What is maximum read out speed of USB DAQ 6343

hello everyone,
we have new USB DAQ 6343.Its application note(or say characteristcs) says that it's sampling rate is 500K Sample/second.Now i need some clarification from you guys.I have to read digital data(serial or parallel). so plz tell me how much far I can go with this product for both ways.
thanks in advance,

Unfortunatly I can't get the spec online

but you should have get it with your device
However the datasheet is telling me something like 500kS/s aggregate (500kS/s / <number of channels read> ),  but up to 1MS/s for digital input. However you need to get the data into your PC. If you read one 8 bit port @1MS/s the USB should be able to handle the datastream.

  • How to read out data via usb

    Hello,
i am trying to get the measurements of a dial indicator, "MarCator 1075", product of Mahr Co. via USB-Cable.
I installed all the drivers and MAX shows that its a COM-Device and its working properly. So i configured the settings: baud rate 4800, data bits 7, parity even, stop bits 2, apllied and saved the changes.
I tried those 2 attached VI's, but it doesnt work.
    1. basic_serial_write_and_read.vi is the standard VI for USB-communication of NI.
    2. Sylvac Read.vi is a VI the vendor send after i talked to him to inform me about the dial indicator. He said its a VI to get Data via RS232, but the problem is that i dont have a RS232-slot in my computer. In order to that i have to realize it via USB.
I think it doesnt work because there are no databits to be read out. When the dataflow arrives the "VISA-Read" theres is an error. This occures in both VI's.
Error -1073807339 occurred at VISA basic_serial_write_and_read.vi
Possible reason(s): VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.
Anyone who can help me with my issue??
    thx in advance
    best regards

    Hello FCHansa,
have you installed the proper drivers?
Which version of LabVIEW are you using?
Which OS are you working on?
In the LabVIEW Example Finder you have a simple example how you can communicate to a USB HW via NI-VISA.
It's called "Basic TCPIP or USB VISA Write and Read - PDA.lvproj". Or another would be "Basic TCPIP or USB VISA Write and Read - Touch Panel.lvproj"
Have you configured your USB Device to a virtual COM interface?

Samsung starts mass producing PCIe SSDs with 1400MB/s read speeds By Matthew Humphries Jun. 17, 2013 11:27 am
When the new MacBook Air got the teardown treatment last week, there wasn’t much different from the previous model apart from the addition of a Haswell processor, bigger battery, dual microphones, and a new SSD.
In fact, it’s that SSD that was the most unexpected new component, as it saw Apple switch from a SATA to a PCIe-connected storage solution.
That faster storage solution isn’t going to be limited to MacBook Airs , though. The PCIe SSD was supplied to Apple by Samsung, and Samsung has today announced it is already mass producing the drives.
The new drive is known as the XP941 and Samsung will offer it in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB configurations. It achieves read speeds of 1,400MB/s, which clocks it at 2.5x faster than a SATA SSD. It also only weighs 6 grams and measures 80 x 22mm. Samsung claims it only takes up a 7th of the space occupied by a typical 2.5-inch SSD.
With Samsung being the only company currently boasting mass production of such drives, supplies may be stretched depending on how many manufacturers decide to use them.
Apple is surely already taking a large chunk of the stock every month already, leaving everyone else to fight over the rest.
    ===========
It depends a lot on the pattern, and also what type of file, what any particular benchmark too. Intech SpeedTools gives you more flexability in read and write file tests - SSD writes are highly variable, it is the high IOPS and high reads that boost a system so much.
People that were using PCIe SSD 6G and multiple SSDs have found that Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop scratch AND having the system on their SSD run smoothly, fast, even faster than those "olde" SATA3 6G controllers they were using to get 800-900MB/sec.
I just don't think you looked on Barefeats or Googled long enough to find some reviews, and there have been more - the large Anandtech review of the nMP is a good start.

  • What is the Read/Write speed for a 250gb Serial ATA hard drive?

Hello. I've been having some problems via my Mac (Kernel panic at start up) and is thinking wether or not it is the hard drive.
Does anyone know what the Write speed is for the specified hard drive. I'm currently getting about 5 mbps and that feels a bit slow
I'm on a Macbook Pro mid 2009 model.
    Thanks in advance
    Ashley.

I haven't got the logs. I had to reinstall everything in order to get it to start up (Couldn't find ACPI?)
And I'm only asking because it seems like my laptop HD is running slow. Is it normally about 5mbps for a 5400rpm HDD?

  • Read out from OBD-II Freematic Emulator using ELM327 with USB and LabView

Hello. I have an Freematic OBD-II mk2 emulator which simulates diagnostics of a real car. I have connected an ELM327 diagnostic device with USB cable to the emulator and a PC. The connection between emulator, diagnostic device and computer works. Now I need to read out parameters in LabView. How do I do it? I tried to use the NI VISA functions, but didn't manage to read out anything sensible. How can I for example read out Engine RPM? Do you have some example code?
I want to avoid using Automotive Diagnostic Command Set, because it's to expensive for me.

