What is "CleanLibrary" in a users profile folder?

Lately with new 10.8/10.9 OS Macs we've been seeing a folder called "CleanLibrary" rather than the hidden library file for users that have hosted Home folders on a 10.8 server.  What is this, why don't they have the standard Library folder and why isn't it hidden like the standard Library folder?  Can't find an answer here in the discussions or strangly on Google.

Hi Laarse,
Thanks for the reply.
Please try enable “Do not forcefully unload the users registry at user logoff”
policy to check if it works. The Category path is
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\user Profiles\
After that, if the issue still exist, please collect below information for further research.

1. Enable gpsvc debug logging by below steps:
In the Regedit Editor, expand HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Window NT\CurrentVersion
Create a new key called “Diagnostics”
Under the key, create a DWORD value “GPSvcDebugLevel” and set the value as
0x30002.
After making this change, restart the computer.
When the issue happens again, please send me the gpsvc.txt under %systemroot%\debug\UserMode folder.
Please let me know the time you experience this issue.
2. Please help run
gpresult /h c:\gpresult.html command on a problematic client, and send me the
gpresult.html file.
3. Please help collect profile trace on a problematic client by below steps:
Logon to a client with local administrator account.
Open a command prompt with ELEVATED.
Run "logman -start profile -p {eb7428f5-ab1f-4322-a4cc-1f1a9b2c5e98} 255 3 -ets" (without the quotes, if we face error, please do not use copy, manually input this
command)
Switch user (do not log off the administrator account) and try to logon with the problematic user to reproduce the symptom.
After you login, please logoff the domain user and back to local administrator account.
Run command
"logman -stop profile -ets" with administrator privilege.
Then send me the profile.etl under
%SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode folder
Thanks.

  • 2008 R2 Terminal Server large Local User Profile Folder; C:\ drive size fluctuation

    Hey Guys,
Have an interesting issue I'm currently working with and starting to scratch my head.  I inherited this server so many things I'm still discovering.
This is TS 2008 R2 SP1, with very basic setup; Microsoft, Firefox, IE, and Adobe. I currently have many users, but only these two user profiles that have large folders. (all the space is taking out by C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Microsoft). Each folder orbiting
around 23.6GB taking 89% of the C:\ drive. Once I discovered it, I applied folder redirection policy to move all the content of the user folder's to the large drive; P:\TSProfiles\ottc01
However, the actual C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Microsoft folder still there and looks like it cannot be moved. It's almost like every instance of windows OS and Microsoft Office duplicated and resides on each user's local profile. Plus, the C:\ drive
space fluctuates and goes up and down, every time user logs on and off.
So, I'm curious is to how to correct this issue and why only these two users have such a large profiles? I can provide more info if needed, just let me know.
    Thanks everyone for their time.

In addition, this issue seems to be more related to terminal service. I also suggest that you would post this question in

If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the MeetingPlace dafault user profile passwords?

Does anyone know what the default user profile and user ID passwords are for MeetingPlace Enterprise 5.3?
    Thanks,
    Jason

That is the default for the Audio server's CLI. I'm looking for the default that is given to a user profile when imported into the system via MeetingTime. I imported 7000 user accounts but did not define a password for the user ID or the profile number. I need to know what both of those defaults are for the user accounts.

  • Where is the user profile folder located on Mobile Firefox?

I'm developing a plugin for "Firefox for Android" and I need to create a folder with some files for my plugin. I'm trying to do this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Code_snippets/File_I_O
BUT I can't check ir the directory has already created. Where I can see the "ProfD" on Android? I readed another answers in the Net saying this is in:
    /data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/???????.default/
But when I open my Android File Manager, there is no data/data directory. There is only one data/ and no mozilla inside there.
    Help!

You won't be able to see the /data/data folder when the phone is attached to the computer as a disk drive. Android only exposes the /sdcard folder and its children folders when the phone is attached over usb.

    Hello,
I got the same situation, and my scenario may shed some light on what this situation, and help us determine what is happening.
I reset my computer to factory setting a few days ago, 4/09/2014. I have not installed many programs nor made many changes. On my user profile folder I found:
Given that I reset the computer a few days ago, I looked into the Program Files folder and identified program installations and/or recently changed programs that match the time and date for the creation/change of the files listed in the image above.
There are two sets of times and dates, 4/9 @ 5:50AM, and 4/12 @ 10:15AM.
For the first set, I found program "Microsoft Security Client" to have been installed and/or changed at this time. And for the second set, I found no program or files to have been created and/or modified at this exact time. The closest folder to have been
installed/created/modified near this date and time is "Microsoft Application Virtualization Client" showing modifications to the folders 4/12 @ 10:08AM
Luckily, the 4/12 was a Saturday and I didn't spend much time on the computer. In fact, I was not logged on 4/12 between 9:40 AM - 10:30AM. I thought the computer had been put to sleep.
Has any of you concluded what is causing the creation of these files on the user profile folder?
I appreciate any feedback on this matter. Thank you

