Lattely the browser stack, does not respond, and / or freeze the computer for a few seconds, what is going on down there, you may check it out or many users will stop to use your browser?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

    What??? I've had this account for over 5 years, same user name, same password. I was able to log in, saw all info on my account, but when clicked on Upgrade Data plan, I was instructed to call the 800 number above. I had a chat session with the sales dept, they said they could not help me with this issue, since they're only trying to sell devices.
    Anybody have an idea what's going on? There's no other phone number to call Verizon.

  • Latest software update is causing the dock process to use an abnormally high amount of system resources- what's going on?

    After I installed the latest software update (updates that prepare some apps to run on OSX Lion), I'm noticing that the dock process is using 100% of my CPU when idle. This is causing my battery life to be 30 min at best. What's going on?

    There is a conflict with Parallels and the latest update that causes this.  Update Parallels to the latest version and it will fix this.

    There are a number of threads about this - it looks like Apple recently updated their address validation. Some people have recorded success by :
    ensuring that their iTunes account address is exactly the same as appears on their credit card bill
    putting something in the second line of the address (including just copying the first line)
    expanding abbreviations e.g. St to Street, Ave to Avenue etc (or conversely abbreviating)
    putting apartment or suite number on the second address line

    Make sure your Mac's software is up to date.
    Click your Apple menu  top right in your screen.
    From the drop down menu click Software Update.

Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases".     Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

    On belhalf of my fellow volunteers, the answer is, "We'll try our best." 
    My advice is to try not to treat this like it is a paid service provided by compensated professionals.  Ask nicely and one of the nice folks here might take some time out of their weekend to offer advice.

    When did you install?
    Spotlight will need to re-index the entire system so that can cause slow performance if you updated recently. It can take many hours on a large disk with a lot of data. Click the Spotlight menu, it should say if it is still indexing.
    There is no point trying to fix anything whilst this is ongoing, because it may just speed up when complete.
    Are you able to drag photos from email to the Desktop or to iPhoto's icon? How about the 'File menu > Save attachments' option?
    Please clarify what you have tried, otherwise we may waste time on the wrong thing.
    If the system is generally unstable there are other things to try too, such as safe boot.

    That will isolate all third party software, if the Mac is able to do the things that didn't work it suggests that you have software that is loading at startup or login. The easiest way for us to see these is if you download EtreCheck & generate a report.
    Post the report here & we can try pointing to items that you can either update or remove.

    Please help! I updated safari and yes it is an older desktop, but now all of the sudden tabs I have open will freeze on me. I can see what is going on, but am unable to type anywhere on the page! I have to shut down safari and then open up a whole new window to even attempt to get it to stop! It is driving me insane not to mention I need my desktop to work properly.     Which Mail icon? That in the Applications folder, that in the Dock, or some other? You do not have to quit your applications in order to shut down your computer (heck, you hardly ever need to shut down your computer).