Oh yes, I didn't realize what this hardware does.  Some beginners think that a DB9 is a standard interface for a CAN bus, and when they see the DB9 serial port on their computer they think they can just use that.  I was worried this was what you were attempting.
So yes VISA is the right way to go.  Once you have this device installed and recognized in Windows it should appear as a COM port.  You can open the Windows Device Manager and by plugging and unplugging your device you should see a COM port appear and disappear.
Assuming you do launch LabVIEW and go to the example finder and search for Simple Serial.  This is an example VI that can send serial data to a COM port, wait, then read the response.  It can basically work like hyperterminal.  Assuming there are no already made LabVIEW drivers (I haven't seen any) this will be a good place to start.  Using documentation on your hardware you can start to come up with commands to do things like read and write CAN data, by sending the appropriate commands to the hardware over serial.

Depending on what you want to do it might be a decent amount of work.  Of course if you do get anything good and working feel free to post your progress here so others can benefit.

  • Whats the maximum achievable speed of data transfer from RT to host PC

    Hi
Anybody can tell me whats the maximum achievable speed of data transfer from RT to host PC, in case of both PXI and CompacRIO.
    Regards
    Visuman

    Hi visuman,
To be honest, the dataspeed is dependent on how you architect the code, and the data communication channels that you use.
There are many factors that influence the maximum transfer rate, including network topology, types of interface used, OS, ambient network traffic etc.
You can control two things, packet size, and amount of sleep time between transmissions.
By altering the delay between consecutive TCP/IP transmissions and by varying the packet sizes sent from the embedded side to the host side, you can obtain a clear picture of network characteristics between the two devices. The end result is a report of the optimal TCP/IP configuration, that is packet size and sleep time.

  • Read Out Loud: Setting voice speed?

Setting voice speed in Read Out Loud doesn't work right. When I choose Adobe Reader > Preferences and uncheck the “Use default speech attributes” checkbox, and then change the number in the “Words per minute” field within the allowable range, click OK and then choose View > Read Out Loud, the reading rate DOES NOT CHANGE, no matter what numbers I set in the  “Words per minute” field.
This worked in previous versions of Adobe Reader. Why doesn't it work in the current version? I used to use this feature a lot, and it is very annoying that it reads at the same slow, plodding rate no matter what I set it to.
    Adobe Reader 9.5.0
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
    Voice: Ryan Infovox Ivox HQ

Same problem here.  I can change the voice* but even with the "use default speech attributes" button unchecked, changing the pitch or WPM does absolutely nothing.  Bug?
    * even though I can change the voice, they all sound awful and mechanical - barely like the actual voices when played using other Mac apps.  I figure maybe this has something to do with using an incorrect pitch, but since I can't change the pitch, they all just sound awful.

  • Read/Write speeds with Airport Extreme and USB Hard Drives

Anybody know how fast the read/write speeds are with a USB hard drive and the Airport Extreme Base Station?
    My Setup
    I have a 17 MBP (2010) and a 13 MBP (2011) - no SSD's
MBP generally connect via 802.11n 5Ghz with a very strong signal
Gigabit connection on a Windows Desktop
    I have a variety of external drives (7200, 5400, Drobo) at varying capacity (320GB, 2TB, 5.6TB)
    Goals
    Backup: Time machine
Backup: File copies of pictures and home videos (greater than 1GB files)
    Backup: Crashplan
File sharing: Aperture libraries--not sure if that is possible or practical. That is something that I need to research further...but on the off chance people have experience with it.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Apple's AirPort base stations aren't known for fast file serving, but for most purposed they're fast enough.
I can't comment specifically on your Aperture plan, but with some software it's important to avoid simultaneous access by more than one user.

I had a "dream" job for a while. a guy - who writes books on software process, and is a member of the agile alliance - had an idea for a product, sat on it for 15 years then left his job and started a company. he assembled his team personally, and 8 of us sat in a room and worked to make his idea a reality. he was the management, and he was also the most talented programmer of us all. the team ran beautifully, we rarely had a deadline to work to, save the odd launch here and there, and there was absolutely zero office politics. all we did was write code, toss ideas about, play with the development process and sometimes go karting, or to the pub, or for a curry or something. I actually looked forward to going to work every day, because of this free reign we had, and we all turned out orders of magnitude more code than anywhere else I've ever worked. but the investors got nervous and pulled funding, leaving the project somewhat crippled. nice while it lasted, though, and I learnt more in my short time there than I did at university, and across 5 years experience in other companies
so the answer is: come up with an idea, be expert enough to assemble and manage the perfect team and convince some rich people to lend you lots of money. simple. but be prepared. this guy was routinely doing 18 hour days, 6 days a week (he was a Christian, otherwise he'd undoubtedly be doing 8 days a week). he'd be out and about most of the day doing sales and marketing, flying around the world for meetings and stuff, then come into the office and code for 8-9 hours a night

  • What are the difference is read/write speeds of PATA (ATA 100) and SATA?

