What is Formula for 'BS' Method of Extended Safety Stock Planning ?
Hello SNP Experts,
I have a Important Question regarding Extended Safety Stock Planning Calculation in SNP Module.
I have read the SCM Help, SDN Forums and SNP Training Course help, but am unable to find the Formula to Calculate Safety Stocks using the Beta Service Level (Method 'BS') for the Extended Safety Stock Planning Methods.
Reading the help, training material, past SDN Questions I do understand the Standard Formula for Safety Stock is ...
S.S = ServiceLevel x SQRT (ReplLeadTime) x StdDevDemand
However there are Factors like below that are definable in the Location-Product Master ...
1. Forecast Error %
2. Replenishement Lead Time Error %
3. Min & Max Safety Stock Levels
4. Beta Service Level
5. Max. Stock Level
How are these Factors used ? What is the Formula using these Parameters to Calculate the Safety Stock ? The Calculation in SCM-APO is not clear from anywhere.
I am specifically interested in the Method "BS".
Can anyone Guide me ? Points Guaranteed if a reply covers the exact question above (I have done some research before raising this question on Forum).
Regards,
Ambrish Mathur
Harish,
I'd seen these forums already. Thanks for responding.
This 'secretive' calculation is quite annoying. If SAP does not Publish any documentation around the Formula, how can the Customer be convinced to use SAP's Safety Stock Calculations (no wonder many SAP Customers are going the 'ToolsGroup' way of Safety Stock Calculations).
On Safety Factor (I saw in your notes) I am aware that
a factor of 2.33 equates to 98.6% service Level from long back based on Normal Distribution. The Formula as known much earlier is this ...
SS = SafetyFact x SQRT (RepLeadTime) x StdDevDemand.
based on Normal Distribution.
However there are new Fields in APO since ...
Is there no documentation whatsoever on how the 2 Fields - 1. Forecast Error %
2. Replenishement Lead Time Error %
are used at all in the SS Calculation ?
Where do these New MasterData Parameters Plug-in ?
The other change now is in SS Planning, the SSs could be different for each Time Bucket in Future. How does Beta Service Level also impact the Calculation ?
Is there a URL / Book someone can point me to ?
Regards,
Ambrish

Need formula for drawing method
I need help figuring out a formula for a
dynamically-generated diagram. Of course the lines will be drawn
using the AS drawing API and I know I will need six coordinates
total (the start point, the moveTo point, the curveTo point, the
anchor point, and the end point) to draw the line.
The position of both start and end points will be dynamic.
Please see the diagram at the link for exactly what I need.

I don't really know where to begin. If there are any geometry
wizzes out there, your help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you in advance!here you go. you just need to add your curveTo, if you think
it's worthwhile.

Safety Stock Methods SB, SZ and SM - When to apply what method?
Dear Experts,
i have searched the threads for a good explanation of safety stock methods (especially for safety stock methods SZ, SB and SM). I have to admit that i did not fully understand how the SM method works exactly. It would be great if you could possibly share an easy-to-understand example. Furthermore i am looking for a way to determine for what rawmaterial_location combination we need to use what Safety Stock Method (SB, SZ, SM). Maybe you could share a few examples in terms of raw materials, characteristics for these raw materials, what method to choose and reasoning for choosing this method.
Thank you very much for your support in advance!
I am looking forward to your answers!
Best regards,
ChristianHi
Please refer OSS note 504253 . This will give you an idea about the safety stock methods. This note also has links to other notes that explain safety stock planning

Pls tell me the exact formula for calculation of Safty Stock with quality example
Pls tell me the exact formula for calculation of Safty Stock with quality example
Hi Devendra,
safety stock is a quantity of stock which should be planned to be in inventory to protect against fluctuations in demand or supply. Therefore it is considered in planning.
The Product Planning Details screen is mainly a planning screen, giving an overview on the planning situation for a product in a planning area. The projected stock reflects the planning behavior, displaying the shortages relevant for the planning run.
As the safety stock has to be always in stock, the projected stock takes it into account as an immediate demand. That is why it reduces the projected stock, for example, if the stock on-hand is 0, then the initial planning situation for the product with a safety stock shows a negative projected stock.
For more information please check the help document “Material Planning Settings “ under section safety stock which explain with pictorial rep.
hope it help you.

How to get what's app for Nokia C2-03.
There is no what's app for Nokia C2-03.
Is Nokia planning to develop it for this model?
I need it, so please let me know.hi mate,
totally wrong place to ask. has nothing to do with Nokia. it is up to the developer whether they develop the app for a particular platform or not. you will need to ask WhatsApp and enquire with them regarding availability of WhatsApp for your device. -
I feel like I should know the answer to this. I can't believe it is a hard question.
What is the direct connect method for transfering photos from my macbook pro to my iphone without using iTunes syncronization? (iow: a simple photo copy from mac to iphone?)
Easy? Right?
Just plug my iphone in to a mac and copy a photo from the mac to my iphone.
I don't have internet access - I can't email it, or mobileme it, or dropbox it.iTunes. Other than that there is no direct method. However, do try the iPhone forums.

