What is ivcc.site in Finder, Network?

re: OS X 10.6 on Intel iMac
In Finder, my-user-name,Network there is a network icon with the name of "ivcc.site" There is nothing under it. As "kind" it says "neighborhood." I Googled and asked the Mac-L folks, but no one seems to have an idea. Does anyone know what this might be? Could it be spyware?
I have a new Time Cap with this and another machine connected via Ethernet cable. I have an iPhone and iPad connected via wireless.

I have no connection to Illinois Valley C.C. I live in California.
Mac-L is a Macintosh listserv with lots of Mac experts who answer questions.
I did the default install on the TimeCap (just bought it last week). I used WPA2- personal security as "instructed" in the TimeCap set-up.
I use the TC as both wired and wireless.
I have ATT DSL.
My devices have 192.168.0.x IPs.
I have the Actiontec modem doing the DHCP, DNS, and PPPoE. The TimeCap is in "bridge mode." That is how I was told to set it up. Modem is brand new along with Time Cap. (My old Speedstream 5100 was 9 years old and I will keep it as a backup, along with my old Linksys router... both packed away in the closet now.)
For the life of me I can't figure what the ivcc.sites network icon is all about.

What type network is yu router set up for? The 4G iPod can only connect and see 2.4 GHZ networl like B, G and the 2,4 GHz N. There is also a 5 GHz N but the iPod will not even seethat network.

HP Deskjet 3050a cannot find network printer

I need to find out what my IP address is for my printer. I may have changed it accidently when I was trying to set up my printer to a new router. I have reset the default settings. I have tried to go to HP file where it says I can change my IP address and I get the error "cannot find network printer". I have done all of the obvious deinstall, reinstall, added MAC address to router. Nothing will recognize my printer. Please help. Thank you

OK, thanks for the updated information. Try these steps...
Changing wireless settings
If you decide to change the wireless network settings for your wireless home network, you will need to configure your wireless printer with the new settings.
To configure the new wireless settings on a printer that features a Wireless Setup Wizard:
From the printer’s control panel, open the Wireless Settings menu. Many products provide access to the Wireless Settings by pressing the Wireless Button or touching the Wireless icon on the printer’s control panel. Consult the printer’s help documentation if you do not know how to access the Wireless Settings menu.
From the Wireless Settings menu select Wireless Setup Wizard. The Wireless Setup Wizard will guide you through the process of configuring your printer with the new wireless settings. Input your Wireless Network Name and Wireless Password when prompted.
You can print a Wireless Network Test report from the Wireless settings menu to confirm the printer was successfully connected to your network.
To configure your wireless settings on a printer that does not feature a Wireless Setup Wizard:
First, make sure your computer is connected to your network. You will also need a USB cable, which is temporarily used during the configuration. Be sure NOT to connect the USB cable between the computer and printer until instructed to do so by the software.
If your HP printer software is already installed on your computer Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Use Start -> Programs -> HP -> <your printer model> -> Printer Setup & Software. Windows 8:
Launch the Printer Software from the Start screen (icon for the printer model name) or from the tile named for your printer.

Can I delete items under Finder Network?

I am the only one use this G4PB at home. I found there is a suspicious item in my Finder> Network. (Actually, I am not sure though what items should be there by default. But I am afraid if there is an item suspicious... someone could share my files...)
I tried to an item to delete from Finder>Network, it says I don't have a sufficient privilegies to delete... even though my Account admin page says I can administer this computer. Thanks in advance if you give me any suggestions regarding this matter!

Have you ever been connected to some server that might have been called that? It sounds like something left over from some previous activity. It is definitely not a normal part of the system. You might try going to the Finder's Go menu, select "Connect to Server" and then click the ittle bitty triangle of the clock icon to see a list of servers you've connected to lately. If it is there then you have connected to it at some point, although why the alias is persisting I don't know. You might try visiting the Network section of Discussions:

Could not find network adapter needed for registration

Cisco IP Communicator has worked well for a month now. One morning I go to launch the app and I get the error message: Could not find network adapter needed for registration. I rebooted my pc and I got the same result. I reinstalled the app and got the same results. I don't know what if anything changed, but I know I can't even get the application to load to look at any settings. PLEASE HELP!!!

Both devices have to be connected to either WiFi or Cellular and have location services enabled. Find My iPhone does not require that you be close to the phone you're trying to find. If it's connected to a network thousands of miles away, it should still work.

The path C:\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\apple software update\bonjour64.msi cannot be found. verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product bonjour.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I dont know the opperating system but I only got it recently...

Without Find My iPad having been enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it - and that would only work if it's connected to a network and hasn't been wiped or had Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also contact your carrier and change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Retrieving the Cell Site Id, Mobile Network Code, Mobile Country Code

I am using CLLocationManager to retrieve the latitude/longitude of a place.Its working fine.I can also find the distance travelled between the old location and the new location.
But I need to get the information about the Cell Site Id, Mobile Network Code, and Mobile Country Code .
Is there any API in the SDK to retrieve them ?or any other work around that will fetch these values?

Forget hotel technical support. All they'll do is refer you to a toll free number to the other side of the globe where somebody will tell you to click a Start button, or something. It's an utter waste of time.
What you describe is a "captive network" and yes, the need to authenticate each and every time you shut down your Mac or let it sleep is a common annoyance. The IT idiots that sold the Internet package to the hotel chain is long gone. Complain to whomever you can find, and perhaps one day they'll address their own incompetence. Until then keep your Mac connected, don't shut it down or let it sleep. Even then you may find yourself logged out from time to time, which you might not even become aware of until web pages stop loading. You can do nothing to fix it, other than to refuse to frequent that hotel chain. Be sure to tell them why.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Look where you think you left it. Report the loss to the police. The Find My iPhone thing only works if you activated it before losing it, and even then only under specific conditions.

Tell me about your network - what router? What kind of encryption (WEP, WPA, etc)? Is the printer near the router?
