What is delete Source system assignment???

Hello All,
If we go inside Infosource in Source system and then right click there. One option there is " Delete Source System assignment" .
If we chosse this option then what will happen? Can i reassign infosource  to new souce system after chosing this??
Thanks for reply

Hi,
Yes, this deltes the sync between source sytem(DATA SOURCE) to bi.(INFOSOURCE)
and you can get connected to another source system, but this may lead to problems. so make sure before delte the sourcesys asigment and going for new one.

  • Delete Source System Assignment for a DataMart Infosource in BW3.0B

    Hello Experts:
Can one of you assist me with how to delete source system assignment for a system generated  infosource(ie., Infosource existing under data Mart). i noticed that in case of an Info Cube, system provides an option to delete the source system assignment but not for an ODS.
I am trying to delete the system data source 8* that has been assigned to the data mart info source 8* and reassign the data source to my custom info source.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
    BTW, we are on BW3.0B
    Thanks,
    Ragavan

    Hi,
Go into the infosource with change mode. Open the transfer Rule/transfer structure and hit the delete button. It'll ask for delete datasource assignment. That would delete the source system assignment.
    Cheers,

  • Source system assignment while transporting to quality

    Hi Guys,
    I have the following landscape.
I have created 2 source system ECCDEV and CRMDEV for my BIDEV.
Now I wish to do transport to Quality box and i want to know what should be the source system assignment , I should maintain in rsa1->transport connection -> conversion of logical system name.
    When I maintain ECCDEV  -
    > ECCQUA
I get the error : ECCQUA entry does not exist in TBDLS.
Do I have to maintain source system ECCQUA(Quality) in BIDEV(Development) itself?
    -Amit

    Hi Rakesh,
Let me know if my understanding is correct.
In DEV BI, I create a connection to DEV ECC.
Also, I create source system ID's for source system.
In the QUA BI, I create a connection with QUA ECC.
and assign source system connection (source and target) i.e. DEVECC and QUAECC.
Then I transport requests(activated datasources) from DEVECC to QUAECC and replicate the datasource in QUABI.
    Please Confirm.

  • Source system assignement in production

    Hi all
Before importing any requests which are related to infosource , cubes and update rules into production, do we need to make any source system assignment in production system?
I have directly imported into production but there were no source system / data source assignments to these infosource.
can you please suggest what to do for these souce system assignments in production.
    thanks in advance
    AN

    Hi,
you have to assign the production source system to your BW system. After replication of the DataSources, you can import your development from the BW development system.
Important is the conversion in the SPRO Transaction - Change source system name after transport. In this view you have to type in the source system name of the source system linked to your development system and the name of the source system linked to your production system. During import to production system, BW will automatically change the source system names.

  • Cannot see Source system Assignment after Transporting to QA

    Hi All
I need your help once again, I transported a ODS object from DEV to QA, In dev it has a source system assignment but, in QA I don't see the source system assignment.
I went into sm59 and did a test connection and authorization, everything looks fine. I did a restore connection and replicated data sources, and transported again, but still I don't see the source system.
On R/3 side the application componenet nodes did not get transported with the data source.
Please let me know if I am missing anything that needs to be transported.
    Thanks
    Latha

    Hello Latha,
Please see the import log for that transport in se01 in the BW dev system. What is the exact error messages it gives?U may need to also look at the long text of the messages.
Another point abt what u have said..that in the corresponding R/3 QA system, the datasource is not showing up in rsa6,am I right?
then there was some problem with the transport from R/3 dev, that contained the datasource definition.check that transport too..
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

  • Importance of "Source System Assignment While transporting the objects

    Hi Friends,
What is the Importance of "Source System Assignment While transporting the objects. And when do we select this icon. what is the exatly significance for this.
    Thanks in advance for all......
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

    HI Rameshpennabadi ,
This option is only enable for object like  transfer rule, data source and IP if  you want them  to assign source systems, other wise the dialog box Choose Source system by Default? appears.
    Thanks,

  • Delete source system fails

I've got a flat file source system definition which I deleted via rsa1 --> source system --> right-click --> delete.  it deleted all the dependant objects (transfer rules, psa, EDI config, etc), but the system still shows up in RSA1.  There's an entry in table RSBASIDOC referencing this source system (field SLOGSYS), because we manually tried creating a basic idoc type for it (which we now can't delete with tcode WE20 since it's been generated).
Does anyone know off hand how to get rid of the source system in the RSA1 list?
    Thanks!
    Rich

