What is ct_oal.dll f

I?m asking because the S. T.A.L.K.E.R. support is telling ppl to delete this dll (I renamed it) to make the game work.
The game is finally starting up without this DLL but without sourround sound on the x-fi extreme audio with XP-pro. The new drivers do not recognize the soundcard anymore (as posted already) so I?m stuck with the old drivers which came from the CD.
Would be useful to know if this dll is necessary for sourround sound (even though the renaming of this DLL doesnt cause any problems with WoW).
thx.

nevermind, I found a discription @ http://www.openal.org/windows_enumeration.html

  • What is ReportSourceBridge.dll?

Can anyone please tell me what the ReportSourceBridge.dll does/is for within Crystal 2008 SP1 merge modules?

    Hi Nancy,
It looks as though it's used to convert UNICODE characters back and forth between the various reporting dll's and the CR activeX viewer and possibly some export types also.It may also be due to the version of usp10.dll which we only support version 1.422.x.x
On your test PC go into Regional and Languages settings and check on in the Advanced tab and Default User settings check on Apply all settings.... and then in the Language tab check on Install files for complex scripts.
If that doesn't fix it try enable install logging on your test runtime only PC and install Crystal Reports Designer to see if that fixes the missing file dependency. If not then when we built CR 2008 we did not include Windows 2000 as a supported platform. So this may be an endless process and the final result may be it's simply not do-able.
That dll belongs to Microsoft so you may want to search their site for more info on what it does and what dependencies it may also have.
    Thanks again
    Don

Well since I've no idea what your application is used for I can only guess that this may be an issue with Crystal Reports which are supported by SAP that has forums for resolving issues with Crystal Reports as Microsoft has not supported Crystal Reports
    for some time now.
So it may be unlikely, if that is the case, that you will receive assistance here unless somebody had the same issue with Crystal Reports and knows the answer.
However I found this link about issue with Crystal Reports and Visual Studio 2008.

Also here's some google search results.
Google search results for "What is FlashControlV71.dll?"
And a link to SAP if you can find a forum for Visual Studio and Crystal Reports.

Also you can use a search engine to find out what the .Dll's you keep asking about are or for.
The only thing your questions really show is errors occuring. But really wanting to know what a .Dll is for is not really vb.net related.

  • What are npFirefoxPlugin.dll and FirefoxCtype.dll and why do I need them?

My Norton 360 every now and then shows that these two .dll files have been automatically downloaded. I can find nothing on the internet about them but they are being downloaded into the - '…\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hr3ejyyl.default\extensions\…' area.
Are they real mozilla files and do I need them?

"If you still have this folder in staged then you can inspect the install.rdf file to see what extension this is about." (quote)
I am sorry but I do not understand what 'in staged' means. I think you are referring to Norton's report, but I would not know where or how to find this.
I also did read some of the Google search results (and had conducted my own search prior to coming to this forum) but I cannot make sense of them because some say it is a toolbar but I do not have extra toolbars (to my knowledge). Other sites want me to download their software to search it out, which I will not do.
The fact that these files, and the conduitCommon folder all reside within the Mozilla folders tells me it is part of Firefox, but no one here has said it is definitely NOT a Firefox file.
I also previous to coming to this forum, did search in my installed programs with Revo Uninstaller and in Control Panel but I could see nothing unusual.
I think I will just uninstall Firefox, make sure all of that stuff is deleted and start over. What do you think?

  • MSP 9.4.1 Modifies What EXE or DLL?

Normally, modifications made to Acrobat by the application of a MSP such as AcrobatUpd941_all_incr.msp are easy to identify.  Finding a version change to an EXE or DLL is easy.  However, 9.4.1 doesn't seem to follow the easy method.  What does MSP 9.4.1 change?  I've read release notes and security bulletins and am not finding the answer.
The point of my question is so I can use what's different to create a SCCM collection to identify systems to target with the update.  It's too loose for me to just send it out to every system that has Acrobat.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If you're looking for what files have changed, that information has never existed in the release notes and probably never will. Updating is an all or nothing proposition.

  • Excel VBA add-in to create a PDF: What is acrodistdll.dll?

My Excel VBA add-in prints an Excel sheet with a list of drawing numbers, then prints all the drawings (it communicates with a CAD and a CAM application via COM). Then it repeats the cycle many times, with different list of drawings. At the end I have hundreds or thousands of paper sheets.
I want to create a PDF file instead of wasting that much paper, so I explored the Adobe objects available in my computer and I found out that adding a reference in the VBA project to Acrobat.dll and to acrodistdll.dll I could use the PdfDistiller to convert PostScript files to PDF and the Acrobat.CAcroApp, Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc and Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc objects to merge many PDF files into one large PDF file. Then I use the external tool pdftk to create the bookmarks.
Everything works well on my computer, but when I try to use the Excel add-in on another computer the references are missing.
I don't know what was installed on my computer. The IT department said that some of our computers have no Adobe products, some have only free Adobe products, and some have some products that we purchased. But they don't know what purchased or free products were installed on my computer.
    So my questions are:
Are the above mentioned DLLs the correct tool to achieve my goal?
If no, what is the best way?
If yes, how do I install them on the other computers? Are they part of some free product or are they part of a product that I need to purchase?
    Thanks,
    Stefano

  • Well, what is Msdia80.dll, and can I delete it?

What I did was found microsoft shared folder on my main drive(SSD), and copied this dll there, even though there was already an msdia90.dll in the proper folder. I then proceeded to delete it off my secondary storage drive. Was this safe?

I'd probably ask the application developer.

  • What is nidaqui.dll and where is it located?

I previously installed a PCI-6025e and PCI-6733 cards on my Win98 system. The cards appeared on MAX2.2 and appeared to be functioning normally.
Yesterday I opened MAX and both of these cards were missing. Only my PCI-GPIB card which has been mounted on the system for several months shows up. I then opened the device manager and was able to find the cards only by listing by connection type and looking on the PCI bus. Listing by type clearly omitted them.
I tried removing the cards from the device manager and reinstalling them but I keep getting the message that nidaqui.dll cannot be opened so the installer quits. This is also what happens if I try to "add hardware" from the control panel. Any ideas?

    Hello;
It's looking like the NI-DAQ installation got corrupted for some reason, and now both cards can't be recognized by the OS anymore.
The best way to go about that is to remove both boards from your machine, reboot the machine, uninstall the NI-DAQ driver completely from Add/Remove Porgrams, reboot the machine, reinstall the NI-DAQ driver, reboot the machine and put the boards back.
Since you had that working before, the reinstallation of the driver should fix the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • What does MSVCR80.dll mean and why won't iTunes play

I made a mistake of trying to play music while doing an update.  Now I can't open iTunes and I get the message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem"  It DOES NOT.  I have deleted all the apple programs and things off my computer then re-installed them.  It did not change the message I am getting.  I am also getting the message that "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-instal iTunes. Error 7 Windows error 126"  I have tried to restart it making it the administrator. It didn't help. What do I do now?