  • User Profiles Redirection

    Hello!
I have around 30 Terminal Servers in my environment and want to shift the user profiles on all the servers to a single location at my SAN without any cached user profile folders at all Terminal Servers. In this way, if I have to delete user profile of a
specific user, I will not be doing it on every server. Help Required.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server forum.
For migrating User profile you can set folder redirection and specify the location of folder in a user profile.
You can use Group Policy to specify another location (in other words, "redirect" the location) for folders within user profiles. You can redirect folders either to one location for everyone or to different locations based on the security group membership
of users. You can also configure additional settings for the redirected folder. The settings that you can configure include whether to grant exclusive user rights to the folder, move the contents of the folder to the new location, apply redirection policy
to earlier Windows operating systems, or specify system behavior if the policy is removed.
The path of the user profile folder is User Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Folder Redirection\UserProfileFolderName
Please check below articles for more information.

  • 2 User Profile Sync Services?

My UPS keeps crashing and we have business processes that depend on it. I spoke to Microsoft and they say that running it once an hour is the source of the issue (even though that's clearly an option in central admin and a full sync only takes a few minutes).
They say that takes an enormous amount of resources and that I could run a second AD Import only UPS once an hour and leave the full sync to once a day.
But wouldn't 2 UPS services update 2 different profile databases completely? I set up the second service in our test environment and gave it different database names and I'm testing now to see what happens. The existing user profiles will never see that
    data, right?
    Anyone else done this?

Yes and forwarded them to MS. Here's an example from one of the failures:

  • Word documents are garbled when sent through Outlook Exchange. I know something in the profile folder gets corrupted. Anyone know what?

Our school district uses the web based version of Outlook Exchange. Several of us using Apple computers have had problems when sending word documents as attachments. When received, the document is full of garbled text. This has happened with different model computers, running 10.5.x or 10.6.x. I determined that removing the items from the folder in profiles (Users-> <user> ->Library->ApplicationSupport->Firefox->Profiles-><profile folder>) the problem is resolved. However, all preferences for Firefox are then lost. Does anyone know what specific item in the folder would cause this?

I think this is an excellent indicator that not only is Palm reviewing the feedback from the support forums here, but actively reviewing feedback/comments/wishes on other sites as well.
As the original poster copied this (quite solid, IMO) wishlist from Pre Central, the palm support staff acknowledged first seeing it there.

  • Recreate User Profile that uses Folder Redirection

    Hi all,
I would to recreate a user profile that is utilizing Folder Redirection. What I would like to do is have the user log back into their computer and have their profile to be recreated. I don't want any of the existing data to be copied over, I just want to
them to log in and have the system recreate the folder redirection, as if they were a new user logging in for the first time.  We redirect the AppData, My documents, and desktop only. It's a windows 7 system as well.  What's the best way I can accomplish
    this?
    Thanks

    > and have their profile to be recreated. I don't want any of the existing
    > data to be copied over
If they didn't have a local profile before, there is no "existing data".
And to be honest, I don't fully understand your question and your goal :)

  • Web - What is easiest way to implement User Security and User Profiles

Hi, I am new to these forums and kind of new to Java. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!
Bit of background to my experience with java
I have been playing about with java for a number of years and have created a few basic programs such as a screen shot tool that allows you to capture to default locations and look at previews first etc. I am now venturing into web related stuff. I work in IT doing systems testing and have done bits of basic development on various things.
    What I've done so far
I am using Netbeans IDE 6.7 and MySQL 5.0
I am trying to learn more complex java and have decided to try build a basic web / database system that basically implements adding / amending / deleting data from a MySQL database through web pages. I am now trying to implement basic user access and profiles. I have so far got the following:
    - MySQL table with user info - username / password
    - JSP page with usual login stuff
    - Servlet that validates the username and password - if correct forwards to main menu page.
Its as simple as that - there is nothing stopping you just typing in the URL of the main menu page and going from there.
    What I want
I am wanting to eventually get the following:
    - User authentication so that you have to logon before you can access anything else
    - User profiles that determine what each user can or can't do, restricting the pages / services / options available (i.e. normal user can't delete etc)
    - Would it need some sort of session manager to allow multiple users etc?
I appreciate this is a fairly open question but what is the easiest way to start implementing this? Not after specific code as I would prefer to try figger things out myself, but a point in the right direction would be great. It doesn't have to be extremely secure as this is just for me at the minute.
I have spent all day looking at things like session data / url rewriting / security settings in web.xml / bespoke servlets and am now in java overload!

