What is Logic's strongest selling point?

I use and love Logic. I also have Ableton and admire it for it's innovation. My bandmate uses Cubase 5 and my mastering engineer uses Pro Tools.
All of these DAWs seem to have one or more mains selling points.
_Abelton Live's_ sells its innovate way to structure and manage songs, generate new ideas and perform
_Pro Tools_ sells it's ability to track and edit audio very well and calls itself the "industry standard"
Cubase sells the idea that it's extremely powerful for manipulating and editing audio (similar to pro tools) but it also sells that it is much more powerful in terms of MIDI than Pro-Tools. It enjoys being the leader in VSTs
All of these DAWs are compatable on Mac and PC.
I'm not starting any arguments or "which is better" discussions. I'd just like to know what is Logic 9s selling pitch? Where does it have specific "muscle" in terms of being a DAW?
Is it a leader or innovator in any one area?

It is not necessary the functions but the ease and the fine details. Adjustment are all there with a right click, plus it look wonderful and well designed. DP also is good but I always end up being nervous because in DP the adjustments are harder and counter productive or non intuitive, from that point on is all down hill with PT and the others. It is only MHO. If you have access to few of the main DAW logic just stand out with logic, it was first designed as a Midi software Audio was added later so it is alway (Thus far) ahead of the competition in that department. Precision I guess is another aspect, Physical precision of where you want to put your Midi notes. It is NOT vague like other DAW but put the note exactly where it belong unless you did not click at the exact location. Others DAW it is harder to target and click you Midi notes many times you have to do it twice/3 times.....
I am a hobbyist (Half an engineer) But when I need a expert Midi pro He comes all equipped with Logic and tons of samples. Also the studio where I record (Other than mine) also have Logic for Midi.
Actually I just finished a song mostly based on Midi. I used DP 7 Boy I am tired, I regret not choosing Logic, but sometime you want to change environment just to see new things, it is good for the mind.

Can´t get logic to record audio

ok, i´m feelin´really stupid here - but it´s true - I can´t get logic to record audio in some songs. the only thing - as far as I´m concerned - that is changed while swaping between songs are the song settings. that´s where I´ve been looking for something that´s been disabling the rec function.
I was working on a song right now which I was recording vocals on a couple of days ago, and now I was going to record some synthstrings (record to audio) and I just can´t make it happen. record path e t c seems to be ok.
please somebody...HELP!!

thanks for takin´time... I solved the problem last night and then forgotten to post what i´m doing now. but I think it´s a bug... (and it´s ok if u don´t believe me...) it´s a bit spooky...
I´ve changed the track icons to that cute little tapedeck (for the audio tracks only - buses, inputs and audio instruments have other symbols). looks nice in the arrange window. (gives me the "feel" of recording...) And the song i was working with has been like this for a couple of months. And I´ve been doing a lot of recording until yesterday when it was not possible...
For some reason i started to fiddle with the track symbol - changing it - and, yes, logic was able to record. At this time I didn´t believe that this was the reason so I changed back to the little tape deck, and yes, recording was not possible. Then I opened an autoload which had the same syndrom (at that time I didn´t bother - I just created another setup), and first trying to record - not possible - then changing the tape deck symbol (yes I used it here too - I really liked it...) and recordning was possible. It seems that if all of logics 64 audiotracks has that (from now on I will call it "ugly") tape deck symbol, at least I can´t record audio (logic won´t go in to record - no matter what - pushing buttons clicking mouse e t c) recording midi was never affected. And the "spooky" thing is that I´ve been recording (with no problems) with all of the 64 audiotracks labelled with that little "ugly" tape deck - until yesterday...
This might just b a wierd thing - but if anyone elese has a problem like this, it might help. I´m not shure weather it´s the tape deck symbol itself that causes the problem, but getting rid of it solves the same problem.
(I´m using a RME multiface and I´m not 100% shure it could have SOMETHING to do with this)

Logic 9 "Export Audio to Movie" command

What happened to the "Export Audio to Movie" command that used to be under the file menu? This is something I sorely need back.Trying to import audio into Motion 5 is not working out well - even with rendering set at the lowest settings (same with FCP10). I like to be able to see my results as I'm working, not watch choppy playback and guess where to drop in the audio. I'm running an 8 core Mac Pro with 32 G of RAM and I'm wondering if anyone has used a good work around for this problem. I wish I never updated.

I just used Quicktime Player to open the movie and dragged a bounced down version of my Logic audio on top of it. I "Saved As" and it worked fine!

You need to turn off the Zoom accessibility feature. Tap the screen twice with three fingers to get to normal screen. Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn Zoom off. You can also do that by connect the computer to iTunes and going to the Summary pane for the iPod and go to Configure Universal Access.

