What is Dependent Requirement????

Hello all,
Can anybody tell me what is DEPENDENT REQUIREMENT in MRP??? I am running MRP for my material and the MD04 transaction is showing some dependent requirement. Altough the results in MD04 are correct, I didn't understand what is this dependent requirement since I am basically a MM guy, not PP. So if any one of you know what is this dependent requirement please let me know. Also tell me what is its purpose??\
Thanks and Regards,
Umakanth.

Dear umakanth Rao,
Let's assume A is our finished product or final product, and I plan to produce 100 quantity of A.
For producing 1 quantity of A let's assume I need  1 quantity of  B & 1 quantity of  C,where B & C are raw-
materials or bought outs.
So after entering the planned independent Requirements for my product A in T code MD61,after taking
MRP run in MD02 for the material A,the system generates the planned orders for A and Purchase
Requistions for materials B & C for 100 quantity as per the BOM,so here B & C are the dependent
requirements.

  • What are external requirements in re-order planning?

    Hi,
I read in SAP help that "sales orders, dependent requirements, reservations and so on..." are external requirements.
Is the  demand from a production order considered external requirement?
Also what are dependent requirements here? & what kind of reservations are considered a part of external requirements?
    Sincerely,
    Puja

    Hi,
In reorder point planning normally only stock is taken into consideration, meaning that replenishment is initiated when stock falls below the reorder point, and replenishment lot size is either a fixed quantity or up to a maximum stock level.
In some cases you may want to take into consideration also additional requirements; demand from production orders is a reservation, thus taken into account.

  • NPROC:Dependent requirement not getting generated

    Hi Experts,
We have an issue wherein we have Depedent requirement for a HALB material against FERT material requirement. But, the MD04 screen of HALB material doesn't show any Dependent requirement.
Infact, the MD04 screen of the FERT material shows NROC in the MRP element data for the given period.
NROC: It means that there are some errorneous components which were created by doing GR before a GI.
I had tried executing MF47 transaction(which is COGI equivalanet in REM scenario) for clearing the errorneous components. But, i got the error as "Deficit of BA Unrestricted use". So,it means that it shall use my current stock for post processing the error componenets, which ideally shouldn't been the case as the stock was already consumed.
Then, i found out that the BOM of FERT was not maintained.
So,just wanna know that coz BOM of FERT is not maintained & the HALB needs to be defined as a component in the BOM of FERT in this case?
or any other solution is there so that Depedent requirement for the HALB material reflects in MD04 screen.
What we want: The recurring NPROC requirement which is coming for the year 2009, 2010 should permanently vanish from MD04 screen.
    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Harendra,
Are you using "NETPL" as processing key for MD02? After 3 or 4 days is the dependent requirment getting created automatically or is it after MRP run again?
    Please provide more details,

  • What are the required settings for Quality Certificate

    Hi Team
What are the required settings for Quality Certificate for Raw material from vendor. This is my RR - Result Recording  for inspection lot.
Please sugget me T-Code to view this.
Can I see say for 6-9 months RR done insp. lot.
    Thanks

Settings for Quality Certificate for Raw material from vendor,
Activate QM Procurement key, enter qm control key with certificate and Enter certificate type in certificate field.
    There are 2 cases,
u want details of certificate send by vendor
u want to record results and see inspection lot wise results.
    case1
depending upon the certificate selected by u, system will give u warning or error msg for certificate confirmation at the time of gr. for confirmation QC51 t_code is used. here status has to be changed to 'filed and inspected' then gr will be allowed.
all these certificates can be dispalyed in QC55 T_CODE.
    CASE2
U can record results and see in inspection report tab in QA33

  • What settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE

    hai friends
what settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Vinay,
    1. For DP_PROC_TY  you need to give the transaction type or R/3 document type you want to use for creating direct material POs. Could be ECDP given in the standard or copy of which you might  have created.
    2. For CT_PROC_TY it is either PCTR or GCTR depending what you want to create local contract or GOA.
    3. TEND_TYPE can have BID, RFCR etc depending on what type of bid invitaion you want to create form sourcing cockpit or as follow on bid invitaion.

  • What is the required hardware to control AMC servo amplifier model 30A20AC?