    Hi everyone,
I've now actually gone back to the tutorial that I linked to above and implemented that using form login and j_security_check.
Agree with Saish, and although I don't know enough about the other options to give a good reason, using realms and j_security_check just seems to be a bit cluncky and messy. I would also prefer something a bit more generic, that doesn't rely on setting users in glassfish, hence why I started with my own user table.
Anyway, I will leave it as is for now and maybe come back and try one of the other options.
The only problem I can see now is that to add users i will need to go through all the steps of adding users in glassfish and web.xml... Is there a way to do this through a servlet or something so I can have a jsp page to add users that also creats all the other bits for it to work?
    Thanks everyone for your help

  • Need help with roaming user profiles, home folder on server - symptoms after Windows reinstall on workstation

Hello. I have deployed roaming user profiles in our home office. We are using Windows Server 2012 on our datacenter computer, which has a partition with all our home directories. All was working beautifully for quite some time.
I re-installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my laptop. I am able to log in to my profile from the new installation.
The problem that has started happening seems to be some sort of permission problem with my home directory, but I am not sure how to go about diagnosing it. I haven't changed anything in the policies or remote profiles.
    The symptoms:
When I try to run an installation program from my documents/downloads/desktop (remote) folders, UAC asks for the administrative credentials as expected, and then I am asked to enter my user credentials. If I do so, I sometimes get a message about duplicate
connections to a share, and the installation program does not execute. "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or
shared resource and try again." I am confused, because I am entering credentials for the same user name as the one I am logged in with.
To work around, I have to copy the executable to a folder on my workstation hard drive and run it from there.
Another symptom is when I download anything from the internet, chrome will reflect a "Failed - Download error" message with the download. If I re-attempt the same download several times, eventually it will succeed. This appears to be due to my
downloads folder being on the remote computer.
I am looking for any guidance on how to remedy these symptoms. I suspect there must be a setting I have forgotten to change in the local computer, because nothing has changed on the server since it was operating properly.
    Thank you for your time.

  • What is the best way to automatically delete user profiles after x days of inactivity (school lab environment)?

I work at a school where we have multiple Mac Carts that have 30 MacBooks per cart. We image the macs every summer to delete the older user profiles but we are looking for way to possible have this done automatically through out the year to help with HDD space. What is the best way to delete user profiles after...say 180 days.... of inactivity automatically? I am open to login hooks, bash scripts, etc. Anything to get the job done. Thanks for any help or advice.

A search here turned up this post Deleting inactive users
It appears that the script posted will do as advertised though I would test it out on your systems and under your conditions to see if it does do what you need.

Message was edited by: Frank Caggiano - That script looks for users over 21 days. To look for ones over 180 days change the 21 to 180 in the find command.

  • Any idea what could have happened to profiles that seem to have disappeared from profile folder?

I wanted to experiment with profiles so I created a new profile called "temp". This seemed to work but when I tried to go back and reselect any of the older profiles I received an error message saying that this couldn't be done while any instance of Firefox was running (none were).
Also, when I opened the Profiles folder I only found the "temp" profile I had just created but none of the other, older profiles even though they were listed in Profile Manager.
I've lost my bookmarks and who knows what else. I did a search of my C drive to see if perhaps the missing profiles might have been located in a folder other than the profiles folder. I even did a search for .sqlite files. I did find some very old versions of my profiles that I had copied over from a previous computer but these did not have my up-to-date bookmarks. Any ideas? Seems crazy, I know. Thanks.

Thank you, cor-el, for this information. It certainly explains why I was getting the message that Firefox was already running.
I can see in my profiles.ini file (see attached image) the (4) profiles that also show up in the profile manager. The the question remains, what happened to the profile file, which I now believe was the "Richard III" profile, that was in use prior to my creating my "temp" profile (that I recently renamed "Feb 2011")? No attempt was made to delete the "Richard III" profile either with the profile manager or otherwise. Simply creating the "temp" profile seems to have blown the "Richard III" profile out of existence, leaving not a trace.
As you can see, the "Richard III" profile's path leads, as usual, to the Profile folder. But only the "temp" profile is found there.
One of the specified paths, the one for the "Richard" profile, leads to a folder that's not directly related to Mozilla. The "Richard" profile (which I used as bases for the "Feb 2011" profile) is a profile that's over a year old. I assume it became the bases, way back when, for the "Richard III" profile, the profile that's apparently vaporized.
I hope this makes sense even if the loss of the "Richard III" profile does not.
