What is forms builder version for R12  ? prob. for 6i forms  ?

hi..guys..
Currently we have oracle apps..11.5.10-----> forms version 6i
Now, we are upgrading apps to R12...so all the custom forms which are in 6i needs to be migrated to forms 10g so they can be compatible with oracle EBS release 12.
So, I am opening forms which were created using 6i in form builder 10g. Then getting connected with the database created for R12...so it takes R12 library references...so at this time forms builder 10g is crashing......
I am using FORMS 32 BIT VERSION 9.0.4.0.19 (PRODUCTION)..Oracle Developer Suite 10g...to modify and compile 6i forms...so I can put them on R12 instance...
Problem is everytime I try to compile 6i form after opening it in 10g forms builder, it crashes ....so what is the best way to compile 6i forms to make them compatible with R12 ....?
thanks...

Does this happen to all forms or certain ones only?
You need to open the forms in Form Builder 10g (Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2)), compile it, save it then upload it back to the server.

Is this true ? I request all members to share there knowledge about Forms in R12.
    I hope you will reply.
    Thanks

Oracle will lunch a new version of Forms iDS and its expected during june 2007 , but its still Forms Builder just like the old ones and the specific features and not announced yet but its expected to have a rich Javascript support which can enable you to integrate your forms with the other web tools like JSF (ADF faces),

  • Does Windows Forms Builder version need to match Solaris A/S version ?

We have Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on our Windows client developer PCs. Recently we patched our Solaris Application Server to 10.1.2.2.0.
Do we need to patch our client Forms Builder in order to match versions, since we only design and save the forms in Windows ? (they get moved and compiled on Solaris)
    Thanks,
    Dave

The AS Forms version must be not lower than Forms Builder version. We develop some applications with Forms 6i (Client), and compile the same on AS 10.1.2.

  • What is the build version for Sharepoint 2013 Server including trial version there is one?

    Hello Community
When using WS2012 and Sharepoint 2013 Server, what
build version for a Sharepoint 2013 Server farm should
be applied and where do you get the cumulative update
for it (trial version also if there is one)?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know which SharePoint build version should be applied to Windows Server 2012 and where to get cumulative update.
If you want to use SharePoint in Windows Server 2012, you can use the RTM version 15.0.4420.1017.
For CU update and build version, I suggest you can refer the detailed article below:

    Thanks

  • SCM and Forms Builder version control

    Hi,
I would like to start using Oracle 10g SCM repository with Forms builder for version control. The idea would be that the forms developers do not use Repository Object Navigator.
I read from the instructions that Oracle9i Forms Developer requires the .fmb and other associated files to be located on an accessible disk, i.e. outside of the Oracle9i SCM repository. Thus to edit a .fmb file it must first be downloaded to a file system. That means that the developer needs to use RON. Is that really so? What is the reason for that?
When I was testing the version control functionality with Forms Builder I realized that the users cannot easily determine if a file is checked in or our unless they use RON or try to perform the action (i.e. check in or out). Is there any other solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Tomi

    Hi user574160
Subversion is seen as the natural successor of CVS, and so is a natural choice for many development sites out there.
Note you should have a look at the following Re: Configuration Management in Forms 6i regards Subversion locking to ensure the integrity of your binary forms files.
In turn the Subversion Book under section 3 Locking gives a good explanation of protecting binary files.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is Oracle Forms builder version 10.1.2.0.2 certified with Windows 7 ?

    Hello
I need to change my old PC that is running 32 bit XP.
On this PC , I have installed Oracle Forms builder 10.1.2.0.2
I need to keep this version of forms as my customer is running the same version on linux.
I wish to upgrade my PC and install Windows7 (32 bit ) . Is Windows7 certified with Oracle Form builder 10.1.2.0.2?
    Thanks

    Hello Sunny,
I just asked that same question in a service request a few days ago and got this answer from Oracle Support:
Question "Could you please also check if Forms/Reports Builder *10g* (10.1.2.3.0) are being certified for Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit)? As far as I know Forms/Reports Builder 10g are currently not certified for Win7 at all."
    ODM Answer / Action Plan:
"According to product management and http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html , Windows 7 is certified as a client platform for 10.1.2.3, however production runtime deployments on Windows 7 is not supported for this version. You can build your Forms applications using Forms Builder on Windows 7 and test it, but when it is time to deploy it in a multi user environment, it needs to be deployed on a supported production deployment. So it should be ok to install iDS 10.1.2.3 on Windows 7 and develop your applications. The installation should be according to How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 on Windows Vista (Doc ID 559067.1). The note is for Vista, but the instructions apply for Windows 7 as well."
So I'd assume Windows 7 to be supported as well with Forms and Reports Builder 10.1.2.3.0.

  • Japanese Forms Builder Version

    Hi,
Originally oracle forms were developed using Japanese version of 6i forms builder in a Japanese version of Windows OS.
Can I open and modify those forms in English version of 6i Forms builder after setting the NLS_LANG parameter in Registry and default.env file.My OS supports the japanese characters(XP Professional).
After making changes at English version, will I be able to compile and deploy it back into Japanese version of Windows OS.
Please clarify. Thanks for the help.
    Best Regards

yes, that will work - FormsBuilder is fully unicode enabled. - There is only one thing you need to take care: make sure your NLS_LANG character encoding supports japanese kanji characters or else you are going to lose code comments/captions/etc.
For example AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8/JA16SJIS/A16EUC are ok ... but AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8??? charactersets are not!

  • What is the exact version of JRE required for Discoverer 10.1.2.2?

