What is jewab (Unix Group\jewab)?

I had some weird problems yesterday, so I thought I should poke around to see whether someone had hacked into my system. When I looked at the Security tab of the Properties for my Western Digital MyBook, which is connected directly to my Airport Extreme, I saw that one of the "Group or user names" is "jewab (Unix Group\jewab)." A Google search found various references to this entry, which did not seem to say it is a problem, and seemed to say it is somehow standard for the WD MyBook. However, I found no information on it at the WD web site.
Anyone know what or who "jewab (Unix Group\jewab)" is and whether I should worry about it?

Hi Rob,
I have solevd my issue and I did not need to destroy / re-create the Open Directory. See my post here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5785838 for all the gory details. The long and the short of it was that my problems all came from a point in the past when I changed the hostname of my server after I had created the Open Directory master. Seems like that is a very bad idea! Based on what I found it seems liek any small flaw in DNS forward and reverse name resolution can also cause similar issues. I don't knwo if either of thsoe may apply to your situation?
As part of troubleshooting my issue I actually created a 'replica' of my server setup on another machine includingthe OD and associated users and groups. What I found was that many services (certainly mail, calendar and contacts) depend completely on the OD users and groups UUIDS. So if you wish to preserve user's data across an OD destroy and re-create it is vital that you carefully note for each group its Unix GID and its OD UUID and for each user their Unix uid, primary group id and UUID. When you are re-creating your OD master, as you create each group, use Directory editor to change its UUID to the original value. Similarly for Users. If you don't then users will no longer have access to any existign Mail, Contacts or Calendar data afterwards!
HTH,
Chris

    Hi there,
How do I create Required UNIX Groups in my Mac OS X version 10.3.9 ?
During my Oracle 10g client installation, the doc. reads, "Start Workgroup Manager (/Applications/Server/Workgroup". But I don't see this server directory in my system.

  • What is the Authorization group in Cash Journal View Maintenance (FBCJC0)

Question 1: In Cash Journal View Maintenance (Tcode: FBCJC0), what is the Authorization group?
Question 2: How / Where can I define this Authorization group?
As per the F1 Help  document in SAP :
The authorization group enables you protect access to certain objects.
In order to carry out a specific activity, the user must have authorization for the combination of the activity and the authorization group.

    Hi,
Authorisation in Cash journal is meant for controlling of FBCJ transaction with an user ID.
For example, if you have a multiple cash book (Cash journal) or you are maintaining a cash book according to Business Area wise, Plant wise, etc.,
In this case, you don't want to allow the other people to view / transact your cash book, then you can assign some unique identification in the authorisation group column against the each of your cash journal.
These unique identification can be of any thing eg. 1001, 1002, 1ABC, ABC, etc.,  After this, the indentification has to be assigned in the respective user profiles in the below mentiond objects,
    F_BKPF_BED
    F_BKPF_BEK
    F_BKPF_BES
    F_BKPF_BLA
    F_FBCJ
    Hope it helps

  • WHAT is "Hibernate this Group" and why can't I find ANY information on this and HOW to get accidentally hibernated groups BACK???

This is REALLY getting me frustrated! What is "Hibernate this Group"? Why can't I find any information on it? Why can't I get groups back that have been accidentally "hibernated"? There is a "moon" symbol on my upper right screen that says "Hibernate this Group" and I don't know what it does or how it works! AND I accidentally "hibernated" a group when I clicked on it too long and a bunch of "zzz's" showed up and then it was GONE! How do I get it all back? And why isn't there a tech center I can contact to help with this???

This sounds like some third-party app or extension, because this functionality is not in Firefox by default. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] should remove it

  • How do I find out what version of unix my Mac is running?

Somebody wants to know what version of unix (BSD? Free BSD? whatever? and version number and release date) runs on Mac computers in Terminal under OS 10.6.x. Does anyone know what it is off the top of their heads? Is there a Terminal command that I can type to ascertain this information?
    Thanx

To the best of my knowledge, Mac OS X did not take anything from OSF/1 except maybe ideas.
What they did do, was take the Mach micro-kernel from Carnegie Mellon and the FreeBSD sources to create something that has similar components to OSF/1.  Apple even used newer Mach version than any of the official OSF/1 vendors (such as Digital Equipment Corporation's OSF/1 (aka Digital UNIX, aka Tru64 UNIX which I did kernel development work on while a DEC/Compaq/HP employee)).
Then again, I wasn't there when NeXT was started, so I could be wrong.  I just do not remember NeXT being part of the OSF/1 consortium.

