I understand the use of Rows and columns in the BEX analyzer. But what is the use of Free characteristics ?

Hi,
Free characteristics can be used to drill down or drill across the report as required. They don't appear when the report is originally executed, but the user has the ability to use the free characteristics to slice and dice the data further.

Hi,
2004s BEX query designer has got new functionality to Bulit input ready query for used for Planning.
With Report Designer you can format your report output and print them.It is used for static report , where you can group by a particular charactersitic .Formate like header & footer can be included to reports.

Hi M.V,
Free chars are those chars that you can use to drill down your query as per your requirement at run time, i.e. once you have executed the query you can make your filter or drill down options more flexible by using the free chars.
Filter Area : Filter area is that area where you can specify the Variable's required for input, you can also restrict some charcteristic values directly as well.
For e.g -> for ur query requirement is to take date as input from user, so u will create a variable based on the calday info-object and place it in filter area.
Directly restricting characte.
Restricting country to 'India', now u will get the data onnly where the country is india.
Any restriction that u specify in filter area will globally effect your query. i.e. u will see only that data ouput which meets the specified restrictions
1ROWCOUNT : you get field 1rowcount when u create any DSO. By default system adds this field that contains value 1 for each row.

Enjoy posting is a feature to multiple documents / invoices.
When we create the first document, we enter posting date / currency / company code.
Later we enter amount and amount information / and save it, this would create a document number.
Now upon saving, the system will default all data for the next invoice entry and you have to just enter amount and account number.
This way, it assists the user to avoid entering routine data for multiple invoices.

Problem with the display sequence of free characteristics in Bex Analyzer

Hello,
I want to display free characteristics in particular sequence in Bex Analyzer.
I have arranged free characteristics in particular sequence in bex designer but while executing the report from analyzer
free characteristics are not getting displayed in the sequence in which i wanted to display it in query output.
Could you please let me know what setting needs to be done in order to display free characteristics in required sequence in bex analyzer.

Please observe that the sequence of Characteristics in BEx Analyzer is Alphabetic (in ascending order), I faced a similar situation once and I solved it by adding a prefix to the Characteristic Name at the query level, for example.
Customer
Distribution Channel
Division
Month
Sales Organization
Year
Could be sorted this way.
A01. Year
A02. Month
B01. Sales Organization
B02. Distribution Channel
B03. Division
C01. Customer

What is the difference between Bex transportation and Normal Transportation

Hi experts,
I have doubt with Transporting queries , in this I've used the normal transport (truck icon) rather than Bex Transport. I would like to know which is the preferable one and what is the main difference between them.
Suggest me if I can go for normal Transportation rather than Ibex transport, as I've not tried Bex transportation before.
Give me some valuable inputs please.......

Hi Kumar,
We have a Bex transport because we may make changes in the query very often and these changes will be automatically taken care by Bex transports.
Generally this is how it goes.
You will capture the queries by creating a transport request and immediately you will create a Bex transport request and you have to assign the previously created transport request number to this Bex transport request, so that everytime you make changes to the query will be taken care by the Bex transport.
You can even create a Bex transport request individually.
Hope this tip may be useful.

Can we should we upgrade our operating system from OSX 10.6.8; does it involve blanking the computer and installing a totally new system...or...does it override current system? Which one? Any free upgrades available or does one just buy whatever their hardware can handle? Novice questioner looking for merciful advice! iphoto is not working, you tube acts goofy when we go to it. The first step before even contemplating an OS X upgrade is to back up your existing system, which it sounds as though you accomplished. If in doubt read Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac - Apple Support.
Then, ensure all your essential software will be compatible with Yosemite. Any old, PowerPC-only programs will not work with any Mac operating system newer than what you have. You may need to upgrade existing software or purchase new versions. PowerPC Macs were discontinued a very long time ago.
Then, consider purchasing and installing additional memory. Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options. Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales. Installation is simple and OWC's website has instructional videos.
Finally, read https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/. It describes everything else. It's not necessary to erase or "blank" your existing system first, though some people find that advantageous since it obviates any concern regarding potentially incompatible software. That's the reason for Step 1 - it's the only practicable way to undo an OS X upgrade.

Free Charecterstics of Bex not replicating into Crystal Report

Hi Experts,
I am having a strange problem....or may b i am missing some basic here,
We are trying to build a Crystal Report on a Bex Query which consists of some Free Characteristics and a single object in the rows, where as in the columns we are having 2 structure on which consists of Selection Key Figures restricted based on Characteristic Variables with Processing type SAP Exit.
Now wen i am trying to build a Crystal Report on this Query directly from Blank Report Wizard, i am not getting the free characteristics and Row object into the report but i am able to get the Structure values as measures.
Wen i am trying to build the report directly from the SAP tab of Crystal Reports, i am able to c the Free Characteristics and Row Object but getting all the selection Based Key Figures in a single entity on the name of the structure. Due to this wen i am using this in Crystal Report all the Column values are embedded into a single column, which is not desirable.

That probably some sorts of promotion. That means a normal specs for THAT computer may be only 4Gb of RAM, now they upgrade to 8GB of RAM for free. They may do for a whole bunch of many computers.
What and where is it ?

ps. Actually NOTHING is free, they may pump the price up a bit then adding something for free OR any promotion you can think of, mainly to sell their goods quicker.

What Royalty Free Music is compatible with Windows 7 64bit

I just loaded CS4 on a Windows 7 64bit computer. I was using SonicFire 5 for my background music in Premiere CS4. Windows 7 has a limited list of software that's compatible and SonicFire Pro 5 is not on it. I would like to know what everyone is using for Royalty free music and Windows 64.

My guess is that if Sonicfire Pro 5 will not run on Win7-64, that Smartsound will soon have an update. It should run in auto 32-bit mode, but I do not know this for a fact. Have you tried Sonicfire Pro 5, on Win7-64, regardless of what the compatibility chart shows? What happened?
Also, Smartsound has a great customer/technical support program, and will be glad to help you. If there needs to be an update for Sonicfire Pro 5, they can tell you the status of that.
As far as the actual sound files, there should be no issue, as they are just media files, .WAV, or similar.

What about FREE CS2

I'm from Russia, and I'm really interesting in graphics at all. But to be honest it is to expensive for me. I only bought a PSE 10 and CorelDraw X6, but for some pdf files, I cann't open it in CDRx6, and if I can use AI cs2 for free to open this kind of files to get some images it will be so good!!! Can you explain, if I can buy any old version of cs AI or some thing like that. Or if any of you have this old version with license that I can get from you as a gift as to end user. PLEASE =)))
