What is interlacing in a PNG version?
When I try to save a PNG version, it comes with a question whther to choose interlacing. What is interlacing?
If you can remember back to dialup days, you may remember how some images on the web used to load as a bunch of lines that filled in more and more until the whole image was loaded. That's interlacing.
In those days it was good because it let you know that something was happening instead of just showing you a blank space till the image appeared. Then for a while it didn't matter, but nowadays there are beginning to be reasons you might choose it again.

Is it possible to have PDF and PNG versions of 'same' folio
Is it possible when copying over the articles to have one folio as PDF and another as PNG?
Tried doing this by setting up an alternative folio as PNG and copying across the articles that were created for the original PDF folio, but they still appear to be PDF when loaded into the new folio and previewed on tablet, even though it has been set to PNG.
Do they only get converted to PNG when published? shouldn't one be seeing thumbnails in the DPS Folio Producer: Editor browser window. Trying to preserve the meta data tags between folios, or do I have to re-export these files and re-input the tags and attributes manually.
I see there is a way of copying articles between folios at an admin level, would this result in a correct transposition of PDF to PNG?We use the K4 publishing system, and haven't started using their plugin yet, as we are still 'kicking the tires'. That said PDF and Android don't play together so well, hence looking at a PNG version without having to re-enter all the metadata again, which is what happens with the method you describe above.
The trouble is that the meta data is not part of the Indesign document so we have to re-enter it all plus there is the open/checkout/checkin/close of all documents from K4 which is a royal PIA, so uploading the same indesign documents isn't really helping. If the sidecar file worked 'properly' then perhaps that might be a solution, hear its not quite there though?
So, copying the article across to a new folio looked like it might work but not sure why when it asks when setting up the folio, whether you want PDF or PNG specs those do not stay set or why they are ignored on copying to the new supposed PNG rendition.
Would the K4 plugin solve this? would it work for all formats if we are building an Ipad and iPhone and Android version of a folio from the same document sourced in K4. -

10g, 9i or 9.0.4 ??There is a "latest' version of 6i and 9i and 10g. Each of these uses a similar underlying repository. Each is connected to a Designer that generates a specific release of Developer (6i gens Forms 6i, 9i gens Forms 9i, etc).
About now, the latest 10g is 9.0.4.5, while the latest 9i is 9.0.2.9, and the latest 6i is 4.11. -

Could be several things. Bad path, bad version, etc. give us details on your client install. What Oracle client do you have installed. App Designer is 32 bit. If you installed the 64 bit client you might get this error. What OS are you using. PeopleTools version? guessing 8.51 from your other post.

JiPad apps are designed specifically for the iPad and will not run on the iPhone or iPod Touch. iPhone/iPod apps will run on the iPad, but will only take up an iPhone sized portion of the iPad screen (though you get a 2x button which effectively doubles each pixel in both directions so may appear pixelated). There are also 'universal' apps (which have a '+' symbol against them in the store) which have processing in them to recognise the device that they are on and will tailor the display accordingly (so will make use of the iPad's larger screen).

Depends -what other clues? What recently changed? Do you have a good current backup? best guess is to Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - and repair the database - if that does not resolve things rebuild your iPhoto library database