    Hi everybody,
What is the required hardware to control "Advanced Machine Controls" servo amplifier Series 30A-AC, model 30A20AC?
The interface hardware should connect to a laptop, and run in real-time.
    Tnank you

    Hi Nkhbeik,
I went to ni.com/motion >> choose NI Motion Hardware.  I then filtered out the hardware that did not support Real-Time by clicking on Real-Time on the left hand side of the page.  There are a number of results returned.  Depending on how many axis you need, you can filter the results further.  Any of the results can be used with the appropriate connector, either a cRIO chassis (for the 9505), a PXI Chassis (for PXI formfactor), or a PCI Extension device for a PCI card.  I hope this helps!

    Hi,
To put it in simple words consider the following examples:
in a car manufacturing company, lets say Swift:
The sales department forecast the sales for swift which is sent to the production depaertment.
This requirement for the finished product is called Independent Req.
Now based on this dependent req, you will have to have the other material like tyres, engines etc.
This engine, tyres etc are forecasted based on the dependent req.
    This are called Dependent Req.
Net Req: Lets say your total Dependent Req for tyres is 100 tyres, and you have 20 in stock, so 80 will become your net req.

  • Dependent requirements

    Dear friends,
For example I am having a Sales order for 20 items. Due to some constrains, at a time I can not produce more than 1 item. So I am creating a production order for 1 item with reference to a sales order (using CO08).
My problem is while running MRP, system is creating the dependent requirements for all the 20items. So I want to run MRP for the production order (like MD50 for sales order). Otherwise my MRP run should not consider the Sales orders for the dependent requirements calculation.
Dependent requirements for all the 20 items is creating a big confusion. My scenario is pure MTO. Down the line all the production is for the respective sales order only.
    Please suggest me...
    Regards.

    Hi Kodand Nag,
Please explain your scenario once again, I get confused little bit,
What I understood from your last reply, u have created sale order  with order qty is 20 nos for one material. (I assume).
Then u have created prod order for one Nos (Partially – since is capacity constraint) with reference to sale order.(CO08).
In MTO, system consider the sale order to create dependent requirements for dependent  material.
Here u want system to consider production order not sale order requirements  – This is not possible.
My solution is since u have converted partially qty as Production order, order reservations should have created for dependent material, if u run the MRP for dependent material (Next one below the header material) , sale order requirements is not taken into the account only production order req. I hope i am not mistaken, else please comeback.

  • List of dependent requirements of planned order for a component

    Dear guru ,
I search a list of dependent requirements of planned order for a component
    What do you suggest ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Cristano,
Go to MD04 transaction, enter comopenet and plant. Then from the list select the Planned order and click on the Order Report from the bottom tool bar available below the list.
You can see the componets details for that planned order.

  • Strategy for dependent requirements.

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in a MTS scenario,where 'X' is the Header Material & 'Y' its Assembly(with small sub-assemblies inside).
Now 'X' is produced on order as well as some std.ratings forecasted.Basically strategy '40' (Planning with final assembly).
Assembly 'Y' is produced for stock(in anticipation of incomind orders for 'X') as well as sold.
Planning is done basically for 'X' as well as 'Y' in the PIR Planning table.
My question is :Header material 'X' is given strategy '40'.What about 'Y' ? since it is also being sold & kept in stock for 'Y'.
My concern is when i plan individually  for 'Y' its dependent requirements should get generated.
So what should be the startegy for 'Y'.
    Please advise.
    Points assured.
    Best Regards
    Afroz

Usually in this scenario we use strategy 70 for Y
What is the advantage of 70 is,
You can plan 70 weel in advance, example- let us say you planned 100 TO for Y, Run MRP and start producing Y,
Now let us say there is any dependent requirement from X, let us say 75 TO, then  the PIR will be come 100-75 ie 25 TO. Hence you have
    PIR = 25 TO
    Dep req from X = 75 To
Total requirement still is still 100 TO.
coam back if you need more help

  • System considers dependant requirements lying outside planning horizon

    Hello Experts,
Iam running the MRP for procurement. I have defined a planning horizon so that system will consider the requirements of that period. Iam using NETPL as my planning method in MRP. I wanted to create only purchase requisitions during this period so I selected 1 as my creation indicator as well.
But the issue Iam facing is, system is not skipping the dependant requirements which is outside planning horizon. System skips only PIRs.
For all the dependant requirements outside planning horizon, system creates planned orders and for those within plannning horizon system creates purchase requisition. Is there any settings to skip system considering dependant requirements outside planning horizon.??
    Thanks
    Prathib

