What is critical number for an Asset

Hi,
Iam new to Asset accounting. During settlement to an asset the system says Critical number reached for Asset XXX.
Why does asset have critical number and what should we do to correct this error..

I assume that you use the SAP Standard.
There are 2 possibilities problem.
First because the document number for asset transaction is almost reach the critical number.
If this the problem,try to check as follow :
1. Check in t-code : OBA7.
2. Double click on Type="AA".
3. Check the "Number Range".
    (Let Say the "Number Range"=21)
4. Go to t-code :FBN1.
5. Edit the "interval", then check column "no"=21, "year" = your current fiscal year. If the "current number" almost reach the "To number" then try to increase "To Number". Normally I used 10 digits for the number.
Second,
The asset number ranges for asset master is almost reach the critical number,
Try to check as follow :
1. Check in t-code : OAOA.
2. Double click on your asset class.
3. Check the "number range"
4. Go to t-code : AS08
5. Check the interval number and increase "to number" if it is necessary.