    Hi Rich -
I guess the SAP Note (967999) applies in your case. I've pasted it below for your reference.
    Symptom
In the source system tree of the Administrator Workbench (AWB), you use the 'Delete' function in the context menu (right mouse button) for a connected source system.
Even though the system displays success message RSAR 262:
    Source system & deleted
at the end in the status line, the source system connection is visible again after the AWB has been updated and the source system connection has not been deleted.
    Other terms
Context menu, source system tree, right mouse button, delete source system, RSAR, 262, 620, SLG1, RSAR262, RSAR620, AdminWorkbench
    Reason and Prerequisites
This problem is caused by a program error.
An error occurs during the deletion, however the system does not inform you correctly of this at the end, after the deletion process has terminated.
    Solution
    BW 3.0B

    BW 3.50
Import Support Package 19 for 3.5 (BW3.50 Patch 19 or SAPKW35019) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once Note 928662 "SAPBWNews BW Support Package19 NetWeaver'04 Stack 19", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
    BW 7.0
Import Support Package 10 for 7.0 (BW7.0 Patch10 or SAPKW70010) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once Note 914304 "SAPBWNews BW 7.0 Support Package 10", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
To provide information in advance, the note(s) mentioned above may already be available before the Support Package(s) is/are released. In this case, the short text of the note still contains the words "Preliminary version".

  • Source System Assignment  while Installing Business Content

    Hi,
I have a new R/3 source system in BW (one R/3 system already exists). When I'm installing business content for say an Infosource and before, even with a succesful install , the new source system assignment is not taking place in the infosource and neither are the packages (for the new source system) being installed. The datasource (for the new source system) remains unassigned.
    Please Advice
    Thanks

    Hi Shurobhi
with your new R/3 source system are you able to see the datasources - using right clik on source system & then select datasources overview. IF not then you need to check if the source system connection is done with metadata repository replication or not. If that is also done then ensure that you have installed all business content datasources using RSA5 in your R/3 system.
On BW side, while installing transfer rules and infopackages, make sure that this new R/3 source system is checked on in source system Box - X icon on business content screen. Then only you would be able to see transfer rules and infopackages & install them.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Pradip

  • Transport of Source System assignment for a Virtual Cube

Built a transport with the datasources, transfer rules, cubes etc..
After transport to my Q system - in the Q system I am not seeing any source system assignment for my remote cube
    OBviously it exists in Dev
Everythign else is fine - datasource, infosource trasnfer rules but nothing underneath the infocube where the source system normally is
transport before and after in the transport conenctor picks up nothing to be transported
Logical system mapping table in Q is fine (naturally - because the datasouces got there) - replicate all done
    Any ideas?

    hi Simon,
    check sap help
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3b/63c620e18411d4b2d90050da4c74dc/frameset.htm
The source system assignments are local to the system and are not transported.
    hope this helps.

  • Business Content Source System Assignment???

    Hi Gurus,
i am installing Business content and after going thru few posts in this Forums i have been hearing about Source system assignment in the Business content screen.
but when ever i installed i never really used this option and we have only one R/3 source system
Can anybody explain me its functionality please
    thankyou
    harish

When you activate Business Content, DataSources from source systems are assigned to InfoSources in SAP BW. If you do not select a source system, all source systems are automatically assigned. If you have several source systems this may take a lot of time because transfer rules have to be activated for each DataSource from each source system.
However an assignment of a DataSource to an InfoSource may not be necessary for all existing Source systems.
Assign only the source systems you need to load data from for the Business Content Objects that you are going to activate.
You can subsequently change the selection you made.
The assignment of source systems is only relevant for transfer rules, DataSources and InfoPackages. If there is more than one source system, only those objects assigned to the specified source system are collected for the transfer. Objects that have not been assigned to the specified source systems are ignored.

  • Delete source systems...

    Hello,
When I delete a source system in RSA1 (not used, not existing in SM59) and then refresh the list, the deleted system pops up again. Why is this? How can I fix it? Must I delete the entry directly in source table? Which table contains the source systems?
    BR,
    F C

    Hello,
I have checked all tables and deleted the entries where they existed. However, the problem still persists...! There is no error message when deleting source systems  (in RSA1) and at first they disappear. But on refresh, they appear again... Strange...