    Hello
I believe that there is a misunderstanding about what exactly is the planning horizon. Using a planning horizon does not means that the requirements outside the horizon will not be planned.
The planning horizon represents a part of the planning area, where a planning file entry is made for the MRP processing key net change planning in the planning horizon (NETPL).
In this kind of net change planning, only those materials that have undergone a change that is relevant to MRP within the planning horizon are included in the planning run. Such materials receive a net change planning indicator in the planning file.
That means, if an MRP relevant change is made for a material within the planning horizon, the planning file entry NEPLT is set for this material.
You can check in the SAP Help how the planning horizon works, see below:
"You can also use a planning horizon to further limit the scope of the planning run. In "net change planning in the planning horizon", the system only plans materials that have undergone a change that is relevant to the planning run within the period which you defined as the planning horizon. The system sets the net change planning horizon indicator automatically for these materials."

    e829fbfe/frameset.htm
So, the planning horizon only define is the planning file will be marked as "net change planning".

  • Planning of dependant requirements in continuous production

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is as follows.
We are producing a bulk material and packing it in to bags. We have orders for bulk material and packaging material. This is a continuous production. i.e. we donu2019t have to wait till the completion of the bulk material production to start the packing.
Just after the production of 1st batch of bulk, I can start packing. This means the bulk material order and packing material order are overlapped. How can I map this scenario in R/3 MRP so that the overlap appears in the scheduling?
    Thanks & Regards
    Prathib

    Prathib,
What I am looking for is an overlap when I run MRP.
I am going to assume that the 'bulk material' is a component of the 'packing material'. I believe you can achieve your requirement through your BOM explosions.  The dates of dependent requirements can easily be offset from the start date of the higher level (packing) order.
One method is to assign portions of the Bulk component BOM to different routing operations of the higher level (packing) production order.  For this to work, you obviously must have more than one operation in the higher level (packing) order.  You also must use Lead time scheduling during the MRP run to make this work for the planned orders.
A second method is to use a fixed offset. In this case, the lower level (bulk) order completion date is offset from the higher level (packing) start date by a fixed duration of days.  This offset can be entered at the detailed item level in the BOM (CS02)
Finally, you can create a distribution function (OPB3), and a distribution key (OSPA), in which you can fine tune exactly the timing of the dependent requirements, using 'percentage of completion logic'.  This distribution key can then be assigned at the detailed item level of the BOM.

  • What all steps required in IR and ID?

    Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me, what all steps required in IR and ID for the webservice (SOAP Adapter) - XI - JDBC Adapter synchronous scenario.
Do we have any blog for this scenario( Beginner level)?
    Regards
    Sara

    Sara,
The scenario in terma of Integration Respository will be like say a HTTP to JDBC .
    1. Create Dataytypes for request and response of SOAP and JDBC respectively.
    2. Create Messagetypes.
    3. Create Message Interfaces ( One Synch Outbound for SOAP and Oune Synch Inbound for JDBC).
    4. Create 2 message mappings and interface mapping.
The datatype you create for the JDBC depends on the Action you want to perform on the Database.
Do you want to Insert or update or delete or select data from the database?
Look into this link for the datatype formats,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm
Also in ID will be the same with 1 receievr determinations, 1 interface determinations , 1 sender SOAP adapter,1 Receievr JDBC adapter amd Sender and Receiver Agrreements.
Finally you need to expose the Outbound Messgae interface as a webservice and to do this, look into section 3.2.2 of this article,

  • CIF - Dependent Requirements for Product Planned Externally

    Hi Experts,
I have flagged a product in APO to be planned externally [Procurement type: P - external procurement planning].
I see it has Planned Externally in the Planned Orders where it is used as a component.
My problem is that que Requirements are not transfered to R/3 so the product can be planned by MRP.
What are the necessayr settings to maintain (excluding the technical CIF settings to connect R/3 to APO).
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Kumar,
So basically, you are saying that I can only transfer planned orders through the CIF and that I was wrong in assuming that I could transfer Dependent Requirements directly ?
    Thanks,
    Marc
