What is hub deployment?

In the description of the functionality limitations for SRM as Add On for ECC 6.0 SAP talks about hub deployment.
+"The following deployment and migration constraints apply:
·         SRM as an add-on to mySAP ERP 2005 does not support hub deployment.
·         SAP ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on does not support any multiple backend functions for procurement.
·         It is not possible to upgrade or migrate from a separately-installed SRM system to SAP ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on."+
What is hub depoyment?
Is there anywhere a more detailed description of the constraints regarding SRM as Add On?
Rgds.

Hi
<b>Please read the details below -></b>
Hub Deployemnt is a part of SAP ICH.  It is part of the SCM Suite. One application for your requirement is SAP ICH (Inventory Collaboration Hub). Besides you can also work with a report giving the supplier an overview. Via SUS you will not get the Reqs. Modification of SUS is pretty difficult and often not worth the effort. ICH is the supplier collaboration element covering tigher collaboration processes, like forecasting, kanban, order management; it supports the production process, but for e.g. does not cover invoicing. it is different than SUS, which focus on small suppliers without any systems inhouse and only offers order managmt.
It depends on the environment, if you need SUS or / and ICH.
In longterm the SUS functionalities are planned to be integrated into ICH forming
a new product called Supply Network Collaboration offering all collaborative
processes.
- ICH is part of the SCM Suite as well found under Collaboratio Suite
- Installed on a separate Box; from SCM perspective it also makes sense to
separate APO and ICH; nevertheless SCM is a one client environment, like BW
- Documents are available via SCM and Solution Manager; search in the
Marketplace
The ICH Purchase Order process is also intended for small suppliers - this is not a difference between ICH and SUS.
But ICH is only intended for purchase orders with a material.
Therefore the scenario is a deciding factor.
For indirect materials you are probably doing some purchase orders without materials, and these purchase orders can not be handled within ICH.
If you have only purchase orders with material items ICH can definitely be considered - and it is the tool for the future.
A drawback of ICH is the master data complexity and this should be considered/evaluated before choosing ICH.

  • Fiori CRM apps with central hub deployment

    Hello Experts,
    We are looking to configure Fiori CRM apps in our landscape with central hub deployment option. Our CRM backend and frontend server (Gateway) are 2 separate systems.
    The CRM backend system (CRM 7.0 EHP3) is running NW 7.4 whereas the frontend server where we have installed the Gateway component is running NW 7.31. Can we go ahead and install the CRM UI components on our frontend server or is it mandatory that the frontend server also runs NW 7.4?

    Hi Masa,
    The link you mentioned gives details about the required SAP Gateway Components for NetWeaver 7.3 & 7.4, but does not mention anywhere whether the NetWeaver version of the backend business suite system should necessarily be NW7.4 if we have front-end system on NW7.4.
    I am looking to clarify the doubt regarding whether both front-end and back-end systems should be on the same NetWeaver release or it is fine to have front-end on 7.31 and back-end on 7.4

  • CAS&HUB Deployment options to 2 locations

    Hi and Thanks for the feedback in advance
    Environment: Exchange 2013 SP1, Windows 2012 R2
    I have two geographical locations, but a single AD Domain, e.g. mydomain.local.
    I want to deploy 2 CAS/HUB server 1 on each geographical location.
    On each site, I'll have dedicate Mailbox server with DAG(s)
    My objective is to minimize WAN utilization except in certain scenarios and to use a single name space, e.g. outlook.mydomain.local
    What is your recommendation? The only options I have found so far are either NLB in my case Windows NLB, which is based on round-robin or to use 2 name spaces outlook1.my.... and outlook2.my.....
    Round-Robin isn't my solution I have 200 users at 1 location and 50 at the 2 location. I want to streamline the environment for the users, thereby making this easier to me (the ultimate goal) :)

    Looks like due to tech issue Windows NLB cannot be implemented, both CAS need to be on the same IP Subnet

  • What device to deploy Unified Comunications?

    I want to deploy an Unified Comunication solution in my home. I´m a DSL user, and have a cisco 7921g ip wifi phone wich I want to register to the Unified Comunication Device. What Router could I choose? It would be enough a Cisco 1861 or a Cisco 2800 Series Integrated Services Router for example ? It should be independent from the outside ( I don´t have a Sip account suscription nor a Cisco Call Manager Server). It should be enough by itself so I can register the phone to it.
    Could anybody tell me what device or devices can achive this.
    I have already a modem router with wich I get the adsl conection, so it would no be necesary to have a DSL port, but it would be better for me with DSL port
    Thank you in advance

    What do you want to use the router for?
    Also remember to run NTP in your network otherwise you will not even be able to install CUCM.

