What is mac book keeper?
i have heard online about mac book keeper, is it fake..?
A horrible piece of malware pretending to be something that prevents bad things happening to your Mac. Just search these forums, and you'll find literally a thousand threads on how bad it is. And once you get it, it is difficult to remove. Don't do it. Don't even think about it!
Here is a description of how hard it is to fixe your Mac after installing MacKeeper.

My mac book keep on beeping and make the beep sound 3 time (same goes to the light) and it won't start up. What should i do?
If you recently installed new ram, make sure it is seated properly.
If that doesn't work try removing one stick at a time to see if one is dead or put original ram back in. -

My Dad is 92 and doesn't see very well. He was writing on his Mac book and a button came up on his desktop that asked him to open files - and he said yes, not really understanding. When I went to check, I thought at first that the Mac was attempting to index dad's computer, but in reality, all that was happening was emails were all being opened randomly and stacking on the desktop. You could not stop it except to force quit. I restarted the computer and the whole process occurred again. What's going on?

Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and AdwareMedic.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
The facts are:
1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.
3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
protection against malware.
5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware. -

What model/year MBP do you have and what OSX do you have installed?
What OSX do you need to install?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway. -
Brand new Mac Book keeps freezing!!!
I got the new mac book pro 15 inch 7 days ago, and if i go on youtube or skype or have video's up my computer stops working, the mouse becomes unresponsive, the keys become unresponsive and the only thing i can do is shut the computer down. when i close it it takes a while of holding down to close and when i open i i hear a loud spinning sound coming from the computer. If anyone can help me that would be great because now i regret buying this one when my previous 2008 model never had this happen in 4 years, while with this mac book it has happened 4 times in the past 5 days... 2 times just now within the previous 40 minutes.
what browser are you using for youtube?
there is also an issue with Skype. when you have Skype running in the background, open activity monitor and you'll see Skype using 90% and up while on idle. downgrade your skype to the previous version.
if you're using chrome, uninstall it until a fix has been issued.
open up activity monitor and under all process, see what's using up most of your cpu's resources. highlight the ones using 10% and higher on your CPU and hit quit process.
check your login items - delete the ones you don't need to start up.
now, check your disk permissions and repair if needed.
after you've done all those, restart your macbook and see if that stops the freezing issues you've been having...
good luck. -
What is Mac book ??
Plzz explain me Whts Mac book !!¿
The MacBook was a brand of notebook computers manufactured by Apple Inc. from early 2006 to late 2011. It replaced the iBook series and 12-inch PowerBook series of notebooks as a part of the Apple–Intel transition from PowerPC. Positioned as the low end of the MacBook family, below the premium ultra-portable MacBook Air and the powerful MacBook Pro,[3] the Apple MacBook was aimed at the consumer and education markets.

Whats does mac book pro apple care exactly over? everthing but lost or stolen?
mac book pro apple care exactly over? everthing but lost or stolen?
It's hardware coverage of factory defects to three years from the date of purchase of the machine + phone support.
You can buy it within the one year standard warranty, but it's still only three years max.
Doesn't cover software issues, data recovery, user damage, accidents or thefts. OS X may be reinstalled in the repair process but really doesn't count as fixing software issues.
It's sort of mandatory, as eventually one will upgrade OS X and a firmware update can brick a logicboard by exposing unknown flaws or drivers for video cards causing issues.
Never upgrade OS X without AppleCare in place as Apple has multiple points of potential failure on the logicboard, the parts are not more seperated like on PC's and thus cheaper to fix.
A new logicboard out of applecare is prohibitive, you'll be better off buying a new machine. -

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
ive been getting these pop ups for a wyle now. its starting to really worry me! im not super new to mac. i know that you have to empty the trash. i have also used different types of free programs because i dont want to waist my money on one. they helped quite a bit. but ive aleady deleted so meny files already! i dont have alot of down loads and barly any files, or apps! whats causing this! i also dont have any duplicate files that i know of. please help! im begging!
i have also tryed using macintosh HD first aid, and tryed deleting free space. wasnt much of an impact.

available: 5.69 GB!!!! AAH!!
Used: 493.54 GB ? i have no idea what i could have possibly used it all for.
it also says my number of files is : 360,350
can someone please help?! im so doomed...TimeMachine...

OmniDiskSweeper will show where and what (maybe not why)
The "./Volumes" is popular place for disk drive that failed to mount and now has data
volumename and volumename 1
for instance.
And that you posted in a non-notebook forum though - always have backups (plural) and clone plus timemachine are a great combo
when did you last run Timemachine backup or reconnect the drive? pending backups ? a runaway Console log?