I have explained below the steps of how a LDB works in a report program.
Logical database is a program which fetches data from the database and provides it to the other programs.
It has its own selection screen. When we use a LDB in a report program, that selection screen automatically appears for this report program.
In order to use it in a report program:
1. We have to mention the LDB name in the attributes of report program say for eg: we mention PNP (is one of the LDB).
2. We have to mention a node in the report program. Node is nothing but a work area.
         This is done by declaring the TABLES statement in the report program.
          For eg:      TABLES : PERNR
          PERNR is a structure which contains the basic details of an employee (related to HR module)
3. We have to mention the internal tables within which the relevant data is fetched.
          This is done by declaring the INFOTYPES statement in the report program.
          For eg:   INFOTYPES: 0000, 0001,0002, 0006, 0007.
          Infotypes are nothing but a table structure. Here we are declaring the internal tables PA0000, PA0001, PA0002.....which will have the same structure of corresponding database tables PA0000, PA0001, PA0002.. in the database.
Now, how the data is actually fetched in to the program:
1.     The fetching of the data is trigerrred by a GET node event.
Say, if we mention - GET PERNR. statement in the program. The data rows satisfying the parameters selected in selection screen are fetched from database, but filled into the PERNR work area row by row.
2.     For each row fetched into the PERNR - relevant data is fetched into the internal tables PA0000, PA0001, PA0002 from database tables. For eg: PA0002 is a database table which holds the personal details of an employee and there may be many rows of data for the same employee. So based on the personnel number (employee number) fetched into PERNR all data records of that employee are fetched in to our internal table pa0002 from the database table PA0002.
             Like wise , the other internal tables - pa0003, pa0006 are filled with the corresponding data.
            Like data in PERNR work area acts like a primary key to fetch the data from data base to the internal tables.
3.     For these data fetched into internal tables - we can write our data processing statements or just display on the list report.
             So what ever statements we write between GET PERNR. and END SELECTION. are executed repeatedly like within a loop until all data records satisfying the parameters entered in selection screen are fetched into the node(work area) PERNR.
             GET PERNR.   * like LOOP.
                       write pa0002-name.   * This statement is executed for each data record fetched into the work area PERNR.
other data processing statements.
             END-SELECTION        * like END LOOP.

get physical path & file name, so in case of change in dir structure don't

While 10.2 might help, there's not much you can do on the Internet these days with less than 10.4.11

Logic stopped playing audio

Hello everybody, this is a vital question.
After the latest security update, logic stopped playing audio. After a short debug I discovered that core audio doesn't show any external interface anymore, so any other song is affected. I dont know if the security update is related... Anyways Logic is gone and my songs too!!!
Audio-Midi configuration, as well as the interface related control panels, work as expected and audio is correctly played by the finder. All other software which makes use of core audio (e.g. Bias Peak) works.
My interfaces are AVID M-Audio Fast Track Ultra and, for this testing purposes, M-Audio Audiosport Duo (legacy), all with the latest drivers.
Obviously my Logic is officially bought from the App Store.
MacPro (late 2007) 7GB RAM 2 x 2,66Ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon
Mac OS X 10.7.5 (latest update)
Logic Pro 9.1.8 (1700.67) 32 bit (latest update)

I had that happen. I had to trash my Logic prefs, then restart Logic. It's a P.I.T.A. because you lose various settings (color settings, for instance), but it fixed the problem for me.

HT201777 WHAT IS CAUSING THE NO AUDIO ISSUE ON APPLE TV?????

I work at a school. Every single classroom has an apple TV device connected to all projectors.
Staff constantly have issues where they are seeing visual but NO SOUND.
We created an Airplay Audio Fix in which they can install! (takes about 10 seconds) this disconnects them from the ATV.
Once they connect back up as per normal and use audio the audio comes back instantly.
We are unsure of what is causing the NO SOUND issue.
We know how to fix it otherwise (powering off ATV, unplugging the cables etc... OR OUR AIRPLAY FIX which saves us a lot of time from running from classroom to classroom.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE NO AUDIO ISSUE? I HAVE COME TO A CONCLUSION THAT IT MAY BE BECAUSE STAFF ARE NOT DISCONNECTING FROM THE ATV BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE CLASSROOM I.E. CLOSING THE LAPTOP LID, WALKING AWAY FROM THE CLASSROOM VIA THE IPAD ETC..
THIS MAY NOT BE THE CASE AND AM WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOW WHY THE ISSUE OCCURS. I DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO FIX AND WE HAVE A SIMPLE FIX BUT JUST THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

Could be network bandwidth issue transiently if Macbook makes loads of wi-fi accesses when starting.
Could be wireless router transiently becoming unresponsive to AppleTv while it negotiates with the new device.
Could be the MacBook finding AppleTV and some communication between them taking priority on the AppleTV such that AppleTV can't handle the music playback too - it should be designed to be resilient to this sort of thing, but it isn't a very powerful device and some hiccups i think are due to it's hardware not coping, just like a computer becoming transiently unresponsive if CPU hogged by some process.
If you are opening iTunes on Macbook, try unchecking 'Look for AppleTVs' in Preferences - I seem to recall a few people saying this helped a similar issue, and it would imply that this prevented some interaction between itunes and AppleTV that stopped other functions transiently.

Logic X passes Audio Units

Logic X won´t find my Wave Plugins I´d really like to use in Logic X. The Audio Units
are not shown in the Audio Units Manager.
Anyone else having trouble with third party plugins?

Only Waves V9 plugins are 64bit Au Plugins.. so if you are using V8 or earlier.. you cannot use them in Logic Pro X as 32bit plugins are no longer supported... so you will need to purchase the V9 versions from Waves or use somethig else.
If they are V9 versions then make sure you quit Logic and then run the Wave AU Reg Utility 9.2 or later.. which is found in your Applications/Waves/Waveshell folder to properly validate them first and then they will show up correctly in Logic Pro X

PROJECT BUG: Playhead skipping back 3/4 beat. Logic not playing audio

Only in one project is Logic not playing audio/the playhead is not moving forward.
The playhead moves back a few ticks when I press spacebar or click play on the transport. It does not continue after this.
Please help!

Try using the Selective Track Import feature to import each track to a new project.....
