What is Maximum possible RAM upgrade?
I have a Macbook Pro , 2011, 8.2 , Core i7 , 2.4 GHz with 4 GB RAM. I need maximum possible RAM upgrade. I checked in www.eshop.macsales.com. They offer 16GB 1333 RAM. As it is about 150$, I want to confirm if the information is correct.
The max capacity you can currently stuff into two sticks is 16GB and the 2011 models can happily use it all. Speedwise you have to stick with the speed built into the logic board: 1067 MHz for 2010, 1333 MHz for 2011 and 1600 MHz for 2012. Faster RAM won't benefit the system and may even lead to timing issues and weird glitches. For the same reason, it is best to use Mac-certified RAM, that ensures the correct CAS timing.

Possible ram upgrade questions.
I want to upgrade my stock 2gig ram and found a 4 gig set(2x2) on newegg.com
Here's the link
Newegg
Other than memory gain aside, am i gaining anything or losing anything feature-wise with this new ram?
Or are they exactly the same feature for feature, with more memory to boot for the upgrade?
Am I making any sense to you guys?Great! Good luck!
The manual that came with your mac explains how to do it-install RAM.....fairly easy. Of note, make sure you get the exact size small screw driver they recommend. Nothing else will work. If you need help with that, post back and I will look up the size I bought.

I'm wondering if this RAM would work for a macbook 2.0ghz, it passes all of the specifications needed but i don't know about the size, if anyone knows please let me know.
http://www.simpletech.com/parts/stambk6671gb.htmThat is the right stuff for your MB. It is a little expensive and I use THIS from Patriot and New Egg without problems.

What is the maximum ram upgrade possible on a Mid 2011 iMac 21.5-inch
I have an iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2011 running OS X 10.9.5 which currently has 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Ram. The Hard Drive has 149.87 GB free out of 499.25 GB. It has been running slow for a while now. I would like to know what is the "TRUE" maximum Ram Upgrade possible. The reason I say "TRUE" is because the specs say one things when I find others saying another. I would like to install the maximum Ram that will increase the speed to its optimum. I have read some information that this particular computer will not take advantage of anything past a certain amount of ram.
So with all that said, I am asking for specific numbers, types of ram, suggestions etc etc...
ThanksHere's what you can do and need:
Maximum Memory
32 GB (Actual) 16 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots
4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
Sources for memory I recommend are:
OWC

Maximum RAM upgrade possible on a mid 2011 iMac 27"
Can I upgrade my mid 2011 Imac 27" to 32 gb of RAM. Apple handbook says only possible to upgrade to 16gm (4x 4gb cards). Has anyone upgraded a 2011 Imac 27" to 32gb of RAM?
Yes, both OWC, http://www.macsales.com and Crucial, http://www.crucial.com offer 32 GB ram kits that are guaranteed to work...to do that you would be best to not buy from sources that are not Mac specialists and who guarantee their ram to work.

How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum extract.
Hello
How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum performance. I would be interested how far one could come close to the performance of the new Mac Pro 2013, or is it hopeless.
My computer
Mac Pro
mid-2010
Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 14 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Please excuse my english is not the best because. For what apps?
Okay, you have the slower 2.4GHz processors, most have found that MHz still rule and matter, meaning a 6-core 3.4GHz for some applications (most) was the best and the sweet spot.
So you could upgrade to a pair of 3.2GHz 4-core (cheapest) rather than splurge on two 6-core 3.34GHz (more expensive and more cores).
First thing to do, put the system on a 256GB Samsung 840 SSD.
For photoshop and graphics, invest in some more SSD ($US300 for 500GB) and put those on a PCIe SSD controller ($300 Sonnet Tempo Pro) and put Aperture/Lightroom on one, and use the 2nd SSD for scratch.
RAM: 24-32GB would probably help all but the more casusalist of user.
Tips and articles:
http://www.macperformanceguide.com head to the TOPICS main page and there are dozens of sections each a different area of upgrade and optimization for applications. Storage, memory, how to, use arrays, backup strategy. -

