When i try to start itunes i get a message saying that the MSVCR80.dll file is missing and to reinstall itunes. When I try to reinstall itunes it tells me that I have an Error 7 (windows error 126). Can anybody tell me what this means? Thanks

With a recent update of itunes, ( a couple weeks ago), when plugging in my iphone, itunes did not automatically launch...and when manually selecting itune to open I recieve the statement ...
"application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing MSVCR80.dll" ?
I have gone to the itunes site and reloaded itunes....and did not fix the problem. ....helpClick here and follow the instructions. I have lost my MSVCR80.dll and am not able to open or download itunes. What are my options? I removed itunes thinking that i would start over and i am still encountering the same error message.

This morning when I opened iTunes, I noticed my Purchse folder was empty, which it should not have been. I checked my Account page, and under Purchase History only songs bought in the past few days show up.
I have been buying from iTunes since early 2003, so I had quite a list going.
Why would they erase that info, and can I get it back?
My account name/preferences and everything else is exactly the same as always.

iTunes Library.itl
The actual music files should still be there. You can import them back into itunes.
My advice is to make weekly backups of that ITL file, so you can get it back if something like this happens again. -

Today I went to open iTunes and received the MSVCR80.dll error - unable to open iTunes.
After Googling for a solution, I found the Apple walkthrough on how to copy your .DLL files to your desktop, uninstall iTunes and reinstall.
When I tried to reinstall iTunes, I got an error in the "starting services" part of the installation process and was not able to complete the install.

I made a mistake of trying to play music while doing an update. Now I can't open iTunes and I get the message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" It DOES NOT. I have deleted all the apple programs and things off my computer then re-installed them. It did not change the message I am getting. I am also getting the message that "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-instal iTunes. Error 7 Windows error 126" I have tried to restart it making it the administrator. It didn't help. Just tried to download and install latest ITunes update and it would not finish update. I aborted the update and then my ITunes will not open. I keep getting and error stating that file MSVCR80.dll not found. I reinstalled my original ITune file but this did not clear this error. Any ideas.