  • What could mean "server group"

What could mean server group. I have to specify when running a program in background(probably this is not a group in "smlg"as this partains to dialog processing

I think you're refering to SAP RFC server group
Similar to load distribution of user logins with logon groups, there is a mechanism for load distribution of RFCs
This is needed to achieve parallelization to achieve higher performance
To avoid overloading a dialog instance with too many simultaneous RFCs, it uses the resources of all existing dialog instances optimally. Hence you refine RFC server groups.
Use RZ12 to maintain RFC groups.
Create a group & assign single/multiple instances to this group

  • What is the failure group in ASM  and the meaning of ASM assigns each disk

    Hi
    Please help me in understanding
what is the failure group in ASM and the meaning of "ASM assigns each disk to it's own failure group, by default"

As you may have known ASM uses mirroring and striping of files. Mirroring is storing same compies/parts of files in different disks/controllers. When creating disk group which could consist of several disks, you have to assign disks at least to separate failure groups for normal redundancy , or three failure groups for High redundancy. This means that ASM will never assign mirrode copies/pieces of files to the same failure group. So, assigning disks to different failure groups you make sure mirrored copies are not on the same physical storage. Saying with other words, failure group gives your more abstract meaning based on which you can organize your physical disks contained in disk group.
That is why for normal redundancy at least two failure groups are needed, because there are one mirrored copy of each extent(allocation unit, to be exact) and for high redundancy the requirement is at least 3 failure groups, because each allocation unit has 2 mirrored copies, which should be on different failure group, consequently.
    Hope, this explanation is helpful.

  • What is Consumer resource group ,ORacle services?

    Thanks,

    Hi Mohamed,
    To answer your questions:
Q: What is parent resouce ID?
ANS: In your data, you may have some tasks that are associated with another task i.e. child tasks of a parent task. That association would need to be held in a column of your database table, for example PARENT_ID. The value held in the PARENT_ID column would be the ID of the parent task that the current task is associated with. For example, on this page - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:86 - you can see that the 2nd task, "Update Application Wizard", is a child of the parent node "Charts Integration", and that association is based upon the value stored in the PARENT_ID column of my sample table.
Q: Is it also mandatory? Can I create a gantt chart without it?
ANS: No, it is not mandatory. However, the syntax of the query must include PARENT_ID, which you can of course set to NULL, as you can see in the following example:
    SELECT NULL LINK,
           RESOURCE_ID ID,
           TASK_NAME NAME,
           NULL PARENT_ID,
           START_DATE ACTUAL_START,
           END_DATE ACTUAL_END
FROM   TASKS Below is another sample query, where you can see the PARENT_ID is being set. In this case, we want to represent a hierarchical task list
    SELECT 'f?p=4000:2:'||:APP_SESSION||':::P2_ID:'||ID LINK
           RESOURCE_ID ID,
           RESOURCE_NAME NAME,
           PARENT_ID PARENT_ID,
           START_DATE ACTUAL_START,
           END_DATE ACTUAL_END
FROM   TASKSI hope this helps to clarify things.

  • What is Buisness partner group hierarchy in sap crm

    Hi,
what is Buisness partner group hierarchy, what is the importence of this in sap crm
i wanted to know the detailed documentation for Buisness partner group hierarchy
    Thanks&Regards
    kishore kumar

    hi there
what you are saying as Business Partner Group hierarchy is actually the account hierarchy inside the BP which can be created using the Bp groups
here it is what it is and why its important
    Account Hierarchies
    Use
The account hierarchy allows you to map complex organizational structures of a business partner (for example, buying group, co-operative or chain of retail outlets).
When you create a hierarchy structure, you form groups of business partners (for example, for purchasing groups). You can use them for statistical purposes and for marketing analyses.
You can use the hierarchy for pricing. Pricing is carried out using conditions such as pricing arrangements that are stored at a higher level of an organizational structure and can be transferred to the lower levels.
    Integration
You can transfer a customer hierarchy from SAP ECC to the account hierarchy in SAP CRM.
For more information, see Replicating ERP Customer Hierarchies to SAP CRM.
You can also exchange the account hierarchy with CRM Mobile Client.
    Features
With the help of business partner groups, you can create hierarchy nodes in order to construct a hierarchy structure. For this purpose, the type of hierarchy is first determined based on the hierarchy category.
Hierarchy structures that are created in CRM Enterprise are sales area-independent.
The condition maintenance for pricing is integrated in the account hierarchy maintenance function.

  • What is the lpadmin group?

After a new harddrive installation last week, I migrated my account back onto the system from a Time Machine backup. The folks at the Apple shop had set the default user to the name I had been using before, but the TM migration wouldn't overwrite this with my settings and forced me to create a new user account. All fine so far, if a little irritating.
Today I went to use my printer for the first time, and realised that it wasn't installed. When i selected it, I was prompted to enter the User Name and Password for a member of the 'lpadmin' group. Although my preferred user account is an admin, it wouldn't accept those details. The user name and password for the 'other' account worked, but I can't track down where this lpadmin group exists, and how to add my preferred username to it.
Anyone know what's going on here?
    thanks.

Lpadmin group is a system group used by the CUPS printing system that is integrated into OS X. For more detail you can Google "lpadmin" which will provide numerous informative links. If you open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder then enter the following:
    man lpadmin
    Press RETURN.
You will get the Unix documentation for the lpadmin command that you may find helpful. You can also access the CUPS system via your browser using http://localhost:631/.

  • What happened to the "Group Gripper" in CC 2014?

This thing in the upper right hand corner of grouped panels used to let you move all the tabs at once time. It was super helpful for redocking a group of panels in a floating window into another window. Now if you want to dock the panels again you have to move each tab individually. There isn't a "Dock Grouped Panels" option in the menu drop down on the individual tabs and I can't seem to find something that functions similarly to the group gripper. It's still mentioned in the AE Help Workspace page.
This isn't a problem specific to one computer either. My computer at home (Window 8.1), at work (OSX Mountain Lion), as well as a local studio (Windows 8) I've been freelancing all don't have it.
Is this a bug with the recent UI reskin? Or is this a purposeful change? I hope it isn't because it really eats up my time when I have 5 panels that need to be moved at once.

Thanks for the quick response. What was the reason behind removing it? And is there any ETA on when it'll return?

  • What is a data group and what use is it for?

CAn some one explain me the concept of data group in EBS. What is it used for ? How does it enhance the security of Oracle Apps data ?
I know that Data groups are used while defining a responsibility and are meant for data security purpose. But I want to know the conceptual details behind it.
    Thanks.

Ok.. so with a data group we can have data security at Oracle schema level. I hope my understanding is correct.
I can create a data base user called Sinha and create a data group with this user/schema.
Now when I create a data group with this schema and assign it to a responsibility, which in turn is assigned to a user, he/she will have access only to those objects which are present in the schema called Sinha, right ?
Now as all the objects in Oracle Apps are created under the Apps schema, what use this new data group (and schema) is of ?

  • What happened to the Grouping field in Get Info?

I asked this question before and was referred to a specialist on the phone that solved the problem by telling me to click on "Add Field" and "Always show current fields."  Grouping was there and was editable.  All worked well ...
Until today.  Now, clicking on "Always show current fields" results in nothing.  So what happened between 11/13/2014, when I last downloaded books and was able to get Grouping, and today, 11/25/2014, when I no longer can?
Grouping is essential to my ordering of Book series.  FYI, I use iTunes mostly for Audiobooks of which I have about 700, which is why Grouping is essential to my sorting of series.
    HELP!!!!!

Thank you so much.  That works just fine.  However, I also just discovered something.  Evidently, at least some of the fields in list view are editable.  By adding Grouping to the columns shown and clicking on the empty field, I was actually able to type whatever I needed into the field.
I have not yet tried it with other fields, but will do so to see if it works for all fields in the list view.

  • In VKOA .. what are customer , material groups

    hi ,
in the tcode VKOA what are customer and material groups
where to see customer groups and material groups.....
and when PGI is done what happens to the costing document
    thanks
    mmn
    rewards for sure

    Hi,
Customer group is different from customer account assignment group. I have explained you about the customer account group.
    <b>Customer group:</b>
Identifies a particular group of customers (for example, wholesale or retail) for the purpose of pricing or generating statistics.
    <b>Use</b>
You can freely define customer groups according to the needs of your organization. You assign a customer group to an individual customer in either the customer master record of the sold-to party or in the sales document. In SD Customizing, you can create a condition type that lets you create pricing records for customer groups. Additionally, when you want to generate sales statistics, you can use customer groups as one of the selection criteria.
    <b>Procedure</b>
The system can propose a value from the customer master record. You can change the value manually in the document.
Customer group you will find in - XD01 - sales area data - sales screen
Customer account assignment group you will find in - XD01 - sales area data - billing screen.
Similarly material group and mateial account assignment group are both different. Material account assignment group I have explained earlier.
    <b>Material group:</b>
Key that you use to group together several materials or services with the same attributes, and to assign them to a particular material group.
    <b>Use</b>
You can use material groups to:
    Restrict the scope of analyses
Search specifically for material master records via search helps
Material group you will find in - MM01 - Basic data 1 screen
Material account assignment group  you will find in - MM01 - Sales:Sales Org. 2 screen.
