What is MyPhotobook and can I safely uninstall it?

Hi,
I did a search for this program and from what I can see it allows you to make a real book from your favourite books, as I don't intend to do this is it safe to uninstall it to free up more space on my hard drive for programs I do want? Don't want to uninstall it if by any chance it's connected to something else that is necessary but can find very little information on exactly what it is and how it's linked to other programs if it is.
Can anybody help me?
Debbie

Thanks for that Ivan as I rarely uninstall pre-installed programs for fear it will be connected to something else but from what I could see that is pretty useless program unless you have lots of money and want to make family or friends photo albums.

  • Install errors with many 2014 apps and can we safely uninstall previous versions post-installation of the new releases?

I'm getting errors for several CC 2014 applications. The CC desktop says "Installation Failed", and yet some have actually been installed despite the failed message.
I also want to know if we can/should uninstall the old versions (CC and CC 64-bit) before (or after?) updating, because rather than upgrading the applications (which would have been nice), it just installs alongside them....so now I have 3 versions of Illustrator, 3 versions of PS, etc. I don't want all these versions, only the latest. Is it safe to uninstall the older versions (CC and CC 64) post-failed-installation of 2014, or should I just uninstall all and reinstall?
    Thanks in advance.

  • I bought the Keynote app for my MacBook, but when I open the application and try to install it, I get an error message saying that the application will not work with my MacBook. What gives? And, can I please request a refund? ($19.99 = a week's groceries)

I bought the Keynote app for my MacBook, but when I open the application and try to install it, I get an error message saying that the application will not work with my MacBook. What gives? And, can I please request a refund? ($19.99 = a week's groceries).
Thank you for your help! - I did try looking for all available specs about Keynote on the Apple iTunes website, and found nothing that could help me. HELP!

    1
    Close all iWork applications
    2
Uninstall Keynote; this must be done with an application remover tool to delete the installation properly. Appcleaner is known to work correctly for this purpose, it is free and can be downloaded from here: Appcleaner Download
    3
    empty the trash
    4
shutdown the Mac and restart. After the start up chime, hold down the shift key until the apple logo appears
let the Mac complete the start up procedure completely, it will take longer than usual as the hard drive is being repaired
    5
Reinstall Keynote by logging into the Mac App Store using download / install

Those are outdated iPod software updaters which can be safely deleted.

  • Can I safely uninstall Elements 10 after upgrading to Elements 12

    Hi everyone,
Can I safely uninstall Elements 10 after I've upgraded to Elements 12? There's nothing in the library anymore and I backup everything to an external HD.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
There will not be any issue with the uninstallation of Photoshop Elements 10 [ PSE10 ] after you have upgraded [ installed Photoshop Elements 12 ].
Before you uninstall the PSE10, please make sure that you have the serial number of it. [ Find your serial number at ( Find your serial number quickly ) ].
If you do not have the installation media, if it's a CD, you can download PSE10 again from [ Other downloads ].

  • Can I safely uninstall Bonjour?

    Hi,
I am using the latest iTunes version on a WinVista 32Bit Dell laptop. Bonjour sometimes stops working, Vista then notifies me about a "Computer problem". At Apple I read "Bonjour, also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks." I am using iTunes with 2 older iPods (mini and nano), i don't use network features or something like that.
Can I safely uninstall Bonjour? It seems that it is totally useless here.
    Thanks!

iTunes works fine without Bonjour, but some functionality is lost:
+iTunes uses Bonjour to find shared music libraries, to find AirPort Express devices for streaming music to, and to find Apple TVs.+
    See Bonjour FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2250?viewlocale=en_US
So only uninstall Bonjour if you don't need the services it provides.

If a user account is deleted and the data for that account is not deleted, it is placed there. Yes, you can delete the files there.

    HI ..
    Open a Finder window.
Select your user account on the left in the Sidebar. It has a small house icon.
Now open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.

If the upgrade completed successfully and you are running Aperture 3 on the converted library and you're sure all the images that were in the old library are in the new library then you could delete the Aperture 2 library.
However I'm the paranoid type and when it comes to deleting images I'm always hesitant. If you can fine a place to archive the old library that  would be your a better option.
At a minimum I would keep the old library around for a month or so after switching to Aperture 3 just to make sure in case something pops up.

No, just someone who has set their caller ID to that so you don't know from whom the call came.