    Hello,
I understand that through Application Server Control it is possible to set whether Discoverer Plus should use "Oracle JInitiator" or "Sun Java Plug-in 1.4".
The problem I have is that, due to immoveable restrictions in place on the workstations where Discoverer Plus the will be used, it is not possible for the browser to automatically download and install either the Sun Java Plug-In 1.4 or JInitiator to the end-user's workstation the first time the user tries to access Discoverer Plus.
In this environment, the only way to get either JInitiator or Sun Java Plug-in 1.4 (which I assume just means the Sun JRE) onto the users' workstations is for an administrator to manually install it. So my questions are:
    1) What is the exact version of JInitiator required to run Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.2?
    2) What is the exact version of Sun JRE required to run Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.2?
    3) If the workstations already have another more recent version of Sun JRE installed, is there any way to get Discoverer Plus to use that version?
    Thanks for your help,
    Andy

    Resolved.

  • Form Builder crashes whenever I try to run form locally

    Hello,
I am using Oracle Developer Suite 10g (Forms 9.0.4.0.19) on Windows XP SP3, IE8.
Whenever I try to execute (run) form from Forms Builder locally Forms Builder just crashes (get error: Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close ).
    Any help please
    Best regards.

First, the Builder crashing has nothing to do with what browser you are using. The Builder crashing is a Builder issue. It is possible that the Builder is crashing due to a corrupted installation or permissions issue at the OS level. It could also be a bug. So, as I mentioned already, it may be time to upgrade to a more 21st century version of the product or at least consider applying a current patch to what you have. Patches are only available to customers with access to MyOracleSupport.

  • Forms builder- only displays records created in the form builder?

Hi there. I am new to Oracle and forms builder. I just have a query. I have created a form and when I run the form, it doesnt display the data out of my database. I can add a new record using the form and it will add it to my database:
    >
    STUDENTI FIRSTNAME LASTNAME GENDER DOB
    ADDRESS SUBURB PHONE
    20737785 Lock McIntyre Male 28-DEC-88
    384 Waterfall Gully Rosebud 0359811618
    20784939 Tim Carley F 20-FEB-89
    20 Armstrong Rd McCrae 0359811310
    20837785 LAchlan McIntyre M 28-DEC-09
    Hello Hell 5981131803
    >
But it will only display the records that I have added using the form. Example, the first two records above were already in the database. I couldnt view them ith the form, but then I added the bottom record and I could only view that record in the form, but not the others.
Any ideas why? I think I just dont know how to use the forms builder properly. Many thanks

Forms starts with an empty screen(no records), only when you execute a query, the records are retrieved from the database.
This can be done by executing the "execute_query" command.
This can be done by pushing the button in the toolbaar, choosing the menu item, hitting the function key.
But it can also be done programmatically in forms code(in a trigger).
    I hope this helps...

  • Can't access a university location for class could with former FF version please retore me to the former FF (upgraded today now problems)

    Hey,
Earlier today I clicked on for a FF upgrade. Now I no longer am able to get Skype, and can not access my University of Dallas imba site to listen to today's lecture and access notes etc...crucial...I took the afternoon off from work to do this...and I am clearly frustrated...moral...if it ain't broke don't fix it...less is more.. PLEASE RETURN ME TO MY FORMER FIREFOX STATUS - WHICH CRASHED TOO MUCH, BUT I COULD
    GET BACK TO IT.
Imba tells me that my browser will not allow me to get to the online course.
    Worked fine yesterday :)
    Thank you.

Do you recall what version you had before, i.e., 6.0.1 or 3.6.22?
There's no easy way to peel off an update. You could reinstall an earlier version over what you have, but it might be faster to run a "portable" version of Firefox from a USB flash drive for those sites that are not compatible on an emergency basis.

  • What is the OPTIMAL version of the OS for a 2010 Mac mini?

Searching for expert opinions on which is the optimal (not necessarily the latest) version of OS X to run on a 2.4GHz Mac mini 4,1 2010 model, built in Feb of 2011?  It's currently on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  This is my wife's machine.
Additionaly, if it happens to be 10.7.5, are there any considerations when attaching an external FW800 2-GB hard drive regarding partitioning the drive?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for this information!
    You are welcome!
I assume you are satisfied that the worst bugs in ML have been fixed.
Yes, Mountain Lion runs as well as Snow Leopard.
We're upgrading my wife's Mac mini to 4 GB and hope that will be fine for her, as she's not a Photoshop user, does not do video or play games.  I hope the ML OS is not such a resource hog that it requires the *8GB you have.
Mountain Lion and Safari are both pretty big RAM hogs and will pretty much use the better part of 4GB. If she plans on running Mail, iTunes, iPhoto, etc. at the same time, then your going to want to fix her up with 8GB.
For Example: besides the basic Mountain Lion processes, Safari and iTunes I'm using a little over 4GB.
However if I open other App's like iPhoto, OpenOffice, Google Earth for example's, I can easily use 6GB+

  • What is the newest version of Microsoft odbc for oracle

We are trying to integrate UPS Worldship with Oracle 10g. Everything worked fine when the system was on 9i. The writeback after every shipment takes about 30 seconds. I want to make sure we are on the latest version. Our current version is 2.575.1117.00. Thanks, John

Microsoft hasn't been updating their ODBC driver for Oracle in quite some time, so I would generally suggest not using it. My recollection is that Oracle 10g finally got rid of the old OCI7 array fetch functionality that had been depricated since 8i when the new OCI interface came out. This caused performance issues for any applications that hadn't been updated to use the OCI8 interface. Unfortunately for you, the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle was one of the legacy applications that had never been updated, so performance went south rather significantly.
I would strongly suggest using the Oracle ODBC driver instead.