    Mike,
    If you deploy your BC4J application module directly from JDeveloper, all the appropriate classes should be loaded for you.
    If you are loading everything yourself using loadjava, you will need the following:
    For running appmodule as CORBA objects
    jbomt.zip, jbodomorcl.zip, jboo8i.zip
    For running appmodule session beans
    jbomt.zip, jbodomorcl.zip, jboejb.jar
    For running container managed persistence
    jbomt.zip, jbodomorcl.zip, jbocmp.jar
    Use the following syntax:
    loadjava -u <user>/<passwd>@<host>:<port>:<sid> -thin -r -grant "PUBLIC,SYS" jbomt.jar jbodomorcl.zip other.jar
    In other words, load them all at once rather than one at a time.

  • General Understanding SRM as Add-On to ECC 6.0

    Since I checked in this forum there is no configuration guide for SRM as Add-On available I have some general problems. Does SRM Add-On as single client installation with ECC 6.0  require replication and download of data objects and do I have to maintain the middleware parameters? If it is like this I understand why tere is no specific configration guide for SRM as Add-On!
    In Detail:
    When I configure SRM as Add-On do I have to replicate objects like product, product category, customizing (UOM), vendor from the backend as in stand alone implementation?
    Do I also have to replicate organizational structure via report from the backend or can I use the organizational structure form the backend directly for the SRM?
    Do I have to download the locations from the backend?
    Rgds.
    Dieter

    Hi
    ECC 5.0 does not come with EBP or SRM. ECC 6.0 (ERP 2005) comes with SRM Server as an add-on. Only self service procurement and supplier enablement scenarios are supported. Not recommended for sourcing scenarios and multi-backend deployment options.

  • What are the different steps to follow in order to develop an application and deploy it into a PAC

    Hi,
    I developped a program on my computer but in order to deploy it in a PAC , I don't know what are the different steps to follow?
    What are the difference between a stand alone application and communication with server mode.
    Can the file which will be downloaded into the PAC be in a form othre than (.exe).
    what does the deployment licence consist of??? is it a software?
    if the file is .exe then how to maintain it?
    Thank you for all,
    Regards

    Hi!
       Since I'm familiar with FieldPoint PACs, I'll refer to that (but maybe it is similar for cRIO...).
       An embedded application (standalone), runs entirely and independently on the PAC, while if you're not doing this, you'll have your computer, with LabView, which is controlling the PAC.  In this mode, application is dowloaded in PAC's RAM, so when you reboot controller, application will be lost.  If you build an embedded application, you can provide for application to boot authomatically at boot, each time the PAC reboots.  These are some basic stuffs on embedded applications with LV.
        To deploy an application to a PAC, you need LabVIEW + Real-Time module. Without it, you can't build an embedded application on PACs.
        usually, the file dowloaded is an .exe, and some libraries.  What would you like to have, exactly? For example, I think you can buy a simple .exe, which is universal, which loads VIs dinamically, so you can download directly VIs, but I've never tried this way....
       Deployment license, I think, refer to PCs, id est, when you use a PC or PXI as embedded target, in PACs, you have it bundled (it seems to me) whit the PAC you buy, so you don't have to buy an extra license for every PAC you ship with your application.  Otherwise, if you develop a Real-Time application for a PC, you will ship PC + OS licensed + Real-Time extension licensed, but this is not your case, since you'll use PACs.
       The maintain problem... I've already faced with! Simply, for my needs it was enough to make an application which loads configuration files, depending on different task the controller has to do. If you have to dowload a completely new version of VI.... it's better to deploy new application from LV.  But maybe you can bypass this problem with dinamic VIs loading...
        Let me know if this help.... Have a nice day!

  • What are the adv and disadv of using SRM as an addon?

    Hi Friends
    what are the adv and disadv of using SRM as an addon
    Regards
    Simha

    Hi Simha,
    Here are my view points on SRM and ECC one client deployment: The decison to have one client for SRM and ECC is more driven by the business model of the client and functionalities one need out of SRM .Following points needs to considered before deployment:
    1) ERP and SRM as an add-on does not support any multiple-backend functions or hub deployment for procurement.
    2) Upgrade or migration from SRM system to ERP with SRM as add-on is not supported
    3) Strategic sourcing scenarios in SRM are not used by clients with such deployments
    4) Although SRM is running on the same client as ECC the purchasing organization have to be maintained in both MM and SRM system
    5) From HR Orgstructure stand point there is no additional benifit in same client deployment as compared to seperate deployment
    6) From Security stand point its better to have a seperate client for SRM-vendor registration as this functionality is exposed to outside world and internet.
    7) Master Data Synchronization is a positive point which is only available within the SRM Add-on deployment with ECC
    8) For SRM and ECC (seperate) master data management remains asynchronous and unidirectional
    Thanks,

  • Fiori gateway deployment for SRM

    Hi
    Been trying to figure out how the gateway deployment for the SRM fiori apps should be.
    All through the SAP help for Fiori I see that the SAP recommended method is a Central Deployment. And some other SAP docs say that the deployment is SRM independent
    But I also see that for the SRM UI addon is a prereq for SRM Fiori and that the UI addon needs a local deployment of the gateway.
    So does that mean for SRM Fiori we would need a local gateway instance.
    So if I were to use ECC and SRM Fiori I would need two separate Gateway instances?
    Can some one advice?
    Thanks
    Vishakh

