Showed up during sync - said my itunes library couldn't be saved. But library is still intact (at this point) and so is ipod!

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

What is error 5002, and how do I get rid of it?

I recently placed an item (video) from the itunes store into my shopping cart.
Ever since... when I select the "shopping cart" in itunes, I immediatly recieve the message:
"We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occured (5002). There was an error in the Music store. Please try again later."
Sadly, I cannot get past this error to either purchase and download the item or remove the item from the shopping cart.
Anyone know how to fix this? Is the contents of the shopping cart stored in a preference file or cookie on my machine which I can delete?

That specific error has to do with Movie Rentals.
From "iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting:"
This alert is related to iTunes Store movie rentals and authorization issues.
Make sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes and QuickTime. They both can be downloaded free of charge.
If your iTunes is up to date, remove the SC Info folder.
As the article says above, if you continue to have issues then refer to "iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases" for instructions on how to remove the "SC Info" folder.

Try a soft-reset and see if it works after your phone has restarted (it seems ot have fixed the error for a number of people on here) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

if you know it turn off in settings- general - passcodelock
if you dont know it do this
recovery mode
open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not iOS device
turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

That is the orientation lock indicator. It means that you phone will not go into landscape mode when tilted on it's side.
To turn orientation lock off double tap the home button, to access the multitasking menu, then swipe your finger to the right over the multitasking bar at the bottom and touch the big button on the left with the padlock.

Such symptoms bode serious hardware issues and you shouldn't think about fixing it yourself when you are still in waranty. Get to an Apple Store, like the other poster suggests.

Same issue here. I tried to follow the suggestion and open the entry in the missed calls list, but when I tap it, a new FaceTime call Is triggered. I do have to delete the entry by swiping left and tap "delete" to get rid of the red circle.
