What is message type, basic type and logical message?

I have a question with EDI.
What is message type? what is basic type? what is logical message?
I am a bit confused. I appreciate your links that you may provide, but even if you can brief me in a few sentences, that will be great.

A Message type indicates the type of business document that you are trying to transmit or receive.
A BASIC type is the IDOC type, which is the actual document that is being exchanged. A message type can be associated with different IDOC types and depending on the requirement you can choose the appropriate one.
A logical message is nothing but the message type.

Logical Message for Basic Type SHIPMENT_CHANGE01

I want to use the basic type SHIPMENT_CHANGE01 in order to update a shipment (status, date, hour, and specifics elements) but I can't find wich Logical Message I have to use.

There is the SHIPMENT_CREATEFROMDATA for shipment creation but for the modification, I can't find anyone. Maybe SHPMNT (Shipping outbound) ? or SHIPPL (Inbound planned shipments) ?

Anybody having problems in Mail when sending reply messages from a thread and the message is not showing in the Sent mailbox?

Got a weird one...
I am sending replies from a thread in Mail and they seem to have been sent (sounds) but they don't show in the Sent mailbox... O-0 These messages seem to have been delivered to cyberspace as they don't show in my Sent mailbox on my IMAP server... This has been happening for the last month... I have checked and verified all of my IMAP settings and Mailbox behavior settings... This is really weird and maybe a bug.... I checked all of my other clients that have access to the server on the same account and these messages do not show there either.... Any ideas?

The messages are getting to the recipient...
I am on a Comcast IMAP server if this has anything to do with it and the server settings are following the correct server port numbers, SSL settings, etc... I save Sent messages on the IMAP server for 90 days.... None of these "disappearing" messages were on the server for more than a couple of days.. Typically, these messages will get 'hung' in the Outgoing Mailbox for @30 seconds before sending... like they are being scanned for viruses or Mail can't connect to the server all of a sudden...
I anybody else here is on a Comcast IMAP server, and having this problem of disappearing Sent messages... This would tell us that it might be a Mail Provider issue with their outgoing server...

TS4002 When sending messages from iCloud on PC keeps telling me "message not sent" when message has been sent and keeps message as draft. Help please.

Everytime I send a message from iCloud on my desktop PC it states that message cannot be send at this time. However when I look at sent folder, message has been sent. Also message appears also under draft folder. This only happens on dektop. No issues on any of the iOS devices. Please help. Thanks

Firefox will download some of the new messages. Hang and eventualy say no new messages. Run again and several messages will download and mess up again.

This happened some time after I cleaned up and deleted many old emails. The reason I did this is the system was really slow downloading messages.
Shortly after that it would say I had 300 messages download a random number. 1,50,200 etc then stop. Saying no new messages.
My server provider is ATT Uverse. I checked the mail server changing to the latest recommeded settings for the sbcglobal.net domain. Problem is still there.
I configured Outlook on my computer for the first time. Outlook works perfectly. Thunderbird does not.
I first noticed the problems a couple of weeks ago. Got worse after cleaning up old emails late last week.
I have compacted all the folders and rebuilt the index. Tried safe mode worked once second try same problem.
Stopping MCaFee did not help ether

Turning off Real Time Email Attachment scanning fixed the problem.
I turned the Mcafee Fire wall back on and the plugin . Will experiment to see what if it is just the Attachment Scanning or if the other parts need to be disabled also.

The basic type depends on the version of system in consideration.
lets say for eg. HRMD_ABA has basic type from HRMD_ABA01 to 05 and they are depend on the version of the system as which to use.

Hi,
IDOC Basic type means, IDOC type delivered by SAP. When you want to modify the IDOC provided by SAP, you create an Extension IDOC of Basic type.
This is what SAP says about "Basic Type".
IDoc type supplied by SAP (standard format for data communication). Basic types can be modified by customers to create a new, upward-compatible IDoc type. Basic types can also be defined by customers and modified at a later date. Basic types and subsequent modifications created by customers are not necessarily upward-compatible.
To check detail of any IDOC, user transaction WE60.
Check area Menu WEDI. Its a Area menu for all IDOC related transaction. Enter command WEDI ( where you enter transaction code - Top left of screen ). Also, this command only works from very first screen of SAP. This is SAP eacy access screen you see when you logon into SAP. Since WEDI is area menu, you can only execute from very first screen.
Here is the list of other area menu.

Basic type not found

Hi Experts,
I used name for basictype 'ZMDOSTATUS' In R/3 system , now after upgrade to ECC6,while runing report to send Idoc message displayed "Basic type 'ZMDOSTAT' NOT FOUND" Last two charcher is beein truncated. How we can solve this problem without changing the name of basic type. please suggest some approch. Waiting for your reply.

can you let us know what the exact problem recently i have worked on upgradation project but i have not faced the problem what your telling . basic type 'ZMDOSTATUS' are you able to display in we31 code. if you able to do what exactly the problem .
when the upgradation every basic type will be copied to new server .

Basic menu and displaying

Need help with what should be a basic problem (And hopefully basic easy answer ^_^)
I first display a splash screen then after it's dismissed displays a list of items. Can't seem to get it to work at the moment.