I am thinking of putting a SATA HDD in my Super Drive bay of my Early 2008 MacBook Pro (NON-Unibody) and I am currious of what the difference is in speeds of these connectors. • Speeding up quadrature encoder read out

    Hi,
I`m using a quadrature encoder together with a 6259 DAQ Card and BNC2110 Terminal Block.
I managed to have it working with the DAQ-Assistent at 80Mhz using the Counters and reading one value at a time. Before the DAQ-Assistent I used a DAQmx command to connect PFI10 and PFI9 as the BNC2110 Terminal only outputs PFI0-9. This works but it is really slow, the distance between each measurement point is around 6 us. The VI is in the attachement (AquadB_one_value.vi)
So I thought I might use the n-values version with the DAQ-Assistent but this does not work and I dont see any reason why, it is complaining about that connection between PFI10 and PFI9 which it didnt do before in the one-value-version. The VI is also in the attachement (AquadB_n_values.vi)
I also tried another method using a VI I was given some time ago and modified it but here the distance between each measurement point is also around 6us. This VI is also in the attachement (Counter - Read Encoder.vi)
Or am I missunderstanding something? The minimum achievable time distance between measurement points should be 1/80.000.000 s where of course the value can only differ 1/0/-1 because it has only calculated one new change in the A and B Signals right? I thought with using the n-values it is storing all the calculated values in the memory and I am transferring them afterwards for doing all the "post-processing"?
If I am wrong, how can I spped up the read-out of the calculated values any other way?
    Best regards

  • Can't speed up read-out-loud speed

Hi, I'm experiencing the read-out-loud making long pause between words when it is activated. I tried with "Edit=>Preferences=>reading=>words per minute" but it didn't not really work. It only made each word being read faster, but it didn't shorten the pause between words. Does anyone have similar experience and know how to fix this?

  • My USB port (closest to the screen) is not working? And what is an IR Receiver in my USB port?

    Hi everyone,
I recently found out that my USB port, closest to my screen, is not working. Before I called Apple Care for help, I performed a PRAM and a SMC RESET, which unfortunately did not work. I called Apple Care and they help me troubleshoot simple resets such as, shutdowns and restarts. The representative I spoke with conluded that the physical hardware has an issue and must be brought to the Apple Store for a diagnosis. I called the Apple Store to at least budget the fee for getting a USB port fixed and it's about $300.00. I never dropped my macbook or had any sort tactile encounterment with hard surfaces by dropping or hitting. I don't understand how my macbook pro would be physically damaged. I then thought maybe my software was out of date (right now I am running 10.9 Mavericks) or I forgot to do the minor software updates, but I was at a lost again because my macbook is up-to-date. I searched for further help and found a way to monitor what's plugged into my usb ports. (I read in the apple forums that a girl had nothing in her usb ports, but upon looking at the System Information> Hardware> USB, that the macbook recognizes that there are drives in the ports) I looked at my ports; one is being used by wirless mouse (the port that works) and the other (the port that doesnt work) is being used by an "IR RECEIVER". Now, is the IR Receiver actually using that port and that's why my macbook cannot recognize other devices inserted into that port? Or is the IR RECEIVER suppose to be in that port and that the hardware for that port is simply damaged (which would mean I need $300.00 to get that fixed)? I know this is a lot, but someone help me?

I can help with the "IR Receiver" part of your question. That's the piece of hardware inside older MacBook Pros (MBPs) that lets them work with the Apple Remote. "IR" is the standard abbreviation for "infrared," the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum used by remotes for many common devices (stereos, cable boxes, Apple TVs, etc.). The remote sends a coded stream of IR pulses; a corresponding receiver in the target device "sees" the infrared light and decodes it. The MBP's internal IR Receiver sends the received signals to the processor via USB through an internal hub.
The most recent MacBook Pros have dropped the IR receiver and no longer work with the Apple Remote.

  • Read Out Loud Not Working - Acrobat Pro v9.2

    Hi,
I'm working my way through the Adobe Acrobat 9 Classroom in a Book and in Lesson 6 came to a section for accessibility and the Read Out Loud feature. However, when I follow the lesson (and instructions in the Adobe Help files), nothing happens. No sound, nothing.
I'm using Acrobat Pro v9.2 and Windows Vista.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been searching through the Forums, Help Files, and Google to try to find a solution or maybe see whay I could be doing wrong, but have come up empty.
I have checked my volume and it is set at maximum volume, and Read Out Load is activated under View -> Read Out Loud.
    Thank you for any assistance.

    Hi Bill,
Thank you very much, that helped. I didn't know anything opened up when it was activated and set to read so I paid attention to what was happening and noticed the bar on the bottom, but it was there only a second before disappearing. So then I thought to set my preference to a very slow speed (which I learned can't be less than 150 words a minute) and I also changed the voice to a Microsoft voice (SanSoft voices were the other choices). When I tried again, it worked. I don't know if it was the speed or the voice or both, but I never would have considered those if I hadn't been aware of the bar. It must have shown before but it was so quick and I wasn't looking for it that I must have missed it.
    Thanks!
