-20 for Chapter 1
    1-18 for Chapter 2
    1-20 for Chapter 3
The page counts are correct, but the book tab thinks each chapter begins on page 1. But despite that, here's what each chapter file shows:
Chapter 1 file shows pages 1-20,
Chapter 2 file shows pages 21-38,
Chapter 3 file shows pages 19-38.
Since chapter 2 is indeed 18 pages, Chapter 3 seems to think it should begin on page 19, when it should in fact begin on page 39. I've tried every option I can think of to resolve this, but nothing has any effect.
Book Page Numbering Options are set to "Continue from previous document" and "Doc Numbering Options" are set for "Automatic Page Numbering." "Doc Chapter Numbering" is also set for "Continue from Previous Doc." The "Start Section" box at the top is checked, but the box is greyed out, so I can't uncheck it (in case that would help).
Is there a fix for this, or do I have to do it the brute-force way by turning off automatic page numbering and specifying a beginning page number for each chapter?
    Thanks, John

Ta-da!! After more than a dozen tries, I finally got Shift-Ctrl-Alt to give me the Delete preferences pop-up. I did so, then opened the book again. All three chapter files began on page 1, but the "Update page & Section Numbers" option fixed it!!
Another quirk (I think) is that my "Open a recent item" list shows the recently-opened chapter (.indd) files, but *never* shows the book.indb file. If I open the "Open" folder at the bottom of the list and double-click on the book.indb file, nothing apparently happens. That's because the book file opens *under* the InDesign list box. I need to move the box out of the way to find the book.indb file. No big deal, because I'll eventually kill this opening list window anyway. But sure is confusing.
Peter and ManiSankar, thanks very much for all the help on this.

  • Imovie/idvd chapters

When I create a IDVD project from Imovie I add chapters in the project. I do not put one at the begining of the projet as recommended by Apple. In IDVD a chapter named Beginings is created. But this chapter is the whole IMOVIE project. I expected it to be only a chapter up to the first chapter marker I put in IMOVIE.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Rolly

    Chapter markers are only entry
points to your movie. They are not self contained
"mini-movies" that will only show that chapter. What
ever chapter you pick, you will start at that point
but then continue to the end of the movie.
    Patrick
    Thanks Patrick,
That makes a lot of sense. I should have thought of that.

  • Zen 2gb and audio book chapters and bookma

    Hello,
Right now I have a Zen Stone which I use mainly to download audio books and which I have outgrown. It was a good, cheap starter mp3, but now I want something better. (The tech upgrade?bug strikes again, I guess.) The main peeeve I have with the Zen Stone is that I cannot bookmark where I stopped in a book's chapter. Books download in sections whcih contain more that one actual chapte, so, when I have to recharge the battery, the Stone restarts at the last section, not where I quit to recharge. Thus, I have to re-listen to old material. Also, since there is no screen, I can't see where and what section/chapter I am anyway.
Will a better model Zen allow me to save and bookmark where I am in a book so that i can restart anywhere without going back over old material? Will I be able to see sections nad chapter headings (section 4, chapter6, e.g.) on the screen.
Any help appreciated. I am fairly new to mp3-land, but not to computers. Thanks

I can tell you that the Zen 2gb is not as great with audio books as it ought to be.
Audible?format audio books have chapter markings that the Zen can see. Overdri've?Media files?do not.
Yes, you can bookmark. However, when you go to the bookmark, the player does not remember that the bookmarked file was part of a playlist. Therefore, it loads only the one file and stops playing when it gets to the end. At that point you have to go back through the main menu to reload your playlist.
The "resume" function would make the bookmark problem less annoying, if it worked properly. The player will remember where you stopped and begin there the next time you turn the player on, unless you wait more than 2 hours. In that case, it starts at the beginning of the track and you have to FF till you find your place (hopefully you remembered to note the timer position before shutting down). This is the method I've settled on, because although I have to FF to my place every morning and evening, at least I don't have to keep reloading playlist.
Interestingly, although you can't bookmark videos on the Zen, you don't need to, because it remembers where you left off playing it no matter how long you wait, and even after synching.

  • How index Works.

    Hi all,
Shall i know how the indexes work internally in Oracle database. Because when we are creating index in some fields, its slows down the speed of the query, and when creating some indexes speeds up the index.
So please help me How to determine the fields, in which i have to create index and in what basis.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Manu.

Index are reference to data in tables's columns on what they are based. Index work exactly in way like we have book's index describing its chapters and what page # chapter can be found.
They only contain reference to the data. There are two types on index.
B-tree index and bit map indexes.
Whenever new index created on column it stores column value and rowid of that row into the index. The index maintains all the values in the tree structure. i.e. if you create index on salary column (supose salary column contain the salary range 1000) in that case half of the branch on one side contain values upto 1 to 500 and on another side 501 to 1000. again 1 to 500 branch is subdivided into 1 to 250 and 251 to 500. like this oracle divides all the entered data. The actual value contained components are called leaves.
You can get more details at bellow given links.
    http://www.orafaq.com/node/1403
Creating new index can hamper the DML performance so there should be ballance between performance of DML and select statments. Consider creating the index if it will be used by many select queries.
Consider the table columns for index creation which will appear in most of the where clause of select statments.

