What is going on with itunes? I can't download podcasts via iphone 3G.

Same on my wife's 3GS. It works on my friends iPhone 4. It is the vast majority of podcasts on a 3G or 3GS. I can still download a tiny number of the ones I checked (Tech Center) but the biggies (TWIT, Tech News Today, Security Now, Tekzilla) just show the logo on either 3g or WiFi. This has been going on for almost a week. My 3G is on iOS 3.1.3 and my wife's 3GS is on 3.1.2. I have seen reports of others with the same issue on a 3G/3GS on iOS 4.3.3.

Does anyone knows what's going on with the videos in iTunes 7? I use iTunes for Windows (XP Pro SP2). In older versions I used the next sequence:
File>Add File to Library> I selected my file from my computer (music or video) and everything normal, then from iTunes to my iPod. But NOW! it just doesn't work!
It is supposed that the video file has been added to library but when I search for it. It doesn't exist!! Sorry to say but, great MAC! something so easy becomes a mess.
Any help or idea? I already looked for the video in the "Recent videos" and also tried the "solution" to play the video in Quick Time and then export it... The thing is that now Quick Time isn't running! Also a mess, I used not to have problems with the Quick Time, until the "great" new iTunes 7.

What is going on with my 2911? -File Download Troubles

Hi,
So we have a 40Mbs for downloads but for some reason all of our file downloads are stuck at ~300KB. They often time out. I know the uplink is not at capacity. We get the same numbers even off hours when capacity is 10% of our max. I'm monitoring traffic and system properties with Netflow & SNMP. Both show everything in the green. No dropped packets, no memory or CPU issues, conversations appear normal. It appears we are getting throttled but I can not figure out if it's us or them. I know we do not have any QoS policies in place.
Where should I go next to troubleshoot this? I'm stumped.

can someone please tell me what the error (-50) is when I try to download my music.

Here's an article that discusses one cause of such errors:
iTunes for Windows: An unknown error occured (-50) - There was an error in the Music Store
Though it refers specifically to McAfee's software, any privacy filter could cause a similar error. In addition, download accelerators can also cause errors when trying to connect to the iTunes Music Store, so if you have any such, disable it and try again.

I just got a new shuffle and when I plug it into my computer it tells me I need Itunes version 10. When I try to install Itunes version 10 it says 'Couldn't open "Install iTunes.pkg". This package type requires Mac OS X 10.5'. What do I need to do to get everything working?

Yeah, I just bought an iPod Shuffle and have run into this same issue. I don't want to upgrade to iTunes 10 because I did so on my work computer and am dealing with a headache of an issue with it (sort of off-topic, but it's doing that rapid flashing thing when loading in a CD, ultimately not recognizing it or letting me download the songs, unless I turn off the feature that downloads the song titles automatically, which is fairly important to me). I did some searching around here and found it's a common issue with no solution at the moment. I definitely don't want to deal with that on my personal computer, so I've stuck with iTunes 9. But now that means I can't use the Shuffle I just purchased. How frustrating. Any solution?

I can't access the iTunes Store to browse and purchase music, etc. I have an OS X 10.4.11 operating system and iTunes 8.0.2 on my computer. While I can download iTunes 10.3, I can't install it on my computer. I would prefer using my computer with its current software to access the iTunes Store. Is there a way that I can access the iTunes Store to purchase music, etc.?

While I don't know for sure, my guess is there is a version of iTunes that you computer CAN use and will work with iTunes.
you may try to manually download the latest version of iTunes 8, or an early version of iTunes 9. Should be on Apple's site somewhere.

Since dowloading latest version of Itunes, I can't sync podcasts to Iphone.

Music works fine but not podcasts. In the past I would have to disconnect then reconnect phone at least twice for a podcast to sync, but now this doesn't work.
I can't even find the tab that you check to download podcasts or music. There's a drop down menu at top left in Itunes with preferences in it but it's not there. I've also checked in the Files, Edit, View, Controls, Store & Help drop down menus but to no avail.

Hello remslicer, I just did this and it seems to work, I had the exact same problem and I just read what to do on another users reponce,
I re-set my phone
hooked up the phone to my computer,
let it do its syncing,
then I went to podcast page and un-sync and I did this with music as well, and hit apply.
go back and re-sync and hit apply again.
I went to the app and it started playing the podcast I have saved on my desk top.

I am. I have snow leopard and it keeps asking me for my mobile me password and sign in on my mac pro and macbook pro. Iphone mail works as does going in through the net and signing into the cloud there. but mail on my computer is not working. Is this a problem with the server or me. right after my drive completely died and is clicking on mac pro. Probably a coincidence but holy cow, talk about bad timing. I thought at first that my mac pro and mac book pro had a virus but the mac book pro is still up and running, just no mail!

I was able to download SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 few days ago. Today, it's gone, it was under technology components as a separate item but today there is only SOLMAN 7.0.
Also ECC6.0 does not exist in download area too. I'm sure it was there last week.. Today there is only ECC5.0 on NW2004.
Is there something wrong with service.sap.com/swdc ??

If Apple disabled Java 6 in 10.6, and you can't upgrade OS X to 10.8, then your pretty much done with Java in OS X because Oracle won't issue updates for Java 6 anymore.
However you can install Windows 7 and continue to use Java 7+ there until support for Windows 7 ends in 2020.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
If your on 10.6, I very highly recommend the free Virtualbox for the virtual machine software as it gets updates, VMFusion and Parallels have moved on with only 10.7+

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.

Beyond resetting what have you tried?
Common fixes can be to use a different USB port or different USB cable. You can also try updating iTunes, or uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Does your computer see it at all? Is there a little chirp when you plug it in?
