What is dummy G/L a/c

1. Can any one please explain me “At the time of transactional data uploading do we need to create ”.dummy G/L . What is dummy G/L a/c.How maney we have to create.
2. If yes how many dummy G/L a/c do need to create.
3. Please provide me what are all prerequisites for transactional data uploading. please explain in brief, If you any document please forward to " [email protected]"

If you are referring to use of Dummy G/L a/c at the time of initial data uploads during go-live, then you will be using it for the following:
1. Loading Opening Balances of different Balance Sheet Accounts
2. Loading Opening Balances of different P&L Accounts.
Example entry will be
Customer A/c                   Dr
    To Dummy 1 A/c
Dummy 2 A/c                   Dr
    To Vendor A/c
Stationery A/c                  Dr
    To Dummy 3 A/c
At the end of the day, if you add up all the different dummy accounts, it should net to 0.00.  The reason why you need to use this is because, you are not loading the detail level transactions and you are only uploading the beginning balances.  It also becomes easy to reconcile at the end of data loads.
You can have any number of dummy accounts, but it is advised to have dummy accounts for A/R, A/P, Inventory, Fixed Assets and All Other Accounts.
Assign Points accordingly.
