What is .cs resource in HA resource column from crsstat?

Hi,
I wonder whats that .cs type resource on my 10.2.0.3 RAC
ora.whpcd.SERV1.cs ONLINE ONLINE on node2
ora.whpcd.SERV1.dwhp1.srv ONLINE ONLINE on node1I think .srv is actuall service and its on node1 , but why .cs resource for that service is on node2 ?
Please clarify ?

It's a database service. you can start and stop as:
$ srvctl start service -d whpcd -s SERV1
$ srvctl stop service -d whpcd -s SERV1
You can define no# of services to the database and assign nodes...etc

Q: What is parent resouce ID?
ANS: In your data, you may have some tasks that are associated with another task i.e. child tasks of a parent task. That association would need to be held in a column of your database table, for example PARENT_ID. The value held in the PARENT_ID column would be the ID of the parent task that the current task is associated with. For example, on this page - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:86 - you can see that the 2nd task, "Update Application Wizard", is a child of the parent node "Charts Integration", and that association is based upon the value stored in the PARENT_ID column of my sample table.
Q: Is it also mandatory? Can I create a gantt chart without it?
ANS: No, it is not mandatory. However, the syntax of the query must include PARENT_ID, which you can of course set to NULL, as you can see in the following example:
SELECT NULL LINK,
       RESOURCE_ID ID,
       TASK_NAME NAME,

       END_DATE ACTUAL_END

What are DE resources?

ERR DE-421452038: Error initializing DE. Checking DE resources is recommended.
ERR REP-0002: Unable to retrieve a string from the Report Builder message file.
I am seeing the following error when running a batch of reports. Basically this report is being run as a batch job and simply being called over and over again. This error seems to pop up at random times, this latest time, right in the middle of a run (about half of the reports ran, then the other half all had this error). Without making any changes, I successfully ran all of the ones that failed just by calling them again. Does anyone have any insight on this mysterious ERR DE-421452038 message and what a DE resource might be? I've found the text "Error initializing DE. Checking DE resources is recommended" under a different error message: REP-3400 ( see link http://gwynne.cs.ualberta.ca/~oracle/dev6idoc/olddocs/r25/a32490/ch11.html ), but the only information it gives is "This is an abnormal condition". Well duh, no kidding huh? Love that Oracle documentation.

Not sure if this will help you, but DE stands for Development Environment, the common PL/SQL layer for Forms, Reports, Graphics and Procedure Builders.
A problem with DE resources might happen when we use very large program units (>32K).
However, if the failed reports are successfull at the second attempt, you are probably hitting an hardware/operating system resource problem.

What kind of resource demand does the standalone listener create?

Hi all -
I'm wondering what kind of resource load is consumed by the separating the listener off of the database. I guess I was under the impression the listener doesn't really do much at all other than handle the connections and calls to the database. Is it correct in assuming the majority of the resource consumption is still actually on the database or does the listener have a more impacting role?
The question goes into determining what kind of processing power would be needed for a server that is only hosting the listener. Seeing as there really isn't anything that changes within the environment I'm wondering if it's really necessary to have multiple VM's setup for the sole purpose of hosting the listener. On that same note, is separating the listener onto a separate machine really removing any processing demand from the database?

Hi,
it seems you mixed up the database listener with APEX Listener. The APEX Listener is not an alternative for the database listener (you'll still need it when using the APEX Listener), but can be an alternative web server for the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway (EPG, using the database's internal XDB HTTP Server) or Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) to host your APEX instance.
So as ALEX points out, it'll need about as much resources as one of the other web servers would. How much it will be depends on your usage scenario. Again, there is no immediate relation to the database listener.

Party Resource selected from the Assignment Manager is not available on Service Request.

Im working on Oracle Customer Support and observed the following.
I imported a party (dealer) from AR and created it as a resource.
Then created a Service Request, assigned Tasks to the service request and then tried to assign the task to the imported resource using Assignment Manager.
In the assignment manager searched for the resources using Unassisted search. In the resource type selected 'Party Resource'. Found the party resources by clicking on the search button.
Double clicked on the party resource and specified the Start Time and End Time.
After clicking on the Ok button, the selected party resource is not available in the Service Request Form.
Can somebody please help me in this matter. I want the party resource on the service request form.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have access to the production instance..but I will definitely recommend the solution. I did these steps in test instances earlier whenever I had this error. But they used to go away after bouncing app server.
Now, some of the functions are available to the responsibility without any modifications..seems like it takes a while for the newly added functions to a menu to propagate in the E-Business system.
What confounds me is that even after a mid-tier bounce, the system didn't pickup the menu changes.

Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool?

we are trying to migrate an OIM development environment to a preproduction environment and we need to migrate more than 400 IT Resources. We have exported some IT Resources and when we imported them in the preproduction environment their data was not migrated. Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool? Or is there any other way to do this without doing it by hand?

You only need to use the serial number during installation.
Have you, at least seemingly, been able to install, and then you are unable to start up?
If that is the case, you could try to reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

insert into blahh values (my_seq.nextval, ...) and use returniong clause to get the value back if necessary
You can use them in insert with subselects
insert into blah
select my_seq.nextval, ...
from ....

We are working on validating objects now that we are going to migrate to EBS R12.
We are using above column from the old table GL_SETS_OF_BOOKS into R12, but now this is not a table but a view.
So now what is the equivalent column for the old TRACK_ENTERED_FUNC_CURR_FLAG in R12.

In our ADF 11.1.2.1.0 application we are loading bundles form the database, which is not working as expected.
The problem is that when we want to refresh the bundle, it doesn't work for values on Model (BC) components. Bundles values stay the same.
Bundle refresh was implemented by this example

We then found that if we put f:loadBundle element on the page, the refresh does execute.
But only for the ViewController, Model bundles do not refresh.

On every page we also have a button. Click on it should refresh the bundle by calling the following code:

Can I use column value to navigate to other report without using "Value Interaction" in column properties.

By changing the data format to say HTML, or Hypertext link, you can add HTML content/HTML tags within the column formula.
You can create a column formula that would resolve into a dynamic hyperlink and pass parameters by using Go Url. Check out Chapter 11 in the Oracle® Business Intelligence Presentation Services Administration Guide

If you've already opened documents in 3.0 and need to take them back to 2.3 just use this:

Thanks fmdeveloper as a result of you confirming that it is an FF bug I delved deeper into it and I've now found a fix as follows:-
1) Unhide Excel columns, format cells to ;;;
2) From first re-formatted col to rightmost end of all cols select & hide
When saved as web page this then displays in FireFox as it does in IE
NB: After re-formatting previously hidden cols it is necessary to hide '''all''' the remaining cols or there will be a display of blank cols in FF where garbled 'hidden entries' were seen previously

What's the usage of the associated columns?

In business model, logical columns are associated to a level of dimension. But the columns are nether primary key nor used for display. What's the purpose of these associated columns?

To flesh out our example a little more.
You have a Day Dim, and a Month Dim table. Your month name logical column is mapped to both tables via different Logical table sources. Your content levels are set accordingly for those LTS's.
You have a fact table at grain Day and an aggregated fact table at grain Month. You have a measure (dollars, quantity, whatever) mapped to both physical tables through two LTS's with content levels set (like the Time Dimension).
So when you query Month Name and Dollars, the BI Server uses the aggregate table as it can serve up both the dimension attribute and the measure from the aggregate table. It knows its more efficient because the ratio of the number of elements you defined in the hierarchy tells it that there is approx 30 times less data in the month aggregate, by the ratio of 12 months to 365 days.
So far so good.
Lets introduce more dimensions, a.n.other dimension is joined to the base fact table but is NOT in the Month aggregate. You model it all as per normal, when you drop this extra dimension into your report, the BI Server recognises that there are no aggregate sources that can give the correct answer across all required fields in the report so drops to the next best fit at the grain requested in the report, in this simple case it would default back to the base fact table as that is the only fact table capable of serving up the month and any attributes from the other dimension. In more complex models you might have a few aggregate tables with both higher grain (higher levels) or less dimensionality (less rows). The existance of physical layer joins tell the BI Server what can be joined for the correct dimensionality, the setting of LTS levels tells it which aggregate tables would be more efficient.
Dont get confused with setting a level on a measure - thats something different (level based totals, % of Year etc. etc)