  • What cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

what cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

    Hi,
    Sandboxed Solution Limitations
When a sandboxed solution is deployed, the array of SharePoint functionality available to it is limited to help reduce any security vulnerabilities it may have. Some of these limitations include the following:
Sandboxed solutions have a restricted subset of deployable solution elements available to them. Potentially vulnerable SharePoint project templates, such as site definitions and workflows, are not available.
SharePoint runs sandboxed solution code in a process (SPUCWorkerProcess.exe) separate from the main IIS application pool (w3wp.exe) process.
Mapped folders cannot be added to the project.
Types in the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 assembly Microsoft.Office.Server cannot be used in sandboxed solutions. Also, only types in the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 assembly Microsoft.SharePoint can be used in sandboxed solutions.
It is important to note that specifying a SharePoint solution as a sandboxed solution has no affect on SharePoint server; it only determines how the SharePoint project is deployed to SharePoint from Visual Studio and what assemblies it binds to. It does not
affect the generated .wsp file, and the .wsp file has no data that directly correlates to the Sandboxed Solution property.
Capabilities and Elements in Sandboxed Solutions
Sandboxed solutions support the following capabilities and elements:
    Content Types/Fields
    Custom actions
    Declarative workflows
    Event receivers
    Feature callouts
    List Definitions
    List Instances
    Module/files
    Navigation
    Onet.xml
    SPItemEventReceiver
    SPListEventReceiver
    SPWebEventReceiver
Support for all Web Parts that derive from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart
    Web Parts
WebTemplate feature elements (instead of Webtemp.xml)
    Visual Web Parts
Sandboxed solutions do not support the following capabilities and elements:
    Application Pages
    Custom Action Group
    Farm-scoped features
    HideCustomAction element
    Web Application-scoped features
    Workflows with code

    See Here  >  maclife.com/how_remove_other_data_your_iphone
Other is usually around 1 GB...
A  ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

  • Can I safely uninstall 1.5 now?

I bought the v2.0 upgrade at the same time as a new PC. Unlike both Premiere and Audition, Encore would not insatall from just the ugrade disk (Premiere and Audition simply asked for earlier version serial numbers as proof of ownership) but instead I was forced to install v1.5 first, before then being able to then install v2.0. Consequently I now have both versions on my machine (which I was hoping to avoid). Can I now safely uninstall v1.5?

Both can coexist on the same system, but yes- you can uninstall Encore 1.5 if you so wish.

  • Can I safely uninstall iPhoto?

I just started using iPhoto when Apple "upgraded" to Photos. I have seen the various issues with the new software but don't want to stick with an unsupported product (and will probably mostly use Canon DPP anyway). iPhoto keeps launching and jumping up in the dock with the the message that my library has been migrated to Photos. I don't know why it does that (maybe to do with my photos being stored on a NAS). Can I simply uninstall iPhoto or will there be any backward compatibility issues/data loss in terms of my library?

. I don't know why it does that (maybe to do with my photos being stored on a NAS)
If your Photos are stored on a NAS, then  you are using both Photos and iPhoto in an unsupported way. I would not uninstall iPhoto before you are convinced that your iPhoto Library migrated well to the new Photos.app and you have checked each and every Photo in the Photos library, if it has been migrated to Photos and can been accessed in the new library.
You will have no easy way to reinstall iPhoto, if you notice that the new library has issues that only can be solved by fixing the problem in your original library with iPhoto.
. iPhoto keeps launching and jumping up in the dock with the the message that my library has been migrated to Photos.
This message will pop up, if you are trying to open the original iPhoto Library, that can only be read by iPhoto and not trying to open the new Photos library, see this help document:  If Photos won't open a library that you already migrated - Apple Support
You migrate from iPhoto to Photos by opening your iphoto Library in Photos, either by dragging the iPhoto Library to the Photos icon in the Dock or launching Photos while holding down the alt/options key while double-clicking the Photos icon. Select your iphoto Library from the Library Chooser panel.  If your library on the NAS is not listed there, or iPhoto keeps launching instead,  Photos cannot access the library on that volume.
Move the library to a drive with a supported format - the drive should be formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled) and it should be locally mounted, not using a network connection.
After Photos migrated your library successfully, you should be seeing a new library with a colourful icon, the same as the Photos.app, on the same drive as your iPhoto Library and with the same size and the filename extension ".photoslibrary".  The original iPhoto Library will have the filename extension ".migratedphotolibrary" and still show the original iPhotolibray icon.
If you don't see a large library like this, your iPhoto Library has not yet been successfully migrated:
