What is largest resolution size I should use?

Hello, I'm working on my first solo project and need help
(did some simple things with someone who knew how to use
captivate). I'm using Captivate 1. I'm going to take screen shots
(or import images) of rather large images (diagrams) one per slide,
and then add a text box under which explains the diagram. I'll add
a next and previous button to each slide. This is basically all I
need. The end product will be on a website and users will have a
menu and select what they want to see. Very basic at first. The
complication is the diagrams I need to explain already take up most
of a 17 inch screen at 1024/768. I have no experience with screen
resolutions. I just sent one sample as an .EXE to someone using a
19 in monitor at 1024/768 and the bottom image got cut off and
there is no scroll bar for her to scroll down. my monitor is a dell
laptop 15in diagnal at 1400/1050. what is the problem? What is the
largest size of recording window I should use to have most people
able to view properly? Do I really need to think of what the end
user will be veiwing with when i start a new project? sorry if I
sound clueless.

My audience access their content through the corporate
Intranet, and all users have a standardized configuration of 1024 x
768. They use Internet Explorer 6 to view the content in a browser
window. The LMS launches the browser window with all of the extras
(menu, toolbar, status bar, etc.) turned off to maximize viewable
area.
To avoid triggering scrollbars on the right or bottom of the
browser window, I've standardized on a maximum of 800 x 600 for my
Captivate movies' dimensions. We don't use the control bar in our
movies, but there's about 60 spare pixels (30 at top/botttom) left
over. We use part of it for branding at the top, and then our own
navigation controls at the bottom. There's quite a bit of space
left over on the left/right sides.
You have to decide whether you want sharp images, or
easy-to-capture images. If you want sharp images, then you'd have
to capture at 800 x 600 (or whatever you end up using). If you want
to go the easy route or can't live with capturing just a portion of
the screen, then you'll have to live with fuzzier images that
result from scaling things down.
Our captures are done at 1024 x 768 to get the entire
application window - which is a necessity. Then I use the "Resize
Project" function to scale them down to 800 x 600. Even with small
fonts in the application, everything's legible. On occasion I use
the Zoom feature to magnify a section, but overall it works out
fine this way.
In a nutshell, if your audience is viewing your content in a
browser on a machine set to 1024 x 768 resolution, producing your
Captivate movies for 800 x 600 or smaller is your best move.
According to my own tests, you can display movies up to 999 x
672 (give or take 10px) in a browser window...but ONLY IF you use
Javascript to disable the standard controls
(menu/toolbar/statusbar,etc.)
Actually - you might get another 20 pixels (to 692) if an LMS
isn't inserting a hidden frame in there -- you'll just have to try
out some tests to see what your maximum usable area is.

  • What kind of material type i should use?

    Dear all,
I am wondering what kind of material type I should use for the following type of material:
The material is Chicken used in like KFC- type of eatery franchise store.
The eatery franchise store buy the chicken from external party, next, this store process this chicken (i.e. cut into pieces) and become chicken salad and sell this chicken salad to their consumer.
Personally, I donu2019t think this kind of material can be classified as HAWA (i.e. trading mat type) as the material is not buying and later selling as a same physical product like the retail store.
But it is buy and process it, and sell.
Please help shed some light for me. Thanks.

Hi we have not using SAP, it is a new project.
kindly please read my question carefully...
    basically it is like this...
the chicken the restaurant chain purchased are later process into multiple meal dishes (i.e. Salad Chicken, Chicken with rice, Roast Chicken), and sell to customer directly.
Therefore, looking at your feedback, I can use the SEMI-FG material type for the Chicken for the buying, correct?
But this raise another question in which how do I track the goods issue quantity when the meal dishes is sold, so that my Chicken stock quantity can reflect correctly in the SAP system?
currently they are not using BOM as the franchise holder does not wish to disclose the meal ingredient scret (i.e BOM) to their invidual franchise store.
    please advise. thanks
    Thanks.

  • What is a good size SSD to use in the 2011 MBP's?

I have heard many people say they buy the 115, 128, 240, 512GB SSD's to use as his or her start up or boot drive...  I know SSD's are faster than HDD's but what is the most logical size SSD to use as a boot disk?  I am wanting to get an SSD and keep music, movies, and other files on my HDD in a data doubler.  Thanks for any input in advance!

    Drawbacks of SSD
1: Can not be securely erased, the driver won't allow it.
2: Limited writes (answer to #1)
3: Can't be used for large file transfer on/off to take advantage of the speed (see #2)
4: Prohibitive costs, need high speed and high storage for Bootcamp/Triple booting Mac's (OS X, Linux , Windows)
This is the fastest, largest, SDD money can buy (click to see)
A rough in the head calculation with the drive above, provided it had a external drive just as fast to offload data (no bottlenecks), could offload 500GB of data in about 15 minutes verses a hour with a 7,200 RPM drive.
One drive is $1800 and the other is $100-$200.
One is not securely erasable and the other is.
One has limited writes and the other has no practical limit.
One would have to have pretty deep pockects to throw away $1800 SSD drives like tissue paper to utilize their awesome speed for the only practical thing it's good for, transfering huge amounts of files quickly.

  • What dimentions (width x hight) i should use for an animation file so it appears correctly on tv. help please

    Hi every1
well i'm just asking a beginner question.
what to prepare for a file wich will be played on tv. ( i
knew that there is some things i should do in order to publish it
correctly on tv so no errors happen while playing)
I'm making an intro to be shown on tv. i'm using flash and
    imageready and 3ds max.
but the question is : what are the dimensions i should use so
that the animation shows correctly on tv.
I mean the width and the hight of the file. please help coz i
    really need this info.
and if there is any other things i should do in order that it
appears correct on tv, please tell me.
Oh is there any things i should do like 3ds max, i mean while
rendering i have to choose pal instead of custom or secam.
so please tell me what i should do in flash and imageready to
    produce it right.
Note: what i'm doing will be for tv. and not for web !
    and i'm so thankfull.
thanks to every1 who will help!

    Moe,
How will you be delivering the final product? The easy
answer is that NTSC resolution is 640x480 at 30 frames per second.
If you are in Europe, then you will be dealing with PAL format,
which I am less familiar with, but is 720x576 at 25 frames per
second. If you are talking about high definition, then you'd need
1920x1080. It is certainly a bit confusing, with so many standards
    out there...
I wish this was a simpler answer. A few links...

  • What is the if statement i should use

    Dear Experts,
I am very close in completing my problem, I ask you once more to aid me this.
I want to display an error but it keeps overwrite of what comes after
    e.g. a=1
    a= a+1 = 2
a= 10 then this acts as overwrite and changes it to 10
in my case the code is as follows,
    if (upfile.whwtyp.equals("country")) {
    system.out.println("upfile.ctyfun" +upfile.ctyfun);
    system.out.println("upfile.asocod" +upfile.asocod);
system.out.println("upfile.Err" +upfile.Err);I am thinking of putting the if statement here but i not as easy as i thought
whwbean.status=upfile.err; This is the overwrite to display the error
I have tried if (upfile.err=asocod= valid=0 etc. but these dont work often it says it is a string when valid=0 is a integer.
Please help, even a little words of thought will push in the right direction.
    Many thanks
    Ace Wong

    Hi Ace,
If I understand you correctly, you want to store an integer value (upfile.Err) into a String (whwbean.status).
    If so, then use this:
whwbean.status = Integer.toString(upfile.Err);Hope this is what you need,
    Chris.

If you only want to scan 120,000 bytes or less, then just enter 120000.
Generally spam will be under 80000 though. To improve performance and free up resources, I would recommend around 80000.

I do some VJ-type work, involving playback of QuickTime files from the computer to projections, and I get good results using ProRes 422. That's convenient, because ProRes 422 is such a great editing codec, too.
Traditionally, VJs use PhotoJPEG codec, which also works well, but it's a bad editing codec. So you would have to export an edited master, then convert.
If you want it to look as good as possible, definitely schedule some time to test the footage on the wall. You may want to change the color correction of your footage to match the projectors. And if you feed the video wall some flat gray, you can see if any of the projectors need to be  adjusted.
I'm not sure what application you're using for playback, but QuickTime Player 7 works well. It has an option to play fullscreen on an external monitor (View > Present Movie…).

  • HT4059 What is the largest iBook size I can author?

I am makeing my first iBook using Pages for my text. The book is just for my family and not for publication. What is the maximum size that I can convert to an iBook?

The largest capacity HDD that you can install is the HGST 1.5 TB HDD:

Any 2.5" 9.5mm thick SATA HDD will fit and operate in your MBP, regardless of capacity.

As you haven't told us who your email provider is, no.
There isn't an SMTP server for Greece - it is either provided by your email provider, or the Internet provider you are connected through.

  • What is the max size of HDD I can use in my dc7600 CMT

I am using an HP dc7600 CMT which is working fine after upgrading to a Samsung 128GB SSD, Intel Pentium D 3.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD 6450. I am running Win 8.1 Pro x64, with the most recent upgrade, and have absolutely no problems. I now want to add a second internal HDD, and wonder what is the max size  I can go to. Can I go to 2TB, or am I limited to a lower figure? 1TB? 500GB? 250GB?
Will be glad for some help here, especially if it has been actually tried in practice.
    Thanks in advance.

    You're very welcome.
Yes, they are very nice machines.
What a jump in performance when I swapped out the Pentium 4 620 mine had, for the PD 945, and tossed in 4 GB of memory.
That box will also run the Radeon HD 6570 with no problem too, which is what I put in mine.
The downside of that model is that there are no settings for ahci or raid.
I own or have owned every CMT since the d510 with the exception of the dc7900.
My main PC is now the 8200 Elite CMT which I installed W8.1 on.
It has an i7-2600 processor and 32 GB of memory, 1 TB SATA III hard drive.
I threw in a Radeon HD 6670 in that one.