Hi all
As per the statutory requirement we want to maintain Multilevel method of depreciation in which we have maintained two phases given as below-
Dep/int.
phase

decl. bal method

change over % rate

Z02

Because asset need to depreciate upto 70% of its net book value on the basis of SLM percentage base as per phase 1.
After that it must shift to phase 2 ,where depend upon remaining useful of that asset , balance value of asset need to be spread over.
But while testing in, it is not automatically shifted to phase 2 directly once asset reaches its 70% (ie.once condition given phase one get exhausted)
Then pls guide me what to do for automatically change over of PHASE from 1 to 2 ??
Thanks and regards
Manjusha G.Hi Manjusha,
To meet your requirement, you have to mention changeover in T code AFAMA-changeover method "2" and the changeover % 70 and in second line you can give phase 2 changeover within planned life and give your depreciation methods after changeover.
Refer the sample screenshot.
Hope it solves..

What is the Arguement for getFailureStepLog() Method?
I'm not that good with Java, so I'm not sure but oracle has a slew of information on different Java Methods for ODI and getting information from the Repository. But I don't see any information on what the Argument is for these methods.
For example, I can build a Refreshing Variable to get the Session Number:
SELECT <%=odiRef.getSession("SESS_NO")%> FROM DUAL
The Arguments for the odiRef.getSession() are listed in the KM Dev Guide.
However all the online oracle pages do not list the Arguments?? Like below:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/apirefs.1111/e17060/oracle/odi/domain/runtime/session/OdiSession.html#getFailureStepLog__Why do you think it needs an argument to return ?
Return the step log (OdiSessionStepLog) that caused the session's failure. If the session didn't failed, than method will always return null. However, it can be null even if session is failed (e.g. session failed at preparation time).
It takes session id automatically from failed step. -
XL reporter - What is the formula for Comparing difference between 2 dates
Hi,
I would like to create an Ageing report in XL reporter for SAP business one.
Columns include 30 days, 60 days 90 days etc.
What should be the formula for Column Selection for eg: 30 days?
The logic is total the value if Today Date - Posting Date <=30.
Appreciate any help.Hi Jim,
I have started XL reporter within SAP Business One.
On XL reporter menu, I go Help--> Help.
The standard Help screen opened.
I have typed in Period, Syntax Period, Date, DateAdd, but I don't seem to find the example you mentioned.
Could you please advise me what I have missed? -
What's the chain of methods called for painting components?
Hi, I'm trying to find out at what point components are painted within a container, as in what methods are being called for that component to be rendered to the graphics context.
I've tried watching for calls going to paint, paintAll and paintComponents, but if a component has been added to a container it seems that even if I override all of those methods of the container the components that have been added still get displayed.
So I suppose I have two questions:
* - What is the chain of methods called when a container is told to paint/repaint itself?
* - What are the purpose of paintAll & paintComponents, I can't find anything that actually uses these calls.
Thanks in advance,
LWell it seems that the paint method of the component is being called from sun.awt.RepaintArea.paint(...) which itself is being kicked off from handling an event that's been thrown.
That's clearer now....but has anyone seen when paintAll, paintComponents or the printXXX counterparts have actually been called by a part Sun's code? I can see how they (Sun) would advocate a practice lke this, but it would seem kinda lame for them to suggest it and then for them not to use it themselves.....that's why I think there's probably something in the JRE that does call these methods at sometime....can anyone cast some light on this? -
Hello. I ve got a question. I accidentally bought membership but it doesnt have Adobe Muse that I need. What should I do? Can I extend my membership for the right one, or should I first get the money back. What kind of membership do I need to have Adobe Muse software?

The drop down at individual plans does show that you may subscribe to only Muse
You probably need to cancel what you have... You need Adobe support to cancel a subscription

What Does the NS Stand For in Method
Hi. What does NS stand for in methods (or is it a function?) like NSArray, NSFetch, etc. Why is it in purple color?
Thank you.
Gbu.Many of the Cocoa frameworks are decended from NeXTSTEP (when Apple aquired NeXT), hence the prefix NS. Frequently when the documentation mentions a class, it is a link to the class reference.

What is the best iPhone 4/4s extended battery case? I've been reading reviews for a bunch of them, but they all seem to say the same thing.
Personally most of my co-workers are using the Mophie case. They are great quality but can be pretty pricey. All of my fellow co-workers have been using this case to help with the upsetting battery drain that comes with ios5. I have seen people drop the the iPhone with this case on and seems to be a good sturdy case with an extra 9 hour battery life. Anyway's here is their web site if you want to look into these cases further.
