What is "Constant Frames" in the Render Files?

Can we delete Constant Frames as we did the Render Files and Render Audio Files with out affecting the FCP projects??

I believe it holds info about freeze frames, video generators and the like .. nothing that can't be recreated automatically if needed. If you want to delete them go ahead ... but they are tiny files and it hardly seems worth it.

  • How do I get FInal Cut Pro to save the render files?

    Final cut used to work really great, but lately it has stopped saving any render files, so ever time I try to edit something new it starts re-rendering all of my other files and slows it down to the point of crashing a lot. Is ther any way to fix this or get it to NOT render things that I am currently not editing?

    Can you see the render files in your project folders? FCP X does not stop rendering by its own choice, check your preferences, as Tom suggested, and restart FCPX to see your settings taking effect.

    Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

  • Ok to Delete the Contents of the Render Files Folder?

    Hello Hello
    I remember from using various PC Video Editing programs that each program established for itself a 'Render Folder', or sometimes called an 'Auxiliary Folder'.
    This folder contained the contents of the previously rendered files as they related to a particular DVD burned project. Once rendered, the files were there to sort of help reduce the process time, (render time), required to burn another DVD disc.
    In FCE HD, there is also a folder called 'Render Files', and also another folder called 'Audio Render Files'. Naturally the contents of these folders could easily amount to 2 gigs or more depending upon the project size.
    Well - (aside from increasing Re-Rendering Time in regard to a new DVD burn), is it safe to delete the contents of the 'Render Folder' in an effort to free up hard drive space?
    Thanx
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    You may have a couple of things mixed up.
    In FCE the Render Files and Audio Render Files folders hold the render files produced by FCE. FCE uses those render files when you play the timeline, print to video or export a movie. You can delete them at any time because you can always re-render in FCE. However, you do need to be careful at the point when you export a movie from FCE (for example, to use in iDVD)
    If you export to a QT Self-Contained movie, all the media for the movie you export (including rendered video & audio) is incorporated into the resulting QT movie file. Assuming a successful export, you no longer need the FCE render files.
    However, if you export to a QT Reference movie, you need to keep the FCE render files available when you import your project into iDVD and build your DVD structure. When iDVD encodes & multiplexes to burn your DVD, it will use the QT Reference movie, which in turn uses the FCE render files (and your original media).
    In iDVD, after you burn your DVD, you have the option of keeping the 'rendered assets'; these are iDVD render files and are inside your iDVD project file; they are not the FCE render files.
    If you really want to save time burning subsequent DVDs, in iDVD you should Save As Disk Image (instead of Burn DVD), which gives you a completely finished, fully encoded & formatted DVD disk image. You can then use the Finder, Disk Utility or Toast to burn additional DVDs for only the burn time, you won't have to go through iDVD's menus & re-rendering just to burn an additional DVD.

  • What is advisable? [Jar the property file or not?]

    About standalone applications, what is advised? shall the properties file and other configuration files be a part of the jar file or not?
    One benefit keeping them out is to have a privilege of 'not-building' the entire code just to change the configuration in one of the files.
    Another thought which comes to mind is to keep everything clean by bundling everything under one jar file.
    What is advisable?

    Ask yourself this: what reason is there for the configuration file to change AFTER application deployment?
    Likely in most cases the answer is going to be "none, I ain't gonna need this". Sometimes a problem isn't a problem if you just don't treat it like a problem you know :)
    In any case there are multiple strategies to match different requirements. A few I can think of;
    - keep the config in the jar (config is completely static)
    - keep initial configuration in the jar, but copy it to the user's home folder if it doesn't exist there yet where it may be safely changed for a specific deployment of the application
    - allow configuration to be altered from within the application itself (again: the user home folder is a likely target for the created file)
    - store configuration in a database
    and there are probably more. LDAP/Active Directory comes to mind for example.

  • What does Java do with the input file?

    Hello everyone --
    I have a freaky Java problem. I'm running a program that takes an input file, reads it one line at a time, and determines whether the info I'm looking for is contained in it or not. For each line it reads, it decides if that line is good or bad, and broadcasts the findings in a System.out.println(). Every line gets one. When I run the program, I redirect the output to a log file. What's going on when the input file is 13000+ lines long and the log file is only 2500 lines long? This is tweakin' me out.
    Thanks for the advice,
    -Kwj.

    Here's what I have:
    boolean isGood = true;
    int count = 1;
    while((line = in.readLine()) != null)
    if (/*some condition is met*/)
    {*do some stuff*/}
    else
    isGood = false;
    System.out.println("***" + line);
    if (isGood)
    /*do some more stuff*/
    System.out.println(count + ". " + line)
    count++;
    }//process all lines
    As far as I can tell, I have every line accounted for in the else statement or the last if statement. If the line doesn't meet the req., it doesn't get to go on to the last if processing. All the good ones get processed. I think.

  • What is the meaing of the sysmbolic constant value in the header file for UIR file and how they are used

    In labwindows after creating the uir then header file is create automatically. There it has define some symbolic constant. As examples of colview.h(from the examples of labwindows )
    #define  MAINPNL              1       /* callback function: MainPanelCB */
    #define  MAINPNL_RESULTS      2     /* control type: table, callback function: ResultTableCB */
    #define  MAINPNL_NEWTEST     3       /* control type: command, callback function: NewTestCB */
    My question is how these values 1, 2 and 3  were selected and how they are used in programs ?
    If anyone explains, it will be a great help.