Is it possible to upgrade the 10.5.8 OS on a MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz/Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of RAm to the latest OS?
The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
Snow Leopard Tech Specs
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Other countries...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...
Next... Check that your Mac meets the Requirements for Mountain Lion.
Upgrade to Mountain Lion
With Regard to ML... Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using... Also note that Rosetta is no longer supported in Lion and Mountain Lion...
http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
You should also consider more RAM... Get the Maximum you can for your Mac...
It is important to get the Correct and Matching RAM
See Here > OWC RAM > http://www.macsales.com
The above site also has videos on how to Install RAM should you need it... -

Im wondering that you want to upgrade to 8GB RAM... Normally 3 or 4GB should be more as enough for all applicaions at the moment.
Anyway, as Jayjay said its not possible to upgrade to 8GB. A friend of me has a Satellite A300 and the user manual says that it can upgrade to 4GB or 2GB (depending on the chipset). So if you have a PM965/GM965/RS690M chipset you can upgrade it to 4GB. Otherwise you can only use up to 2GB.
I have upgraded my Toshiba notebook with Kingston RAM. This is high quality RAM and has a good compatibility. I never had problems with such modules.
Check this!!

Hi I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the graphics card on a MacBook Pro and the RAM without voiding the warranty? I have a gt 650m in my MacBook Pro, non retina, and to me, its not enough power for me, so i was looking around, and I found a retailer that would give me a nvidia gtx 660m for a decent price. Also, the ram needs to be at least 12gbs, to ensure that my computer would run fast.
If you can help, please tell me,
Thankyou. No, the video card cannot be exchanged - you have a pretty decent GPU there; not sure why you'd want to switch it out. You can upgrade the RAM to a maximum of 16GBs. Apple recommends upgrading in matching pairs, so I don't really think I'd try 4GB and 8GB stick.
Both Crucial and OWC have memory available for the new Macs. Both are reputable dealers and know Macs well and I would only buy from these sources (and I would buy Crucial, were it me).
Although your Mac didn't come with a users manual outlining the installation of the additional RAM, you can download the late 2011 model users guide as the models themselves are almost identical.
Good luck - write back with any questions.

What's the maximum memory ram for Macbook Pro?
Hello,
May I know what's the maximum memory ram capacity for Macbook Pro?
I am having Macbook Pro - 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Thank you!
AlvinHate to resurrect a dead horse but....I was looking in the instructions for memory upgrades and the instructions specified that the computer will only recognize 3 gigs. Will that still be in effect if I upgrade to Snow Leopard when it becomes available? Or do I need to save my pennies for a Mac Pro? What I am getting at is: is the reason for the RAM cap due to software issues, 64 bit not being native, different version of leopard used on notebooks, or is it due to hardware issues.

Early 2011 13" MacBook Pro maximum Ram upgrade amount
I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" and am looking to upgrade my ram. I notice one Apple's website the maximum recommended amount to upgrade is only 8 Gb. Is it possible to upgrade to a higher amount without affecting my MacBook?
Not negatively. Apple didn't test it with the higher capacity modules before releasing it and didn't update its specifications afterwards.

Maximum RAM upgrade for Mac Mini mid-2010?
Hi,
I have a Mac Mini mid-2010 (Model 4.1). I purchased it with 4 Gb RAM, and I am now considering a RAM upgrade.
I currently am running OS 10.95 - and not particularly happy with the sluggish performance that has been the hallmark of my 'upgrade' to Mavericks on this machine. I figure that increasing RAM can only help what has become a sometimes teeth-gnashingly slow computer.
In any case, the Apple tech specs document says that the maximum RAM for this machine is 8 Gb. However, the macmemory.com web page for this model Mac Mini says it can handle 16 Gb so long as the OS is 10.7 or greater.
Is this true? Anyone tried this?
Thanks,

I have a couple of possible RAM models to purchase such as:
Corsair SO-Dimm 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000,1866MHz
