What is "feature" in HR?

Hi Experts,
What is feature in HR? this term is quite new to me. I saw it in the IMG but still not sure what it is.
Thanks!
- Anthony -

Hi Anthony,
The objective of FEATURE is to DEFAULT a fixed value when maintaining MASTER DATA.
Some of very frequently used are: NUMKR, ABKRS, SCHKZ, PINCH, TARIF etc. etc.
Features are setup using Transaction code PE03.
How it works???
For example you have setup a FEATURE NUMKR to default Number Range when executing a Hiring Action......
This Feature NUMKR will be called in the Module Pool of the Infotype 0000 screen...and based on the decision parameters setup in NUMKR Feature, it will generate a value.....
It will take time to understand this funda... but to summarize, it is to DEFAULT values.
Good Luck !!!! Welcome to SAP HR....!!!!

  • So, what new features actually exist in CC Premiere vs. CS6?

Anything new at this point? I know a feature comparision will be difficult as time goes on since the features will be regularly released but I'm curious. I'm debating, I can upgrade from CS5 to CS6 for $525 now and be good for the next few years, or at least until I can see what new features are coming out that I'm missing. Basically, a CS6 upgrade is cheaper than 18 months of CC so what would we expect to miss out on?

For a more extensive, detailed list, check out the post in the Premiere Pro work area blog here:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/premierepro/2013/04/the-next-version-of-premiere-pro.html
The Sync Settings feature that takes advantage of Creative Cloud was announced after that post, and is described here:

  • What new features in Lightroom 6 ?

With Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 6 expected to be released later this year, what new featured would you like to see in the new version ?.

    Dumb Marine,
It seems at least some of your requests are already implemented, thus I was confused by having them requested for Lr6.

This is already implemented, no? I mean, images can be stored anywhere (that's always been true), and @Lr5 one can edit via smart previews when 'real' image is offline.
    DumbMarine wrote:
    2. Use 64 bit operating systems and GPU acceleration.
Lr already takes advantage of 64-bit operating systems (but not GPU acceleration). In other words, the 64-bit version is a recompilation of the source code, not a 32-bit version that runs on 64-bit computers too.
    DumbMarine wrote:
    3. Font size in panels should be resizable - thought everyone in the world had done this to enable Users?
Not sure what you meant by the 2nd part of this, but part1 can be done using Jeffrey Friedl's Online Lightroom Configurator.
    DumbMarine wrote:
    5. Should be independant of Creative Cloud (I KNOW this will NEVER happen!!!) if the User chooses.
User can choose to buy/maintain Lightroom independent of Creative Cloud now. Granted, if you buy Photoshop + Lightroom, Lightroom will be available via the cloud, but even then you can download and install independently if you prefer - stand-alone download will find creative cloud licensing, I *think* (somebody correct me if that's wrong).
    DumbMarine wrote:

It already does - always has.
Perhaps I've misunderstood what you were asking/hoping for in some cases - if so, please forgive and enlighten...

  • What is feature CARGP?

    hi,
i need to use the value returned by this feature CARGP as input to compensation area. what is feature CARGP?  How to call this feature?
    Thanks&Regards,
    Ajay

    Compensation Area (CARGP)
       Object
         feature
       Task
Enables you to set a default compensation area for a group of employees
based on geographical or organizational criteria. Compensation areas are
defined as subtypes of infotype Compensation Program (0758).
       Use
This feature provides a default compensation area when you create a new
         record for the above-mentioned infotype.
       Procedure
         1.  In the decision tree, you can either edit nodes in the existing
structure and select a compensation area that you have defined in
Customizing (table T71ADM01), or create a new structure.
         2.  Save your changes.
         3.  Activate the feature.
       Example
Compensation area 10, related to the salary review of the US subsidiary
and valid for all employees based in the US.
Compensation area 99, related to the company LTI plan and valid for all
         employees worldwide.

  • What extra features can be had with the airport with my iPad? I do not have a Mac computer so I update on my friends, and store imfo on an external hard drive when needed.

I use my iPad for everything, if I had airport what more fantastic things could I do with my iPad? I have not invested in a printer, I watch Netflix , I have the camera adapters, use the camera daily. Video storage and Netflix streaming are two areas I need ideas for.

You could download airport utility for ios 5 on your ipade. Like this you can update your airport directly from your ipad and you don't need a mac or pc.
If your airport is an airport express you can use the airtunes feature.

