What is effect of "Update EXIF From Master"?
I can't find an explanation of this menu item. A search within the manual returns nothing (?!).
A list view of my library in the browser shows that some photos do not have a lens information entry while others do. However, if I select a photo that has no entry and then click the "Update EXIF From Master" entry in the Metadata menu the lens information appears. Nothing else appears to be changed.
However, not knowing what this option exactly does I am not sure if anything else is changed.
This begs the question as to why some photos have that information while others do not (but can be made to appear).
Aperture's metadata handling in the 1.x days skipped or missed some things (e.g. lens info). So images imported in the 1.x days may not have all the details. For these images, if you've upgraded to Aperture 2, running this may get you more EXIF info on the photo.
For images that have been imported in the last 6 months, its not going to do anything at all.
The one exception is if you somehow add GPS info to the RAW files themselves (with a tagging application) after they've already been imported. I think Ian Wood has a couple applications that will do this. Anyway, if you run this command after adding GPS info to a RAW file, I think Aperture will pick it up (I haven't managed yet to successfully add GPS info to a shot tho').

Is there a way to determine what sites have refreshed at the master level ? Is there a system table or v$view that contains this information ?

No delta's for DTP from master data object to Info Cube
Hello,
I have a DTP process that updates records from master data attributes to Info cube.
Here i am not able to schedule a DTP in delta mode. The option appears in display mode.
Even though when i tried deleting the FULL update DTP and created a new DTP, the delta option is in display mode. i have deleted all requests from my info cube.
Any idea or solution !!

If you want load Master Data DELTAs to Cube, you can achive this by introducing a DSO before Master Data Infoobjects.

Auto price master update(vk11) from Z Report values

My requirement is, I have developed a Z Costing report. From there my material price will be calculated on monthly basis.Same price i have to update in Pricing master under one fixed condition type. When ever i run the Z report the price for that material should get updated in the master.

Update the Vendor master from Employee master - PRAA

I need to know the process of updating multiple vendors from multiple employee data .i.e.bank,address and pernr.
I was using PRAA transaction but it was not updating ...i think i miss some entries..especially file path...
what are the steps need to be taken care of ...what should be in the file in the file path?

I checked the documentation..and found my error...actually the PRAA is updating vendor with employee data only when the employee number(PERNR) is updated in Vendor master...so i updated the field PERNR in Accounting section of Vendor then i ran the transaction PRAA it worked...it created the session and i processed the session..
My question is ..is the PERNR is mandatory in Vendor master record?
and How iam going to update the multiple vendor records with multilple Employee records? since the vendor for Reference is the single filed?

Aperture 3: GPS data gets lost after 'Update from Master'
My library contains photos in JPEG format that I geotag in Places, then I save the metadata with 'Write IPTC Metadata to Master'. The problem I have is, that the GPS data gets lost after I do an 'Update from Master', even if I saved the metadata before. I'm having this problem with referenced and managed photos and all my JPEGs from several different cameras. The only way to permanently store the GPS info into my photos seems to be to export the geotagged photos as versions.
Does anybody has the same problem or knows how to solve this?

MichaelUse Houdah geo (http://www.houdah.com) to write location data back to the EXIF. It's interface is very similar to Places (Google maps and pins) and you can interface with the Aperture library. It's a bit of a pain, but if you need it done now rather than wait for an Aperture 3 fix, then...

What are the tables will update while loading Master data ? And requesting you to provide more information about Master data loading and its related settings in the beginning of creation infoobjects.It depends upon the type of Master data u r loading....
In all the master data loadings, for every new value of master data an SID will be created in the SID table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME> irrespective of the type of master data.
But the exceptional tables that get updated depending on the type of master data are.....
If it is a time Independent master data then the /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If it is a time dependent master data then the /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If the master data is of time Independent Navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/X<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
If the master data is of time dependent navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/Y<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
NOTE: As said above, For all the data in P, Q, T, X, Y tables the SID's will be created in the S table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME>
NOTE: Irrespective of the time dependency or Independency the VIEW /BI*/M<INFOOBJECT NAME> defined on the top of /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> & /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> tables gives the view of entire master data.
NOTE: it is just a View and it is not a Table. So it will not have any physical storage of data.
All the above tables are for ATTRIBUTES
But when it comes to TEXTS, irrespective of the Time dependency or Independency, the /BI*/T<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated (and of course the S table also).
Naming Convention: /BIC/*<InfoObject Name> or /BI0/*<InfoObject Name>
C = Customer Defined Characteristic
0 = Standard or SAP defined Characteristic
* = P, Q, T, X,Y, S (depending on the above said conditions)

Running Windows XP service pack 3. Updated Firefox from 8.0 to 9.0. Now when Firefox opens "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" is displayed in a window and no home page appears. What's wrong?
That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

It is safe to download if your phone is not jailbroken. Before you download it, however, take some precautions:
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall
Connect the phone cable to a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub
Before updating right click on the name of the phone in iTunes and choose "Backup"
When you are given the choice choose "Download only", not "Download and Update"
After the download completes successfully click the Update button to install it.
Most of these steps are just being overly cautious, as most people ignore them and have no problems. But occasionally the extra steps save grief. -

Whatsapp should work fine.
Doing the upgrade over iTunes will give you the opportunity to make a full backup of your phone first, and will most likely provide for a faster and smoother upgrade. I'd do it that way, and will once I get home later tongith. -
I have CS6 and I just got a new Leica D-LUX and can not view my RAW (.RWL) images in Bridge what do I do? I already tried updating Bridge from the Help menu.
Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...

The iPad is telling you to connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer so do it. You may have to restore the device.

In Layman terms, what the heck does updating your carrier settings mean, and how does it effect me in the real world?
No offense, but what carrier? what data and what service?
I get a bogus window hovering in my itunes page, telling me I have to update information, that I don't want to manage.
I am not upset or unappreciative of your feedback, quite the opposite, I can't believe anyone actually monitors peoples frustrations.
I just want to make sure I don't allow information about me that is not necessary. I just want to listen to music and have a phone and have an ipad.
Everything else about apple is way to propriatory. I don't want to do anything that isn't very simple.
Most importantly, there never seems to be any (human being) that can answer a telephone call anymore.
Contact us, means...send us an email about something you don't know anything about, and I don't even know that questions to ask.