  • Saving transcoded H264 Blu ray files?

I'm transcoding from a 1080 25i QT file to H264 for Blu ray and I'm keen to save the transcoded file for other purposes... Not only so I can re-use it in Encore (without having to re-encode) but also so I can create a .TS file (H264 mpeg4 & AC3) for use on a PS3 hard-drive.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    synergyfilms wrote:
Thanks for that! But I'm still confused as to what the Encore Readme document means when it says "Encore doesn't support chapter play lists in Blu ray"???
I think key to understanding what that means is to also understand what a chapter playlist is, and how it is different than a timeline.
A chapter playlist is a mechanism that allows the author (that's you) to create a customized list of one or more chapters from a single timeline to be played back by the user. So it can contain just one chapter from the parent timeline, or a few consecutive chapters from this timeline, or every other chapter from this timeline, etc. - fully customizable by the author.
A timeline contains at least one chapter, and in general plays from whichever chapter the user enters from to the end of the timeline, e.g., if there are 10 chapters and the user enters at chapter 3 from a menu, the timeline will play from the beginning of chapter 3 to the end of chapter 10.
If you now better understand the difference between the two mechanisms, then it becomes clearer: DVDs can use chapter playlists and BDs cannot.

  • Ldap alias problem

    Dear all,
How to setup ldap aliases in JES? I read this chapter
    http://docs.sun.com/source/819-0105/dirldap.html
but still couldn't figure it out. Can anyone explain to
    me what this chapter tells?
    Thanks to all.
    alex
    Alias expansion of local addresses
Once an address has been determined to be associated with the local channel it automatically undergoes alias expansion. The alias expansion process examines a number of sources of information, including:
The alias file (part of the compiled configuration).
    The alias database.
    Alias URLs.
The exact alias sources that are checked and the order in which they are checked depends on the setting of the ALIAS_MAGIC MTA option in the option.dat file. For direct LDAP, set the option to 8764. This means that the URL specified by the ALIAS_URL0 MTA option is checked first, then the URL specified by the ALIAS_URL1 MTA option, then the URL specific by the ALIAS_URL2 MTA option, and finally, the alias file. The alias database is not checked when this setting is active.

what I asked is whether it is possible to split ldap
users into two or more groups, each identified by
its domain name, and spread users into different
    machines.
For example, I have two machines running ldap
servers, one is machine A, the other is machine B.
All the users with suffix a.com will be stored in
ldap server running on machine A, and the users
with suffix b.com will be stored in ldap server
running on machine B. Is this possible?
Anyway your help is greatly appreciated.

  • For what reasons would you not be able to add chapter markers to a project?

New to this...I will try to give you the detail you need to answer without giving you a long story. I am actually asking this question because I have a video production company working on my wedding video..they are using iDVD to burn but I am not sure if they are using iMovie to compose or some other software. Anyways, this is actually the second time around with my video. They produced it 18 months ago and it looked beautiful! The only problem was that we realized 10 months later that there was an audio problem with the wedding ceremony. In the meantime, the person who originally worked on the project left with the software and the equipment. So, they had to start over and have been working on the redo since February and I think I am the iDVD "test rat". They are telling me now that it is not possible to add chapter markers to the project in iDVD. And this is part of the e-mail they sent me with a supposed explanation:
+I took your corrected DVD to the Apple Store and the training expert explained to me that this program only shows each chapter at a time and the program will automatically go back to the menu after each chapter+.
From what I have been reading on the discussion boards, the only reason that adding chapter markers would not be possible is that they are using iDVD '08 (since they purchased the software in February, I don't think this is possible) or that they did not use the original wedding tape to create the new DVD project..they used the already broken down video segments from the 1st DVD and just put them in menu folders??? Any help or explanation would be GREATLY appreciated! If there is any additional information you might need, I will do my best to provide it.
    THANKS!!!

    Hi cooperjb,
Welcome to apple discussions. iDvd is consumer authoring software. DVDSP on the other hand is part of FCS 2 / apple's top of the line / professional DVD authoring software. There are some significant (huge) differences between the two apps which I won't go into great details here since I could likely fill a text book on this very subject. Instead you can search this forum/s for a few prior posts as well as apple's knowledge base (KB) for further details on exactly why pros prefer to use Apple's FCS 2 as opposed to the i-Apps.
As much as one may want iDvd to act and perform exactly like Professional Software, It is not. It's intended for consumers (and prosumers).
On a less serious note, this one's always good for a laugh:
