What is Liveshare and why has it appeared after the update to v15?

After updating to firefox 15 the icon for Trusteer Rapport disappeared from the address bar (I presume this is just a matter of waiting for an update from them) and was replaced by an icon for something called Liveshare - what is this and why is it there?

I've now got to the bottom of this, (and feel a little foolish for assuming this was down to Firefox before checking it out more thoroughly). The liveshare app comes bundled with the latest update to CoolPreviews and the only way to remove it is to uninstall the latest version and download the previous version again from Mozilla add-ons page. I don't think this is necessary as I have removed the Liveshare icon from view, want to keep CoolPreviews and it would only update again, I think, the next time I restarted Firefox. So, panic over and lesson learned - do a bit of research before you rush to ask for help (and make unfounded accusations)

Searchgol is a browser hijacker and it has nothing to do with Firefox. You probably got it after installing freeware. Think of apps you've installed, searchgol most likely came with them.

I tried all possible solutions through apple online support and then went to apple store as a last resort and they turned me down that there is no support in the 2nd year. Only option is to pay 160 pounds and get replacement. When I argued further, they said that if I had bought the iphone directly with them, they would replace me without any cost. This is even more frustrating.
THIS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR as its not my fault. If the release of faulty 7.0.4 software is timed in my 2nd year of contract and since I didnt buy the iphone directly from Apple, how is it fair to ask me to pay for replacement. Its not my fault after all.

Because you are outside the one year hard ware warrenty, Apple covers for the first year on their dime, if you had a two year contract why not make sure you have a two year insurance on your phone?
Either way as I can see/assume you are from europe you can look at your consumer laws to see if you qualify for anything there, beyond that it isn't the software that broke the device, it's a hardware failure because thousands upon thousands are happy and content with iOS 7.0.4

After the update, Aperture displays thumbnails, but I can't edit because Aperture doesn't see the referenced file ("image offline") and when choose all of my images and I run locate referenced files ... I get "No Referenced Files." I don't get the screen to "look" for the files.

Did you make a clean install and restore the library from a backup? No.
Or did you install the new system amd new version on top of the old system? Yes.

Is your Aperture library onyour internal drive or also on an external drive? External
During the update, has your Aperture library been moved in any way? No, its still where it was on the external drive.

I upgraded my MacBook Air (2012) to Yosemite a few months back and it changed the name of my Mac from "Alan's MacBook" to "Alan MacBook Air (2)." I simply want to know how to change it back to the original name. Also, why was it changed in the first place after my upgrade to Yosemite?

This was a common bug in Yosemite. Follow dwb's instructions but also restart your router. Make sure you're running OS X 10.10.2 since it was supposed to have been addressed with that update.
I have heard allegations regarding simultaneous use of both Wi-Fi and Ethernet (or equivalent adapter, considering it's a MBA) but can find no justification for them, and I never personally observed any correlation to it. It's perfectly acceptable to use both.

1st Topic: Current MacWorld article (May , pg 16-17) tells about the Leap-A trojan horse. However, it refers to a user Library folder named "InputManager" ... no such on my system...I wonder why not? I never use iChat.
Is the Virus connected only to the 'Buddy List' ?
2nd Topic: I seem to remember a rule to never delete the "Receipts" folder in System/Library/... /Receipts/... All 'Install' Icons were there to aid Update and other S/W. My Tiger (10.4.4) has no such folder.. I wonder what happened to it?
Was it renamed?
Everything works fine... updates, installs, etc etc... Just wondering...

~/Library/Receipts.
BUT, I have none in my Tiger Production Volume....
All that is in that folder are 3 folders from
previous Adobe installs... the install.log for
Acrobat Pro, Distiller & Reader...
Did Adobe do that to my Library/Receipts? It could
happen I guess however a FIND in each of the logs did
not have any reference,
I backup via SuperDuper! ... and I use the SANDBOX

somehow during the Safety Cloning the Receipts got

Receipts Folder: IT IS on all my Tiger Volumes: Production, Sandbox, Backup...
I was confused with the fact that <Users/jbabcock/Library /...> is NOT the same as <Root/Library/Receipts/....> where Root is my Computer's name: followed by its /Library/... etc.
So ALL my Volumes of Tiger DO have the Receipts folder... but NOT /Home/Library /.... Etc...
I have only myself as the user.

What is Genieo and why did it appeared misteriosouly on my MacBook Pro?

Today I was using my MacBook and misteriosouly I saw something on my dock. There was an icon saying install Genieo. I ask my brother if he downloaded something and he told me that he haven't use my computer. Fortunetely I have a passcode so nobody can istall a program without the code.... I feel scared because this morning I saw a message on my Mac saying that somebody on my network was using my computer IP Adress. I deleted that installer but I feel scared for all the Mac users. Somebody please replie.

I have read the posts on this site you have linked and can not come to a conclusion that this genieo software was in anyway malicious and cannot discern from information provided that is invades or hijacks your computer, as you have previously stated a password has prevented installation of software malicious or not malicious onto your macbook, be thankful that you are using OSX and not another vulnerable operating system.
This being said however does not rule out that someone other than yourself has had access to your computer or has introduced an altered or unaltered copy of what seems to be legitimate software to your local network which could be infact malicious.
I can only see one outstanding issue from your original post in this thread is the issue with the IP conflict on your macbook and whether this has been resolved.

What is iConcertCal and why is it asking me the same question?

Within the last month, every time I start up iTunes I get a window with the following at the top - "iConcertCal could not locate the file 'iTunes Music Library.xml', please locate it now." The first three times I located the file for it but it keeps asking for it even after those three times! Now I just hit cancel and iTunes starts up but I am getting tired of locating the file for it. How do I solve this problem? Spotlight shows a folder in the Application Support in the Library. There is one document in it labeled "icc". I can't find anything else labeled iConcertCal. What is it?

It's a plug-in for iTunes to show you a calendar with local concerts and record releases based on artists in your iTunes library
You can view it by setting as you iTunes visualizer (iTunes menu View -> Visualizer - iConcertCal) then turning on the visualizer.

I was charged for the movie and this error keeps coming up as a problem with itunes. I had never had a problem like this.

I don't know how to fix the problem, but I know who is creating it. Starfield is an entity of GoDaddy. Below the Starfield extension you should see a WBE(Web Based Email) paste extension. So I'm guessing all of us have GoDaddy or use the Starfield mail notifier on your toolbar. I tried numerous times to uninstall it for the simple reason it keeps zooming especially in my web based email. I have a feeling uninstalling email notifier will fix it, but I actually like that function. So it it is not a Mozilla problem as much as it is a Starfield(GoDaddy) problem.

Indexing allows Spotlght to know where everything is on your computer. It won't take as long as it says, the times it gives are always vastly inflated.
