What is meant by Print Shop Papers

Hi ,
What is meant by Print Shop Papers?. What is its use?.
Thanks in advance

Dear ,
Print Shop Papers : It is one of gthe custom developement  based on your Standard Production Orders .In any manufacturing plant , when Production Engineer and his team  have certian product developement , they need a comprehensive production information like Bill Of Material , Operation sequence , Operation Hrs , Prodiuctuion order reservation number , MTO means MTO sales Order number , customer information if required , Operation Star and Ened datses , times , Production Schedule Start /Ened etc .A shop paper contains those above information and SAP system has Print Programme to rtigger those shop papaers through Stanrda Txn like CO02/CO04N or any Z tsxn by your ABAPer.
Specially , it will be with Production Supervisor at Shop floor where production is happening and will be followed those instruction interms of material to operation  till the completion of the order.
Carry out a SND search in SDN PP forum , you will find number of wiki , theards having technical information related to Print Shop Papaers .
All the best

  • Printing Shop Papers from Maintenance Order Urgent !!!

    Hi All,
I am in need of Printing Shop papers from Maintenance order , i know that the configuration of this thing is done through SPRO
Plant Maintenance and customer service ->
Maintenance and Service Processing -> Maintenance and Service Orders -> Print Control -> Define Shop Papers, Forms and Output Programs
, but i want that when we give Print command through Maintenance order a smartfrom should trigger which i have developmed.
My problem is that i am not able to configure the Print control for SMARTFORMS.
What to do , Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Rachit Khanna

    Amol,
Standard config doesnt provide the functionality to set the default selection dependant on PLANT. You will have to get the help of developer to do an implicit enhancement (Only If you are in ECC 6.0) to accomplish the same.

  • Printing Shop Papers for Completed Notifications

    Hello,
This issue has been brought up on this forum before, but I have not managed to find an actual solution that was implemented by an organization.
We are basically trying to print Shop Papers for completed (NOCO) Notifications that have Orders assigned but that have been completed and TECOu2019d. The thread Need to REPRINT the Service Notification explains that it is not possible to print such shop papers. Is there some way to create a work around using user exits or a custom program to enable such shop papers to be printed? I've already checked with SAP and was told that no SAP note fulfills this requirement on ECC 6.0. I would much appreciate any insight on a solution you may have implemented.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tarun

PeteA is right you will need to have some custom code to by-pass the status checks that SAP has implemented.
Prometheus Group has a program called the Work Order Print Manager that can do this for work orders.  I am a developer for this solution.
The program gathers all document related to the work order (services for objects, DMS, sapscripts/smartforms, equipment doc, functional location docs, material docs, etc) and puts them into a nice GUI for printing.
Specifically for work order you cannot print them from standard SAP if the order is in created status because the menu is greyed out).  However we can put a button in a user exit to call the program.  The sapscripts appear along with the other documents and can be printed.
Additionally we can add watermarks and/or to the document to let the users know they are trying to print a work order in the incorrect status.  We/ I can demonstrate the work order solution to you and prototype a IW52 solution after a short discussion to help us understand your issue in particular.

if you are interested in a demo email them to set up a demonstration with me.

  • Print Shop Papers in Smartforms

I've got a task to print Shop Paper in Smartform. The SAP standard form was PM_JOB_TICKET and print driver was RIPRJT01. The transaction to print (in Sapscript format) Shop Paper is IW3D. I'm an ABAPer so I know how to convert form from Sapscript into Smartform. But I don't know how to make transaction IW3D to print my Smartform. I tried to change Output program, Form routine & Form name under transaction OIDF but it seems I cann't link a Smartform name with this transaction. Can you please help urgently?

    Rohit,
I have just read your response. Thanks for that, can l just get some clarification on a couple of things.
    1. Are you saying that you did get SMARTFORMS working for PM ?
    2. If so, did you do this by getting the SAP Script to call the SMARTFORMS ??
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mayuresh,

  • CN22 - Print Shop Floor Papers for Network Orders

    Hi All,
We are printing shop floor papers for network orders - the printers are setup, configuration is working fine.
However, there is a sporadic error: when we select "Print" and then "Save" in CN22, the system pops up a window with the list of all network activities. However, for some reason, the first time this is done, only a few network activities appear on the list. If we close the pop up, then select "Print" and then "Save" again, the whole list appears. Has anyone encountered this before? I looked through OSS, but couldn't tell if any of the notes would be applicable to resolve the issue.

    Hi,
I just went through the same problem. Don't know if it is still open.
In customizing under "Project System"->"Structures"->"Operative Structures"->"Network"->"Printing in Networks" you will find entry "Recommendations for printing and print control". There it is stated that the number of time tickets or number of confirmation slips entered for the activity is greater than zero.
Check in transaction OPS0 if you have set the number of prints greater than zero in menu point "List control for transactions (double clic on the entry).

