so look under add ons/ extensions. to disable or remove.

Is the iPod still singed into the account isn Settings>iTunes and App Stores and SettingsZ>iCloudl? If it is then I would not be concerned.

For the other "problem", go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says Prevent iPod....automatically syncing.

HT5848 I have purchased Itunes Match, and go to Settings/Music and it tells me to subcribe to Itunes Match. I click on that and it says I am subscribed, but I can not get it to quit playing ADs.

Figured it out. Must sign out from Itunes and then back in and it works.

You cannot use iCloud.com on a mobile device, only on a computer. Documents in iCloud are available via the apps themselves on a mobile device.

What is "activateSettings" and why is it almost freezing my Mac?

I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5, then to 10.5.8 via the Combo update. Everything seemed fine at first, but I am regularly experiencing problems, at unpredictable times that I haven't been able to associate with any specific applications or actions.
Unpredictably, everything will become glacially slow. Practically any click on any window will evoke the spinning pizza wheel. Attempting to launch almost any application, such as Activity Monitor, will result in that application bouncing in the Dock for over a minute.
Whenever this happens, I know exactly what I will find: if I try to shut down or restart the Mac, I will get a message saying "The application 'activateSettings' cancelled shutdown." However, if I press control-option-Escape, there is no such application. Nor is there any process by that name in the Activity Monitor. I do not see them if I look before shutting down, nor do I see them after I get the message. Nor does a search of the hard drive uncover any such application.
What is "activateSettings" and what is it doing?

Could be, I'll have to start paying attention. Typically Mail is open continuously... I check mail soon after I log in and leave it open.
I haven't seen it yet on my brand new spiffy Mac Mini running 10.6.2 but I've seen it on an oldie-but-goodie Power Mac running 10.5.8, so whatever it is, it isn't limited to one specific system or user account.
I still want to know what "activateSettings" IS. Why isn't it posting the name of the actual application that's cancelling shutdown? Or, if there is some application named "activateSettings" why can't I find it with Spotlight?

What is Mangler and why is it taking over my Mac and making it slow?

I thought I had a hard drive problem and maybe I still do but one of the suggestions I got to see what was going on when my machine slowed to a crawl was to run Activity Monitor.
Umm, what the heck is Mangler and why is it using 6GB of memory and 12GB of virtual memory? I can see it's related to sync and that when my machine syncs the processor goes balistic, the machine slows to a crawl and the fans go on full bore. What's wrong?
Obviously there was a time when it worked without crippling my system so the question is how to I correct this. Ideas?

Mangler is a utility for renaming files.
Do you have version 2 which was release for Snow Leopard?
Another choice would be delete it if you don't use it.

You didn't say what you have already tried, but if you haven't already done so, power-cycle your router (unplug it for 15 seconds then plug it back in), then on your phone go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset Network Settings, then try joining your wifi again.

Your post indicates you are the operating system on your Mac is 10.5.8
If that is correct, you will need to update to at least 10.0.6 in order to use the Mac App Store and redownload your purchased apps.

We are all itunes users just like you. You are not addressing Apple here. I doubt anyone here cares who you buy from.
As always, it is your responsibility to back up your content. If you failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try asking itunes support for an exception.

What is powerd and why is it using so much cpu

When I check the activity monitor, it is almost pegged out. Because of this other things run slowly. So, what is "powerd" and why is it all of a sudden using so CPU?

It is something related to power management, but it shouldn't be running away like that.
Select it in Activity Monitor and then Quit it using the "X in octagon" button. You should only need Quit, but try force quit if needed.
It will restart, but hopefully it won't start running away. If it does, there is likely something else causing it to do that.

1.MRP is material requirements planning which plans the required quantity of depedent material's along with the required date.
2.MRP procedure is sub divided into a normal MRP,Master Production Scheduling and Consumption Based Planning.
3.Cosnumtion BAsed planning is further sub-divided into Time Phased Planning,Reorder Point Planning and Forecast based
Planning.Reorder point planning can be automatic or Manual.
4.MRP type is differentiated using the MRP type value assigned in the MRP1 view of the material master.
5.Some of the MRP types are PD - MRP,M0,M1,M2,M3 - MAster Production Scheduling related,VB - Manual reorder point
planning,VM-Automatic reorder point planning.
6.It is possible to take the MRP for the whole plant/for a specific MRP area using the batch MRP job.
7.MDBT is the T Code for scheduling the MRP job or it can be scheduled for the program RMMRP000 using the T Code SM36
and the results can be checked using SM37.

I've never heard of any JRF. Post a link to the reference for that term.
There is a JRE that is the Java Runtime Environment - perhaps that is what you are referring to.

My computer says firefix is running....I can not find it and when I click on the icon it will not open. What can I do?

I can not get firefox to open when I click the icon. A box appears and tells me firefix is running but I can not find it anywhere. I have tried to delete it and everything else I can think of and it will not open. Please tell me what I can do.

I used to have this problem on my old XP computer, too. The easiest way to fix it is to restart your computer. Use Shutdown and restart. This will stop the firefox process that is hanging and won't show up on your screen.
If you are somewhat computer literate, you can look at all your running processes by pressing Ctrl Shift Esc all at once using the three finger salute. Look at the list of processes to find firefox, highlight it, and select end process. Then go back and click on your shortcut to your firefox to regain control and display it on your screen.
Be sure to upgrade to the latest version of firefox, Version 5. It works much better than previous versions.

Growl is a third party utiltiy for manipulating parts of the OS and displaying "notifications". It sounds like you once had it installed. To remove go here...
