What is happening to my iPod?

I have a iPod Photo (with color display) 30GB and I am running Windows XP Pro
Well on the 26th of September I listened to my iPod and everything was great with my iPod (except for the hairline scratches on the screen) then on the 27th I fire iTunes on my computer and iTunes tells me that there is a new version of iTunes and a new iPod Updater and it asked me if I wanted to download the newest iTunes and iPod updater So I tell it to and it does and then I plugged(USB 1.1) my iPod in and iTunes says that I need to update my iPod firmware and so I run iPod updater and and click restore and it goes through its whole process and says I need to "reflash" my iPod by plugging it into the A/C adapter so I do and my iPod works fine for about a day...
On the 28th I get up and want to listen to some tunes so I get iPod (charged night before on A/C adapter) and when I reboot my iPod I get the "unhappy iPod"...
Did I do anything wrong?
I have only had this iPod for about 4 months and this is my first iPod
Could somebody please help me!

Regardless of whether or not it worked before, the iPod is still not compatible with the USB 1.1. If you've upgraded to iTunes 5 recently, it is much more picky about accepting the iPod than previous version of iTunes.
Also, try disabling any anti-virus software you might have on the computer before restarting.
I missed the part about the Sad iPod face - that's caused by one of two things. Either your harddrive is damaged, or the software on the iPod is mismatched. The former requires hardware repair, while the latter simply requires that you upgrade to iTunes 5.0.1 and iPod Updater 2005-9-23.
Also attempt to put the iPod into disk mode. Reset the iPod with the menu + center button, and then move your finger from the menu button to the play/pause (with center still held down) after you see the Apple logo. This is also a good way to get the iPod recognized by your computer.

No body knows about the next gen of any Apple products, other than they always advance. There are still many much older products in successful use so that should not be a problem. My iPad original cannot use iOS 6.1.3 but it still does what I want and works great.
If you have the 4th gen, use it aa long as it meets your needs. If it doesn't look at the options for a new one at that time.

Seriously, what do you mean "overflowed?" I suspect that you're talking about something that is simply not possible.

What has happened to my iPOD after the latest Apple update

Not sure if it is connected but my 80GByte iPOD was fine until i compelted the latest update to OSX on my MAC PRO, now I am having problems syncing the iPOD and all the artwork on the ipod does not display correctly for each track

An update on my problem
I have restored the iPOD to it's origianl settings I am still expierencing issues.
I normally set up the iPOD to sync only selected items, this works for a while then I will get an error message ....XYZ iPOD cannot be sync'd unknown error -48.......
After this error I notice that the parameters for sync have changed to Manually control sync ... and Disk mode is selected.
Not sure what is going on here but it looks depressingly bleak........

Question(s) about what could happen to my iPod Touch...

So I have just inherited my sister's launch iPod Touch, as she is receiving a gen 2 from her boyfriend in the very near future. I have a couple questions about what I need to do with it and the consequences of said actions:
1. How do I go about registering the Touch to my own Apple account? She has her own Apple/iTunes account (she also has a gen 2 Nano and a gen 2 Shuffle), and I want to be able to sync it with my own account. I realize that the songs and videos will be lost in the transition, but that's irrelevant to me.
2. Since this is a launch Touch, it came with ver. 1.0 OS software. Since then, she has paid for and installed ver. 2.2 (or whatever is latest prior to 3.0). In regards to my first question, will the Touch revert to ver. 1.0, and I will have to be forced to re-purchase the OS update in order to get the apps store, new features, etc?

"The iPod is synched with another iTunes account...what would you like to do?"
1. "Erase & Sync" replaces the contents of this iPod with the contents of this iTunes library (this worries me, since it doesn't specify what particular contents i.e. software updates).
2. "Transfer Purchases" copies iTunes Store purchases this computer is authorized to play from this iPod to this iTunes library (so, do I need my sister's ID and password to confirm I am able to use her bought data? If so, will this let me use all her apps, etc?)

What does "new actualization" mean?
Do you have Restrictions set that world prevent installing those apps? Settings>General>Restrictions

What happens when an iPod is synchronized with an iTunes library that is bigger than the available space on the iPod? I did this some time ago. On screen was shown available space somewhat less than 120 GB, but maybe somewhere between 10 and 20 GB more in the library. I had to get the iPod updated anyway, so I did proceed. However, afterwards the total content of the library was only about 110 GB. Now I wonder what did actually happen. Was the first sign only corrected for double copies of the same files or lost files or where files deleted from iTunes? And if files where deleted from iTunes, were they also deleted from my computer?

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

Thanks lllaass, but I am not computer literate and do not understand exactly what it is I am supposed to do. All of my photos were stored on Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery. When I now access the gallery the only thing that is there are the folders with the title of the folders. The pictures that were in those folders are now gone. I can no longer access them on my IPOD either. My photo library on my IPOD is now empty.

Is it neccessary to click on the eject button before disconnecting my ipod? What would happen if I forgot? Would I lose all my music?

Ejecting is so old school. I just unplug it like I have been doing for years. No problems yet. I figure that the hardware shouldn't be affected even if there is a little data loss and if it is, it's crap and I will take it back.
I think the ejecting legend has become a remnant from old-school mac days that hangs around to keep you from unplugging while syncing. Shouldn't be a problem....at least from what I have experienced on Windows. I am not sure if Macs still require that ejecting stuff on external media...