  • Changing print format for the Shop papers -External service operations

    Hi Friends ,
We want print outs for the external service operations in our PM orders .
The standard format available with shop papers is displayed with some extra info .
We want to remove those info and add some extra info .
Can we change the printing format for these and how much effort it rquires .
    Regards
    AM

    Hi,
In OIDF, define the Shop Paper specially designed for External Service Operations.
In Order, in Print option, go to Operation Selection, select the required operation & select the print layout which is designed for External Service, so that, you can get the print out according to additional fields requirements.
    regards,

  • Printing shop paper for Service Order

    Hi,
I can see for service orders (IW31) shop papers are used to print documents. And shop papers are basically written in sapscript. They are configured in SPRO for each order type along with their program name and subroutine name and form name.
But my requirement is I want to show a document currently stored in Business Document Service(OAER) when order print button is clicked. I have a program which currently shows a document stored in BDS in a screen upon executing it. But if I configure that program name in SPRO I get a runtime dump.
Could anybody please help me on that.
    Regards,
    Mainak

    OK...try this:
in OIDB (notification) remove the selection check for all generic entries - this determines what is shown when you try to print.  For example, if you have a setting for doc.type = * and it is checked for selection, each of those will appear when you print.  By removing this selection check for doc type = *, it won't appear for yours.  You should put a line there for your doc type with the selection checked.  If you put a second line there for your doc type without the 'selection' checked - it will show, but be optional when you do a print.
In OIDG (work order), follow the same logic.  Once you print the order, it will propose to print the notification as well (either selected or just available).  Also, i think you should link the notification and order types in work order config.
This works when you are printing a work order, but i'm not sure if you can print the work order from the notification.  I just tried this in my system and did get the notifications to print while printing the work order using the settings i've mentioned.

  • Printing Shop floor documents

    Hello Experts,
Is it possible to print the shop floor documents in production order status CRTD ?
If yes what are the settings to be done to get printing before releasing the order?
    Regards,
    Jejesh
Edited by: jejesh yal on Jan 27, 2009 6:47 AM

    Hi,
As per Standard SAP Practice, It is not possible to print shop floor papers befere release of Production Order i.e. It must have status REL and not CRTD.
You need to maintain following settings for Printing Shop Floor Papers :
    In OPK8
    Name of the list - LG01, LG03, LK02, LV02
Spool parameters - User and plant = *
Reference operation - type - *, ref order = your order type
    Forms -
    LG01 - PSFC_OBJECT-LIST
    LG03 - PSFC_ZUGL-LIST
    LK02 - PSFC_GOOD-ISS-SL
    LV02 - PSFC_CONF-TICKET
    Print Programme -
    LG01 - PPPROBJU
    LG03 - PPPRZUGL
    LK02 - PPPRWARS
    LV02 - PPPRRUEC
    List control for transaction
ref order type, plant, MRP controller-*
    transaction codes - CO01, CO02, CO03, CO04, CO05, CO07
Flow control for transaction - all are online
    Hope this helps.

  • Pages/Apple-PDF doesn't work in the print-shop

    Hello!
We produce a flyer. Therein is a picture that we changed to 20% (visibility) only, another picture is laying over it (or partly laying over it) with 70%, there is another one laying over it with 90%.
We produce a pdf of our pages-file.
We controle it with Preview - very well.
We controle it with Adobe-Reader 9 - very well.
We sent it to be printed: the upper picture with 90% is not visible on the machines of the printing-shop.
With different printing-shops we had the same problem also with different flyers: Always the upper picture is not visible for them.
Where may be the problem? What can we do?
    franut

we changed to 20% (visibility) only
Transparency is supported from PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5) and higher. Transparency is not supported in PDF 1.3 which is what OS X saves out and it is not supported in PostScript. Therefore, you need to render ('flatten') the transparency manually before saving out a printing master.
We sent it to be printed: the upper picture with 90% is not visible on the machines of the printing-shop.
In order to produce a printing master, you need to use the PDF/X-3 filter in the Apple ColorSync Utility. And if you ask, 'How do we use the Apple ColorSync Utility to produce a printing master?' then first search this forum for other threads on this subject.

  • My only local print shop can't open a .pages document

Help! I have to have the brochure I've worked on for a week printed this afternoon, and the printer is pc only, can't open my file. When I save it as a word document, it is not possible to read the document, and much of the content is missing...it generally looks like a third grader threw it together. Any help?

It's the printer offices which are more numerous using Windows than Mac Os X which is really not the same thing.
    Sigh, you are wrong Yvan.
Between Microsoft Word and the printers raster image processor there has to be a page description language. Microsoft did not proceed with TrueImage as a competitor to PostScript, so Microsoft has had no native page description language between Word and the RIP. Instead Microsoft has depended on the Adobe page description languages PostScript and after 1993 increasing the Portable Document Format which is a derivative of PostScript level 2.
If a print shop receives a Word file, it opens the Word file and launches a print job from within Word that hands Word's internal data structures off to the Windows GDI Graphics Device Interface which in turn hands off to the Windows PostScript driver which in turn writes a PostScript file to disk which in turn is converted to Portable Document Format, if the PostScript is not sent directly to the PostScript Level 2 or PostScript Level 3 RIP.
It seems that you don't understand what is this forum.
Prepress has a first principle: GIGO Garbage In Garbage Out. Apple is responsible for the input to the prepress process, that is, for the input to the page description. If the input is garbage for whatever reason, then there is nothing the print shop can do with the printing master (well, short of hand editing the page descriptions in the PDF prepress editor which, believe me, is not for the non-technical).
Apple's job is to do the best it can to make sure the everyday enduser is able to produce input that will work well as the page description is processed down the line. In my humble opinion, what Peter has been asking for (deviceCMYK and device spot colour) would not be the best way to make sure the everyday enduser is able to produce a workable printing master, but then I got myself called a colour management (best not use that word) on another list.
The question remains whether Apple in its own terms, that is in terms of the device independent imaging models Apple itself developed, is doing the best for the everyday enduser. For instance, the Adobe PDF evangelist crossed himself in the OS X 10.3 time frame when it turned out that Quartz was converting TrueType to Type 1 instead of Type 42 in writing PostScript since the TrueType instructions are hurt by converting to Type 1 hints - not to mention that the obligatory CMAP Character Map is clipped when converting to Type 1.
I know you don't know prepress, and there's no problem with not knowing prepress, but please don't post to people that Apple's prepress support is satisfactory, because in fact it is not.