    When creating a UIR file, CVI editor takes care of assigning constants to the panels / controls you create in it.
    The conceptual framework is the following (assuming to treat the file you have reported in your message):
    - Within a single UIR file all panels have a unique ID, which is the one you pass to LoadPanel when loading a panel into memory. LoadPanel (0, "myfile.uir", MAINPNL); is then translated to panelHandle = LoadPanel (0, "myfile.uir", 1); , that is: "load the first panel in the uir file". The panel in memory is then assigned a handle, which is guaranted unique by the OS and saved in panelHandle variable
    - Addressing a control in a panel is done e.g. using SetCtrlVal (panelHandle, MAINPNL_NEWTEST, xxx);  , which again is translated to SetCtrlVal (panelHandle, 1, 3);  that is: "Set control #3 in the panel identified by panelHandle to value xxx".
    You must not modify the include file associated to the UIR as it is fully maintained by the IDE and is rewritten each time you save the UIR file.
    That conceptual framework has some advantages and some caveats:
    - You can load the same panel more then once in your program: each instance is independent from the others as each panel handle is unique; in some occasions it may be helpful, e.g. if you need to handle several identical equipments connected to your PC and you can load the same control panel for each unit connected maintaining each of them independent
    - If the panel handle is wrong, the system does not warn you of this as it does not know of the symbolic names you are using; if you try that SetCtrlVal command with a wrong handle you are trying to manipulate a control on a panel different from the one you intend: supposing actual panel idientified by the handle has control #3 the maximum you can expect is that you receive an error in case you pass e.g. a string to a numeric, but if controls are of the same type you have no errors or warning at all! This is particularly important when addressing controls on pages of a tab control: each page is really a separate panel with its proper handle that you must retrieve with GetPanelhandleFromTabPage command before addressing the controls on it
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • What data is contained in the export file for a transportable tablespace?

    "This operation will generate an export file, jan_sales.dmp. The export file will be small, because it contains only metadata. In this case, the export file will contain information describing the table temp_jan_sales, such as the column names, column datatype, and all other information that the target Oracle database will need in order to access the objects in ts_temp_sales."
    What is the other information?

    I don't have the sales dump. I was only quoting from the documentation. What i have is an export of 18 tablespaces - 9 partitioned data tablespaces and 9 partitioned index tablespaces.
    What I was trying to determine was if I could still import the tablespaces if the tablespace files were from a time that was after (one week) the original export of the metadata or if there was some bit of information that was held in the metadata which would prevent this.

  • What metadata is saved within the Quicktime file from the Browser window?

    I'm wondering if anybody could provide a list which contains the metadata that's saved in relation to the available columns in the browser window in Final Cut.
    For example, I know if I change a clip's Reel name, that information is saved into the actual Quicktime file so if I bring that file into a new project, FCP's Reel column will automatically display the new Reel name.
    On the flipside, information such as "Angle" doesn't seem to be saved. Curious as to what's saved and what isn't.

    If you rename the clip in the Browser, that does not affect the captured file. But, if you change the reel name, it is. However, any log notes or things you add in the columns after you capture won't be included in the clip if you import that from the raw file. HOWEVER, it will be attached if you drag the clip from one project to the new one.

  • Empty page between frames in the output file

    Hi,
    I have two individual frames in the report one below the other each in different page. Everything is good but in the output pdf file I am getting an empty page between these frames. There is an empty page after the end of first frame data and before the begning of the second page data.
    Any suggestion would be a great help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I'm sure I'm pointing to the obvious answer, but have you checked that there is no page break before of after both blocks. Probably you have one more than you need.
    If you have defined one block in one logical page you do not need page breaks.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Fullscreen image as background: What image size should be the original file?

    Hello adobe users,
    I'm creating for my first time a website which uses a photograph as the main background. This will be fullscreen. Her eyou have some examples:
    http://www.flemingsteele.com/
    http://www.benthomsonphoto.com/
    Always better one image than 1000 of words.
    My question is quite basic: What is the perfect image size the photograph should be for a fullscreen-image-background?
    Is there any tips the photographer should take in place?
    Any special mode?
    Which format should it be? Panoramic? Rectangular?
    What quality and weight should it have?
    I'm very concerned that the raw material (the original pictures) compromise the final product. I want to create the website so it can adapt any screen resolutions. Can anybody help around?!

    Hello,
    Why the files are not allowed to grow beyond the 8GBThe MAXSIZE of the Datafile can be set to the value you want up to UNLIMITED ( which is limited physically according to the OS Platform, the db_block_size and the type of Tablespace - smallfile or bigfile ).
    If you have a SMALLFILE TABLESPACE then the Datafile can have up to *4MBlocks*, so if the db_block_size is *2KB* you are limited to *8GB* even if you set MAXSIZE to UNLIMITED.
    A SMALLFILE TABLESPACE can have up to 1022 Datafiles. So with a db_block_size of *2KB* the Tablespace can reach about *8TB* (with 1022 Datafiles of 8GB).
    If you have a BIGSIZE TABLESPACE the Datafile can have up to *4GBlocks*, so if the db_block_size is *2KB* you are limited to *8TB*. But the Tablespace could have in this case only one Datafile and, you have to be sure that the OS Plateform can support such a large file.
    Of course, if the db_block_size is larger, for instance *8KB* (which is an usual value), the limit for a Datafile belonging to a SMALLFILE TABLESPACE becomes *32GB*... And so on.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

  • What is so special in the raw files of camera manufacturers?

    Why camera manufacturing companies are keeping their raw files so secretly?
    Can the main reason be camera - XYZ conversion matrixes?
    Maybe, I don't know ...
    What else can be?
    What can be so important for them ... so camera companies do not want to share their raw files with public?
    Thanks a lot.

    I think that is a question that a lot of people would like to have an answer for. They have their own engineers design the raw format, and I believe they are convinced that their format is better than any other company. Really, though, I don't think there's an answer to your question. Adobe developed the DNG format as a common alternative. But only Pentax and maybe one that the company has been willing to adopt it as an alternative format. The solution, just deal with it.
