What is java? Why won't it let me upload video to Myspace? Who can I ask?

I have a Mac PowerBook G4 running OS X 10.3.9.
I ought to be able to upload mp4 files to my Myspace, but something called an applet won't load. I download something called Java again and again, then I download upgrades to it, but nothing works. Sometimes I'm instructed to download a Java for 10.4 which obviously won't run on my computer.
As a lifelong Mac user I'm obviously not used to these levels of counter-intuitiveness and user unfriendliness. I'm sorry. I don't know where I am now. I don't even know what Sun is. But some kind person out there might take pity?

Why Won't ICloud let me upload ANY files to Iwork section?

Ok so like many others, When I try to upload a file to Icloud (A pages File) I ALWAYS get an error "There was a problem uploading a doument. Please try again." No matter how many times I try, I get this error. What also ***** is it won't give me the cog in the upper right hand corner with the options to upload. My only choice is to drag and drop, which gives me the error. I have it on my mac, but the one that doesn't let me setup icloud on it. So basically I need to enable the icloud on a computer or device that has pages, then it will let me upload pages anywhere? (thats kind of bull but I guess if it works). The only problem is my mac that is 10.7.5 is a laptop I'm provided with and for some reason the administrators decided to block the use of Icloud on it (The system prefrences not the website). So I guess until I can get my account on a device with Pages or something, Im out of luck. Thanks for you help. It used to be fine till it updated and now it won't do it, just says sending request and then never does anything. Trying to upload a csv file.

I recently deleted my iChat account and I do not want to use Bonjour List. I am on the administer account and there are no other accounts created on my computer. Parental controls are also not on. Why won'y iChat let me add a new account, I am trying to add my AIM account. If you could please help me.

I hit ok, and then another message comes up to go online and verify payment information. I have done that, all info is correct. Why won't it let me purchase? This has been going on for days.

I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine

Why won't it let me add my own music to playlists?

I was wanting to hear I Need You To Love Me by BarlowGirl (the real version, not the acoustic version Spotify has), and I started a new playlist to add a bunch of songs I have on my computer including that one. There were 20 songs I was trying to move into the playlist, and only two songs (Lost In Love by Air Supply and Love Me Tomorrow by Chicago) transferred. No matter what I do, it won't let me put those other 18 songs into the Spotify playlist. Also, I can't find most of my own music in the "Local Files" tab. I understand that not all the music in the world will be on Spotify, and I understand why The Beatles and others aren't on there, but why can't I make a Beatles "LOVE" playlist by dragging the album into Spotify? I am a Premium user, so I don't understand why I can't add whatever song I want to my own playlists.

Seriously Spotify team, PLEASE get on this issue! It's been like this for a majority of 2015 so far and no changes. I have to downgrade to an earlier version of Spotify to be able to create new playlists of local files that I've bought offline that Spotify doesn't have. I think Spotify has been upgraded numerous times since this issue came to light and it STILL hasn't been fixed; every time there's an upgrade, instead of enjoying new features I have to curse and swear under my breath as I re-downgrade my spotify to be able to do this one very important thing (create local file playlists.)
This is a huge problem and should have been addressed immediately instead of just ignored for so long. PLEASE lets fix this issue so your users can actually USE your latest software!

You can try to make a new account on iTunes Store if you didnt have yet.
I had the same problem with iTunes Store, the only thing you can do is to put some money on that credit card you are using with you account. iTunes Store already keeping some money for the last purchase you made you can see all info on the Account option and then Purchase history ...

I want to gift a couple songs to my boyfriend, but when i try to gift the songs it asks for my credit card information. i have over $100 in itunes store credit from gift cards. i want to use that money to purchase the songs i will be gifting. why won't itunes allow that? i looked up tutorials and gifting should be easy and all you submit is the other person's email but thats not happening for me.

Why won't you let PC users view HDV?

I'm a film student in New York who can't afford to buy a Macbook Pro when I've had the same PC laptop for so many years. I've been given an assignment that requires me to shoot on HDV, and I spent the time and money on HDV tapes and filming this shoot using HD cameras. Our lab (with very strict openings with only 2 HDV decks) uses Final Cut Pro - so I spent my time logging and capturing about 8 tapes of footage.
So I went home and went through the trouble of getting the Mac data system to communicate with my PC data system so my hard drive would even let me see that I HAD the footage - now that I finally do, I see that only my DV footage works! (one tape)
Now, I know you'll tell me to export it in H.264, but I simply do not have the time now nor would I have had the time to do so in the short hours of lab availability - not to mention it's something I wouldn't (and didn't) think of since captured DV footage works with no problem!
This is a widespread problem - not all people don't have the luxury of Final Cut Pro and a Macbook Pro. Why can't I edit the footage I shot?
So I ask:
PLEASE MAKE THIS CODEC AVAILABLE (FOR PURCHASE, IF YOU'RE SO INCLINED)

NoveltyMC, try not to get too upset with Kirk. He knows more about QuickTime than probably the rest of us in this forum put together, but I'm pretty sure he's not a video production guy, and he probably misunderstood what you're really doing...
Again, the real question is, what codec is it?
Experimentally, have you tried downloading VLC (http://www.videolan.org) on the Windows side to see if it can handle the HDV material? Internally, HDV is, if I remember correctly, MPEG-2 based, so an MPEG-2 codec ought to be able to handle it, provided that Final Cut did not transcode the file into ProRes or Intermediate.
If you open the file using QuickTime, and do a Get Info on it, what is the listed codec? Is it listed as HDV, or as Intermediate or ProRes?
If VLC can handle the files, then I expect it might be as simple as installing the MPEG-2 component for QuickTime, but I hate to recommend that without knowing for certain that it will actually work.

I am using a iPad Mini and Safari only lists three options for a default search engine (google, bing, yahoo), all of which lack privacy. I would like to set my default to duckduckgo and would prefer not to modify my iPad illegally or use secondary apps (duckduckgo app). Why won't Apple just let me modify my default search engine manually? I quite enjoy Safari and don't like wasting space with other browsers on my iPad.

Why won't it let me play some songs but it still shows them in gray?

I recently suscribed to iTunes match and it seemed like everything worked fine, but under my songs, they are all listed and some are in gray and won't let me click on them. How can I fix this?

The most common cause of this is that the intial scan, match and upload process has not completeled in iTunes and the songs are still in a "waiting" status. Are you certain that process has completed? To see the status of the songs in iTunes pull down View > View Options, select "iCloud Status" and click OK. This will add the iCloud Status column to the iTunes browser (you may need to view the songs in list view to see it). Now you can sort on this column and see what the status of all the tracks are.