  • What Keynote features will not export well to PowerPoint?

I am an expert PC user switching to mac...
We use MS Live Meeting for webinars, and it only accepts (as far as I know) PowerPoint presentations. I would like to produce the presentation in Keynote, and then save as to PowerPoint. However, my experience with Pages importing office 07 has been disappointing to say the least.
So, before I spend a lot of time learning Keynote, I would like to know what features of Keynote WILL NOT export properly to PPT. I don't want to spend a lot of time creating cool effect (magic move?) only to realize it was wasted.
Is there a URL that explains what won't work? Is there a way to gray out features in keynote that will not work in PPT?
    Thanks
    bob

Here are a few issues with exporting:
Generally the transitions will not export well -- any of the effects that are not directly available in PowerPoint will not transfer at all, and even those that are available (such as "dissolve") for the most part look worse in PowerPoint than in Keynote. This includes "content-aware slide transitions" such as Magic Move, Text Effects, and Object Effects transitions.
Smart Builds are not supported at all. Action Builds are not supported at all.
"Normal" Builds In and Out have limited support -- again, any of the animations not directly available in PowerPoint will not transfer.
In terms of graphics, Drop Shadows have limited support -- any shadows will be rendered as a solid colour, without translucency or feathered edges. Text translucency is not supported, although image translucency is. Image Adjustments are respected in export.
(The above is all gleaned from spending 5 minutes playing with Keynote. If you want to determine if some specific effect is available, I'd suggest downloading the trial version and see what happens.)
I have used Keynote quite successfully to create PowerPoint presentations, but for the most part I avoided any animations/transitions, and used it primarily for its templates, graphic abilities, and easier management of slides (e.g., I find it far more straightforward to edit templates in Keynote than in PowerPoint). Also, I always check the finished product very carefully in PowerPoint, as it is not uncommon for text spacing to be somewhat different.

  • How do I find out what "new" features, if any, are in incremental version updates to CC?

In olden days, Adobe would tell you what was fixed and what was added to new micro-versions of a product. I've noticed now that when I get an update to Photoshop or Bridge, it can be over 100mb but nowhere does it say what the update is for like new features, bug fixes, etc. Does anyone know if there is a version changelog or anything similar that explains what each new incremental update does or fixes? Since we are paying now for our Photoshop and new implementations are supposed to be included (thus no more major new versions), I'd like to know what these new incremental updates actually do and what new and wonderous things Adobe has come up with. Anyone know??

    Hi,
You can read about the 14.1.1 & 2 updates here:

  • I want to export acquired data via XML to a remote URL/web service. Is there some online reference for EXACTLY what XML features are available in 6.1?

Is there any online reference to the XML methods available in 6.1?
I would like to set up a LabView system that acquires data from local hardware, and then sends acquired data as XML "packets" to a remote web service. I can't seem to find any online reference to this when I search the site. I don't want the "gee golly 6.1 is cool" marketing stuff. Just a simple technical reference to abilities.

If you're looking for more technical information about all the new features of 6.1, try the LabVIEW 6.1 Upgrade Notes. Here's what they say about the XML functions:
"Use the Flatten to XML function located on the Functions»Advanced»Data Manipulation palette to convert any LabVIEW data type to the XML format according to the LabVIEW XML schema. Use the Unflatten from XML function located on the same palette to convert a data type in the XML format into LabVIEW data.
For these conversions, LabVIEW uses a predefined XML schema that is described in labview\help\LVXMLSchema.xsd."

Would anyone have a link to an official Oracle white paper regarding Feature Packs?
This is a new term for us and I would like a thorough understanding of what this involves, both technically and functionally. In particular, I am interested in understanding the impact of applying future Maintenance Packs and Bundles. For instance, if a feature pack is installed, would subsequent maintenance packs and bundles include patches for the new features?

  • What is feature about programing on 10g that have been deprecated on 11g?

    Hi All
I knew just about new feature and enhancement on 11g but I don't know about programming feature that have been deprecated or obsoleted on 11g.
Because my client concerned If they will upgrade to 11g, What have source codes been impacted or need to be rewritten?
Updated : I opened SR for this question already if I got any information, I will share to you all ASAP.
    Thank you for advance.

Well, I know at least one 10g behavior that changed in 11g (and it is documented). In 10g XML extract method automatically applied pretty-print:

And on 11g XML method will not pretty-print. Using XMLSERIALIZE, will:

    What you

    I shouldn't