    Hi Masa
    Thank you for your response
    Understood. But SRMNXP is a prereq for SRM Fiori. And SRMNXP needs a local deployement. And Fiori reuses these gateway services.
    So indirectly, logic would mean that I use the local deployment for the Fiori as well.
    So the the choice between local and hub doesn't really hold good for SRM right?
    If I were to say already have a hub deployment for ECC. And i need to start using the SRM Fiori apps.
    a. Is there any way I can reuse the central deployment for the gateway or in other words what would be the best way or only way forward
    b. If i were to have say only Approve shopping carts, i assume SRMNXP is not a pre req and hence I can use the central gateway and install the front end components on it?
    c. If i were to use the other two apps I would need to have SRMNXP. In this case would I install the UI components locally or the central hub?
    Hope the questions make sense. I cant really get around the fact that even though SRMNXP is mandatory for two of the apps and the SAP Help on Fiori says so.. there is no tip on how to handle a situation where someone would deploy both the ECC and SRM Fiori and how the gateway deployment would be then. Does it then make sense that you have a central hub solely for the ECC apps (unless we are using some other suite component that doesn't have a prereq like SRMNXP for SRM) ?
    Thank you for the patient reading.

    Hi
    I have a pc and a laptop connected wirelessly to homehub 3. connection is fine having swapped the hub for a new one.

    On the pc it works fine. It's no biggy as I can acess settings on the pc but anyone know why it is happening?
    This is the screen I get. Different to the usual one.
    To prevent unauthorised access, your BT Home Hub's settings are protected by a password. To change the settings in your BT Hub Manager, you'll need to enter your admin password, then click the 'OK' button on this page. Please remember the password is case sensitive.

    Swapped from a what version hub? It does sound like you may of been using a v1 or v1.5 hub prior to using the hub3
    What happens if you go to saved passwords on your laptop, locate the 'admin' one, make a note of it just in case and delete it. Does this allow you to access the hub manager now?

  • Deployment Tool, Different Config Files, Same Results

    I should mention that I'm generating App-V 5 packages for Office 2013. Maybe this question belongs in the App-V forums.
    I can't seem to create a configuration file for the Office Deployment Tool that does what I want. This configuration:
    <Configuration>
    <Add SourcePath="D:\Something\Something\Source\Full Suite" OfficeClientEdition="32">
    <Product ID="ProPlusVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    <Product ID="VisioProVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    <Product ID="ProjectProVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    </Add>
    </Configuration>
    generates an App-V package with the "basic" Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.), along with Visio and Project. That part is fine.
    If I remove the Product elements for Project and Visio, I expect that a "basic" Office package will be created. However, Visio and Project are still in the package, and they are indeed usable. We have limited licenses for Project and Visio, so
    I would like them not to be deployed to every machine.
    I have tried giving the two configuration files their own source folders, that is, running the download command once for each configuration file and telling it to download to two different folders... same results.
    This is similar to John Marcum's follow-up question at
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c9462446-7744-4e3e-8c25-dbcd185a17e4/creating-lync-and-onenote-appv-packages?forum=officesetupdeploy

    Kazzan's reply technically does work, and it is a viable option. However, that reply led me to wonder what the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is doing to a machine that makes generating different packages difficult or impossible.
    I found that the ODT leaves files behind in the current user's Temp directory, after the package generation is finished. At least one of these folders (named Microsoft Office 15) contains the file system contents of the App-V package. So, I decided
    to clear the Temp directory in between runs of the Office Deployment Tool. Simply clearing this directory was not enough to solve the problem, but I'm still doing it as part of the build process.
    Running Process Monitor showed me activity in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun. Deleting this entire key does not appear to be necessary, and I'm not sure what that would do if you actually used Office Click-To-Run on the same machine on which
    you're running ODT.  So, I deleted just these keys:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\Configuration
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\ProductReleaseIDs
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\Scenario\APPVPACKAGE
    Deleting those keys, along with the Temp directory cleanup, is sufficient to let me build multiple Office 2013 App-V 5 packages on the same computer.

    I developed my simple calculator app under NWDS, exported it as an EAR file, transferred the file from my laptop to my Unix Java host and deployed it using SDM.
    When I build an iView I can't find it.  It doesn't appear as an iView template (unlike a PAR file I deployed earlier) and if I follow the help in the link from the previous post then I get application exceptions indicating that the portal component is not valid.  (I still have to trawl the log for details of the full error text.)
    I don't understand the process behind the deployment.  I know that the EAR file is a compressed archive of components required to run the application but what does the deployment process do with this?  Where are the components stored?  How does the portal's iView builder decide that it's looking in the right or wrong place?  How does the portal (how do I) know what sort of iView to build and what object type to include?
